Non justified banning is happening !

Any idea were this detection is going wrong exactly though ?

What I did prior to the ban:

1am - resupplied bunker fully by stealing resources. Activated surveillance camera view and went to sleep.

6am - woke up accidentally, didn't check my status or anything, simply resupplied bunker by buying resources and went back to sleep.

7:55 am - ban email, I was still asleep. Then woke up and saw that ban notification.

It was public session, 1 more person was in it at 1am, after that - no idea what happened.

I think this is your issue, Darth. Sorry, mate but "pretty much" reporting money drops is not the same as 'actually' reporting it. Did you fully report this money and have it wiped by Rockstar support? If you did then you're OK and have a case to present. Otherwise you're going to have to bit the bullet I'm afraid and accept the account reset.

 

The account suspension doesn't seem too bad - a month, but the data wipe is really really harsh. Unbelievably harsh. Sorry!

 

I did report by sending tickets at rockstar support....but yes again, i think there might have been a few occasions were i just ridded myself of the money by suiciding myself till it was gone.

 

 

This is the problem. Their in-game 'cheat' detection tools cannot differentiate between your personal feelings about money drops, only that money WAS dropped and some of it was reported and some of it was not. You seem to have been banned for the money that you didn't report, regardless of whether you wanted it or not.

 

Seriously, this is a sh*tty Sunday experience for you and could tarnish your experience with Rockstar forever. I really hope you get this sorted out.

 

We've all been involved in cheating to some degree or another - I was an unintentional bounty billionaire once - but completely resetting someone's stats is the biggest middle finger Rockstar can send to their customers. At least just suspend the account 'abuser' and THEN look into a possible reset after that?

Hmmm, I think we should invite our forum mate flexcreator to this thread. He's notorious for mod menu cracks and he may shed some light on the claims that mod menu users can fake ban you now. At least one forum member here said it's a thing, but I dismissed it as rumors.

It's transferred account. Pretty rare and there is no god mode, cash drops or any other stuff like that. Sooner or later these lone rank 6000 will be done.

I don't doubt it dude, and realise that the worst a player can do in-game is kill/beat me on something, no worries there...

 

Again though, seeing this problem grow, to alter the anti cheat to pick them up, what others potentially get caught up. For me, it's just a small concern, as you said, current gen seems all good at the moment, but well, I hope you see my point dude. (It's not something I worry about in general, just by seeing these things go wrong adds to the list of cautions to be aware of is all, lol.)

Yes and it's happening for quite some time. Because R* can't properly track progress and it's easily modifiable on PC, it happens on a regular basis. Check reddit for example.

 

As far as I'm informed, they're only using their detection tools on PC players because it makes no sense on consoles. Transfers are done for and modded accounts are going for $100 for under 100 mil, it's bespoke goods not worth controlling.

Pretty much this, I had an over all bank account of -508 million when trying to transfer my main account. That was because of billion dollar bounty days of Dec 2013 and me creating 2nd character to withdraw cash aND then delete the 2nd character. Even though I did the right thing my over all lifetime bank account still made it look like I was a modder thus I was not able to transfer my main account, not banned strangely can still play on ps3 but I had to resort to my 2nd psn account to continue enjoying GTAO and its new content on ps4.

its serious. being banned for a month for no reason is still unfair, but losing everything you got...spend so much time and love to get to this point...

Like said, i did get cash dropped on me(and let it be removed in most cases, never spend any of it) and i get reports over me all the time with my high rank.

- The "fake ban" stuff doesn't have the same alert-screen message as a legitimate ban - and there is no way in hell that even if a menu does have such a feature, it's being used as widespread as it is to cause the mass issues.

 

- Rockstar Games have an article published which specifically states you do NOT need to contact RSG support or report to them that you've received modded money.

 

- This doesn't affect any console players.

 

This situation sucks. I had an email from RSG in December 2016 saying "hey, your Xbox360 account has been reset" when it hadn't been played on for over a year prior, had no previous modding on or anything. I didn't take part in the DNS exploits, but I did chase after a number of $2 billion bounties to eventually make a total of $67 billion before they finally reset player's cash in early 2014.

But yet, logging on my (transferred from Xbox360) PC account, that one had been permanently banned too - so they reset the Xbox account for no reason and did likewise with the PC account. Great, eh!?

