Does GTA Online take place before or after GTA 5?

GTA Online starts off by taking place before V. Now that more DLC has been released and with the Gunrunning update, those events take place in 2017 and will continue to progress further until GTA 6 is released. I do believe GTA 6 will continue from what has happened online.

Missions on casino one of them were you take agatha and cheng to the vineyard for a "deal".

Agatha is at the SAME beach house were Cheng was supposedly be dead in the C ending. So my theory is: Trevor is alive, franklin might be dead? And there is no sign of Michael.

No, Wei Cheng, Tao's father, died at that beach house in ending C. I guess Tao survived because he was drunk inside. The Cheng that owns the casino is his uncle.

Either that, or ending B happened, which would explain why we only see Trevor in Online. But the "I almost died at this beach house" part is a reference to ending C.

I think it's real time. When you look at the release dates of the vehicles. The irl counterparts are released within days of gta. The Bentley SUV, the Lambo SUV, are the two that i caught right off.

I think the updates that released exclusive to Xbox One and PS4 take place after the story. Heists is the Online finale pre-Storymode, Ill-Gotten Gains is the character living it up after Heists up to 2015, then Lowriders takes place.

Per the Wiki, everything up to Import/Export takes place before GTA V.

Remember that Molly Schultz and Jay Norris are buyers in Import/Export. Unless "M. Schultz" is a different person and "Jay Norris" is the name of company (like Walt Disney or Charles Schwab).
