Gunnrunning Vehicle Mines Are Scary

What I noticed so far in Gunrunning is that you can place down mines and they pretty much remain there indefinitely. I been hitting my own mines I put down ten or even twenty minutes prior. I would put it down, do other things, come back the same road at one point or another and here that BEEP BEEP BOOOOOM.

There is no limit to how far you can be from them for them to be active, even when I enter and exit my bunker they remain there, because of that whenever my friends and I go down a road we been down before where I placed mines we are like:

Happy Hunter

Do they look like the standard, handheld proxy mines? Do they perform the same?

(Off topic, but these and sticky bombs are one of the reasons I tend to travel by air lol).

they're big and round and there's a flashing red light. It's pretty noticeable, unlike the proximity mines and sticky bombs

Yea tell me about it. I ran over one of my own mines yesterday lol. I was doing a sale & used a lot of mines to get rid of my pursers ... I ended up killing the only other player in the session as well. The one time someone goes to El Burro heights, s\he blows himself up lol.

We need to be careful with this stuff.

Hit my own mine yesterday during a sale. Made me slow down and stare at every single millimeter of the road to be on the safe side

God i love the vehicle proximity mines.

Specially when i place them at every bunker i'm near to. (Even mine)

I find it shocking that the mine I placed in a heavily trafficked area (by npcs and players alike) still remains detonated until I find myself back there and set it off.

How it appears to work is that they only function once a player is within the area, if no player is in the area around them they won't detonate. Only when a player is near and something drives over them that they explode. So basically when you get far enough away and nothing sets them off they basically go into hibernation until a player inevitably drives by the area they were placed.

They're little jump scares just waiting happen.

I think it works different, you know that the whole map is not filled with the npcs driving and walking everywhere all the time, they only load when there is a player in certain area, like on PC there's a limiter which allows you to set how much the map is populated (at least in SP, in online i think it's default value for everyone),

So when you drop a ProxyMine it's going to stay active all the time but there won't be any npc who will drive or walk over them because there are no players in that area.

Although i have only encountered those Vehicle mines once in a session where a guy was driving in city dropping mines left and right and i was in passive and npcs were driving way fast because they were scared by the explosions and shooting, and they kept running over those mines, i do think that they're just same square mines disguised as nice round mines.

only lethal point is that when you're driving around fast not knowing that some pleb might have put a great round mine around the corner, shivers me timbers.
