So I was a pretty hardcore player when GTAO first dropped. None of my IRL friends played, so I got by with randoms and solo sessions pretty well 2 Properties, Decent Cars, Tank, Buzzard etc..

Heists dropped and I played a few of them with random people, but it seemed such a struggle. I didn't even manage to complete them all and just pretty much fell out of playing GTAO since that point.

I started off keeping up with the updates by reading the NewsWire, but pretty soon I fell behind. Now were looking at what feels a different game entirely (Business Executives, VIP's, Importer/Exporter, Low Riders, Bikers, Yachts, Stunt Races, Micro Machines!, FLYING BIKES?!?) The list is endless and it's daunting to even think about all the stuff that's been injected into the game.

i really wanna start playing again. For some with about 1.5 million and a bunch of assets, what should I be looking to do?

You should buy yourself the cheapest office (1m flat), then save up to 1.5m again through vip work, heists, whatever gamemode you want to play. Then you should buy the cheapest vehicle warehouse and start importing and selling cars. You can make 80k every 20 mins with the import and export business. It's pretty much the best way to make money as a solo player.

How do I even buy a vehicle warehouse?

First of all you need an office. Then you'll go to your pc, go to vehicle business, and there you can select different warehouses to buy. Note: you need to be in a public session to access the pc.

Is there anything else worth doing that doesn't require such an outlay?

Can you get by and have fun without all this VIP/Bikers/Gun Running stuff?

I recommend you to buy vehicle warehouse. People claim it as one of the best money grinding method.

You can register as a VIP now with no cost to you as long as you have 50k in your bank account. This will give you a few hours of VIP, which allows you to play the special VIP missions in freemode for money. I recommend doing so.

Yes they are a lot of new features that can seem daunting. However yachts are just a huge cash sink, no need to buy one(I don't have one) and the same can be said with lowriders. The lowrider update has a mission chain you can start with Lamar which is kind of fun but not necessary.

I would grind heists in order to buy the cheapest CEO office and vehicle warehouse.

This

Also, don't buy anything yet.

Jump into the game. SecureServ -> Looking for work.

Someone may send you an invite to the organization. Start playing as an associate and decide for yourself if you like it or not.

Go to Find Players, get a heist crew and run through them all for some quick and good cash bonus for the ones you haven't completed.

Probably join a crew that has friendly sessions so you can have a good feel of the new features without people sabotaging at the sight of a red icon on the map.

You gotta ask yourself what you want out of the game. I play to just make money and see how much more I can make the next time around.

I steal supplies everytime and collect crates and consistently fill my warehouse. In between I source then sell a top end everytime (10-10-12 trick). I have over 167mil and I want to keep working up toward 200. Then 250 then 300. I play with a couple friends online and we do business sessions.

I don't care about the updates if it doesn't make me money.

Exploding rounds? Who cares if you enjoy driving around in a faggio and watching the sun rise in the video game.

It's all what you want out of it so we can't answer your questions unless you truly know what you're coming back for. Yes, it's a warzone now. Not that it ever changed.

GTAO is a VERY content rich game as you noted. IF you enjoyed the story aspect, then I'd recommend taking them in order of release.

Earn up some cash as a VIP, stick in some associate and mc member missions to try it out and learn what you like and don't like before you commit your cash.

When you're ready by an office and a warehouse. Remember that you must be in a public session. Run some crates and use the proceeds to fund your next purchase. Either the MC or Vehicle warehouse, both make good money.

Once you've gotten either completed repeat the process and fund the one you didn't before.

At this point you're ready for gun running and the millions needed to fully max out the research and focus on just making money.

Keep in mind some of these have drawbacks like annoying phone calls, limitations on resale/upgrade, etc. And learning how to get solo public lobbies is a must.

Good luck.
