Infuriating glitch

So I spent multiple hours grinding money from gunrunning and vehicle running. I earned around 700k from this. I had a 300k sale of gunrunning stock lined up to sell. I started the mission and when I reached the drop off point I dropped the crate but no Merryweather showed up to attack, so I wasn't able to move on to the next drop point. I waited and waited and nothing happened until the mission timer went off and I lost the cargo. I logged out and today logged in to see that 500k was taken from my account! Every penny of my money is legitimate and I am frankly pissed that this has happened. What can I do to correct this? I worked my butt off for that money.

Good point. I have done that. I only asked to see if it was a common glitch or something that has an easy fix. Thank you.
