Okay, now it really is time to get rid of the Garage Blacklist...

...within reason - and all that is meant by that is, it wouldn't look right to have aircraft in your garages, nor vehicles that barely fit (like Brickades and Dunes) - so an update to address that could easily be added. Sorry for the long post.

Okay so the Gunrunning Update did it - we've now got weaponised vehicles classed as "personal" vehicles, storable in our ordinary garages which can be called by our mechanic and requested on the fly - much more conveniently than Pegasus vehicles.

 

So why - at this point of the game - do we still have a wide range of restrictions on what can be stored?

 

Think about the ability of storing police vehicles and customising them, or neon pink coloured taxis, the Lost Slamvan and lots more. People have requested this sort of thing for a long time, and there's ways you could expand on "Import/ Export" type dealings, so that these vehicles could be introduced in mission(s), and then unlocked. We could have the Clown Van (and perhaps suits) unlocked for use, as well as perhaps the Space Docker after having completed the mission that 'introduced them' to GTA Online.

 

I'd like to leave the video link to the well made Tuners and Outlaws video below, as the "cops and robbers" type affair might be a way of introducing these, by having a corrupt contact on the police force and requiring your player to build up a RAP sheet, Need For Speed style, perhaps...

As for the larger vehicles like commercial and industrial models, the most south-western Pegasus Concierge hangar at LSIA should be converted to be a "Pegasus Vehicle Workshop & Storage" building which would allow up to 10(?) of these vehicles to be stored and customised. You'd be able to customise all other Pegasus Vehicles too, just they wouldn't be stored in that hangar. In other words - this new hangar storage would act as another 10 car garage - mainly designed for larger vehicles which will be designated as "personal vehicles" if chosen to store in there.

 

You'd probably have to exclude aircraft from being classed as personal vehicles, so after you've brought your Hydra to the hangar to chrome out, it would remain on the Pegasus list rather than as a personal vehicle. Hey, this could also allow the Pegasus List to be updated: Land Vehicles/ Aircraft/ Watercraft/ Amphibious.

 

I had a list of vehicles blacklisted from personal vehicle garages from back in 1.32, but that's changed quite a lot since then, but I'll make an updated list and post it in eventually.
Also, depending on the response to this I may consider creating some sort of petition or Rockstar Support post to be upvoted.

What are your thoughts on this - now that we're able to store such armoured vehicles in our garages, do you also think it's about time we were allowed to store previously blacklisted vehicles - such as police cars?

 

Would you impose any limitations on what can be done?

 

Are there any potential issues you can foresee from this, like making the game even more mayhem than it already is?

I think weaponized vehicles and vehicles that can force you to explode them - they shouldn't have insurance at all, or just shouldn't be PVs period.

 

Everyone complained about the Kuruma - now it's ok for an APC to force you to cough up 20K? That doesn't seem right to me.

True, emergency vehicles still being forbidden to own currently just do not make sense anymore.

Same honestly for stuffing a tank in your garage probably.

 

As for planes and such, that would be problematic considering the vehicles do need to fit their parking spot.

The police cruiser even has 2 tuning kits to choose from. There's literally no reason to restrict them at this point.

 

They would require rework though, because changing the colors on them looks odd most of the time with the liveries ontop not suited for other colors.

I don't have just a problem with the latter, I also have a problem with the former. Back when Online just started, people were able to store jets and tanks with a simple glitch and got patched since that broke the balance, but now it's encouraged? What the f*ck.

I think the reason that we cant store cop cars in our garage is because they play on making an update involving cops and crooks or something along those lines in the future. I can totally see an update that brings the stun gun, a new shotgun, and maybe a new AR along with new cop car super car, muscle car, and sports car variants of vehicles that we have in the game.

Well insurance and bad sport points is another kettle of fish altogether. I had hoped they were omitted from the current vehicles we have, but sadly not.

 

I understand people think the current weaponised vehicles shouldn't have been in garages, but they're obviously there now, and we can't expect that's something RSG are going to change. So I would only hope, now that that's happened, for more possibilities.

I agree to an extent, vehicles like the Burrito and Lost Slamvan should be unblacklisted, but we will never be allowed to own law enforcement vehicles.

I thought that one reliable Rockstar employee/leaker said that they are never going to do that. They considered it but decided they "didn't like the idea of people playing as cops in GTA." I'm not saying that guy is 100% right or that they'll never add it-- but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

They could add more variation of cars in the traffic, like taxis, GTA V single player cars... I'm bored of the same vehicles, considering that all the DLC civilian vehicles don't spawn around the city.

I would love to store this kind of vehicle, but also the old style vigilante things too...

 

A sort of legitimate businesses update, alongside the vigilante thing/cops and robbers theme too...

 

A lockup to store modified police/FIB cars for tasks, and for things like a fire truck, ambulance, taxicab, big rig truck, and a delivery van, all tuned our own way, or crew tagged up...

 

Become a taxi driver, use the cab, you get the picture. Delivering stock to stores, nightclubs, the docks and the like, creating even more passive income, missions and scenarios for role play...

 

Me personally, I want to be a legitimate trucker, hauling all sorts of stocks to the businesses that we and the NPC'S use... I wanna be a cabbie, dropping players or NPC'S around the map to catch a flick... I wanna be a bar owner and dance the night away, like San Andreas, buying/bootlegging booze for players and NPC'S alike...

 

Being a cop and busting businesses like crate runners, car thieves, the bikers running drugs, and the many working with this Agent 14 fella that needs serious investigating, getting people to start running these guns across the city...

 

Or even get my ambulance out to run the victims of said carnage, saving the lives of these poor Los Santos victims of terror and crime, lol...

 

Just don't let us investigate Lester too much, I'd be very afraid to confiscate and research his PC/Laptop... Ha-ha... Very scared!

 

Could be a great few additions, IMO...And I know it's GTA, but players could try to see how long they can 'go straight' for too... Or do what Micheal keeps kidding himself with, and retire from a life of crime altogether, dare I say it...