 

I wasn't even too sure I could push further on that account seeing as it had been banned in the past, but was appealed successfully. That was in 2015 though so I'm not sure how much hope people would have now, and sadly I do get the impression that regardless of how much of a stink this current situation causes, they're not going to wave a wand to magically solve the situation and return everyone's accounts to their previous, good standing.

 

And furthermore, even if they were to do that, what happens if an anti-cheat update in the future recognises that account has had some "issues" and flags it for another ban?

Fiirst, like I mentioned already - I catched the banwave myself. In form that my account used to research the mod menu was permanently banned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I wasn't online. I wasn't level 600 (about 12, in fact). So, the level is not a criteria.

 

Second,I didn't enter online for about a week using this account. Like someone mentioned the banning doesn't work instantly. There is no point in investigating what the person was doing at the moment he got banned - his account was MARKED for ban long before the actual ban.

 

Third, regarding the Force menu. It can potentially check the banned status, not too sure about it. But that's pretty much it. I didn't notice any remote ban features.

 

 

If someone beliieves that a new mod menu can ban players, I need more details.

Binaries, MD5 / SHA256 / SHA1. download source or something. Even the file names would help.

 

But honestly, I'm very skeptical about this.

After reading all of this, if this were to happen to me I would not return to GTA Online even if they offered the Jester Retro, the Sentinel Retro or any of the catsuits they offer. I think I'd just platinum the PS4 version and get rid of it.

Keeping a close eye on this thread.

 

Got blown up alongside the whole lobby on at least three separate occasions after finishing Pac Standard finale (because the devs insists on putting you on a public session after finishing a Heist). Got at least 2 millions dropped on me as well before I could disconnect. All that happened during the week they killed OpenIV and the popular online mod menus for the record.

 

Been following the community given solution to NOT bank the money. I'll post back if anything happens.

 

I've already got caught up on the infamous Discord ban wave that happened last year, if I eat a ban now I'm off to FiveM forever.

 

After funmw2 exposed that their support team is outsourced, I would rather make a deal with the devil, rather than contact their bot driven hive minded support again.

 

My condolences to Darth.

I would advise filing a complaint on Better Business Bureau if you are desperate. At least you should be able to contact an actual human being from Rockstar in a few days from there, rather than Zendesk.

^No there is not a diffrence. The one who did it intentional got 12,5 k to his bank and the one who did it unintentional (like i did after accidently buying two duke o death) got 12,5 k to his bank. There is no way to see a diffrence from the stats.

I was able to rubber band and idle in bunker a few times when Gunrunning released, but about 5 days ago I suffered 2 game crashes/freezes from it, never happened at any other time while playing gtao. I would not be surprised if they have gone after rubber banders all in the name of shark cards. Won't be trying it again as I also got a home screen banner message (PC) about account adjustment/I don't need to do anything cause they know I wasn't the modder, although like many things it could just be a bug that caused this to appear as my assets haven't changed.

 

Terrible what happened to the OP. It's amazing that for a game that set a sales record of 1bn in 3 days of release, it's online multiplayer existance is barely relevant in the video game spectrum with under 40k (PC) players online globally at any time, and yet with so few players they still throw unguided bans and poor account support all over the place.

People sometimes buy multiple cars to test colours or modifications, and then sell the ones they don't want. Especially when the car is FREE.

They can not ban for something so small, especially when it is their fault. There would be too many false positives, even for them.

That is easy to achieve. My current character was made in July 2014 and is rank 900. This is in no way an unbelievable rank.

( i can swear on my grand parents grave) just got ban on 25th even though i haven't played since 20th. All the work, grind just gone. Can we please stop this moronic attitude of "lulz you da high level you so must've cheated".. It is perfectly feasible for someone to have such a high level when you consider the game has been out for 2 years (plus someone may have transferred the character over from the consoles.

 

It really does look like something has gone wrong with this ban wave. I know several people that have received bans today. I am 100% certain they have not used mods, have not cheated and in no way have broken the rules. These are high level people that have poured thousands of hours into the game, helping others and trying to make online a great place to be but now they have been banned through no fault of their own.

 

Rockstars whole banning policy is draconian and heavy handed, the fact there is no "right to appeal" makes this system repulsive. But hey lets keep parroting "lulz no dude you totaly must've cheated cos automated systems work perfectly correctly 100% of the time and never make mistakes".
