Ai®a©ob®a
Nintendo is making a miniature version of its Super Nintendo. For $80, the new system, called the SNES Classic Edition, comes with 21 packaged Super Nintendo Entertainment System classics, including "Donkey Kong Country" and "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past." Nintendo The console has a September 29 release date, and it includes the best Mario game ever made: "Super Mario World." But what else is on there? Here's the full list of games: Contra III: The Alien Wars Donkey Kong Country EarthBound Final Fantasy III F-Zero Kirby Super Star Kirby’s Dream Course The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Mega Man X Secret of Mana Star Fox Star Fox 2 Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting Super Castlevania IV Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts Super Mario Kart Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Super Mario World Super Metroid Super Punch-Out!! Yoshi's Island The console is officially named the Super NES Classic Edition — a shortened version of the console's name from 1991, when it was released as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Unlike the original SNES console, the Classic Edition won't play cartridges. It's capable of powering only the 21 games included in the box. The console is small enough to fit in your palm: Nintendo The Super NES Classic Edition is much more akin to Nintendo's NES Classic Edition console that launched last year, and has since been discontinued, than the original SNES. The NES Classic Edition was a miniaturized re-creation of the original Nintendo Entertainment System, albeit with built-in games rather than the ability to play cartridges. As a stand-in for being able to play all your old cartridge-based games, the console had a concept called "save states" — a virtual system for adding saves to all games on the console. In practice, this meant stopping wherever you want and picking back up right where you left off, which was impossible in many old games. This is the original Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The Super NES Classic Edition looks identical but smaller.Wikipedia / Evan Amo The Super NES Classic Edition will assuredly replicate that functionality for its 21 games, though Nintendo hasn't confirmed as much yet. Here's what we do know: The Super NES Classic Edition comes with two (wired) controllers and an HDMI cable for the $80; it also comes packed with the 21 aforementioned games. Perhaps the most amazing thing about this package is the inclusion of "Star Fox 2" — a game that was never released by Nintendo. It was actually completed back in the 1990s but was never released to the public for a variety of reasons. Its inclusion in the Super NES Classic Edition is both bizarre and delightful. We'd suggest getting one while you can, lest Nintendo suddenly cease production the way it did with the NES Classic Edition. http://www.businessinsider.com/nintendo-super-nintendo-classic-edition-2017-6 Edited June 29, 2017 by Ai®a©ob®a Ivan1997GTA

Nick1020
Too bad it'll be scooped up by scalpers who'll end up selling them 3 or 5 times the amount.
KilnerLUFC
Too bad it'll be scooped up by scalpers who'll end up selling them 3 or 5 times the amount. Here's hoping Nintendo have somewhat learnt their lesson from the limited run of the NES Classic, but a part of me doesn't believe this, since even the Switch is still in huge demand due to the limited supplies Nintendo keep dropping. It honestly did f*ck me off how many scalpers bought the NES Classic in bulk, to then be selling them at way over the odds, leaving the one who genuinely wanted one to play without the chance to. If the console is around when I have the cash then I hopefully will pick one up. Yeah, I have emulation kits and whatnot, but it'd be nice just for my collection. Ivan1997GTA
This thing looks quite nice, and I think that the casual nostalgia people would really appreciate it. But, I have a little rant, a little something that really honks my chuff. People now, especially kids, seem to think that this how we used to play games on the SNES in the 90's in Russia, which is very far from the truth. The Super Nintendo was more popular in America, Japan and Mainland Western Europe, but for us Eastern Europeans, it was nonexistant. We usually stuck with home computers like a ZX Spectrum or an MS-DOS computer. We had game consoles, sure, but we had either a Dendy or a SEGA Megadrive, which was more popular than its competitor over here. Of course, this was because in the 90's, the computer market was a lot more mature with us Russians than game consoles, which were treated as a new thing back then. And as for Dendy and SEGA Megadrive, it was much easier to pirate games over there than on the SNES. Like I said, the Super Nintendo was a really niche thing in Eastern Europe. Despite that, I'm sure many people will enjoy playing old games on this little thing, even though there are better options out there, like emulation, but I won't judge them. I just hope the controller cable length is a bit longer on the SNES Mini, because the controller cable length of the NES Mini was terribly short, especially compared to the original NES, which was far longer. Also, it would be nice if you could use a Joycon from the Nintendo Switch as an optional controller like with the Classic Controller on the NES Mini. Daz
Knew it would happen, I really hope this time they actually give us some f*cking time to get one before they kill it again. I only JUST got the NES version and had to pay £150 which was after they already discontinued it. Cant wait to get this one, the games list is good though there are some others I wish it had. The NA version looks like anus, about the only benefit of being in europe right now is that sexy multicolored one. El Dildo
yeah, what is this crap, just 21 games? limitations are why I passed on the Classic NES. lemme guess. there will be a demand for millions and millions of units and they'll release a limited run of only several hundred thousand which will disappear within weeks and then reappear on eBay marked up for 4- and 5-times the original sticker price. f/ck off, Nintendo. either do this right or don't do it at all.
