Shooting Range Challenges almost impossible on consoles?

So, we can do some challenges in our bunker's shooting range to unlock some stuff but the problem is that the challenges seem really difficult to complete on consoles due to the difficulty of aiming with a thumbstick.

Please don't comment "ahhaha dumb console peasant" or anything stupid like that because this is a serious issue because console players form the majority of GTA Online's player base if I

am not completely mistaken. I've seen someone post a glitch how to complete them but once that gets patched we are screwed. What kind of thoughts do you guys have?

Nah, you're right though. A lot of people have complained about this and it seems to be a serious issue... apparently a mouse + mouse pad is much more forgiving due to the ease of aim and all that. Rockstar needs to patch this as soon as possible.

No. It's hard but not impossible to complete. Just upgrade the weapons and shoot in the head for more points.

It should be patched but unfortunately I think that R* does not really care enough to do anything about it + if they were ever to patch it we would have to wait until the next update and it could take months before a new update is released because Rockstar is just drip feeding us now

Unless using an xbox one controller on pc still does not give the same experience somehow what someone has on CG vonsoles, it is not that hard.

 

I did need extended magazines on everything and i used the mk2 guns, but yea...did them 2 times by now and found them not that hard...especially the automatic weapons are easy.

 

Edit: really...do not like the challenge dont try it...or let someone else do them for you.

 

For once rockstar implements something of a challenge in this game that is not pvp and lone wolf friendly and people still complain....jeezes....

it's not that bad lol just takes some practice but i do have to say out of all the shooting ranges i've done in all GTAs (Vice City, San Andreas, Chinatown Wars and V) this one was the most difficult i've ever completed lol

 

just upgrade your weapons to MK II except for the carbine and maybe assault (was able to do with 60 bullets and the target score is lower than the carbine challenges) cause you need the drum mag unless you could beat scores 2800 and 3000 in 60 bullets lol

It's difficult but not impossible. There are people showing they have done Tier 3 on console.

Personally I've done all Tier 1s except Pistol (395/400 best so far).

 

Adjust your settings, change deadzone and sensitivity, learn where to shoot to get the best scores (red parts, ideally head). Get the multiplier up early on quickly by getting body shots then go for the head. Use extended clips and accessories to help with recoil.

 

SMG, AR, CR & MG were all a piece of cake on Tier 1, Sniper wasn't much harder, pistol was just being a pain due to no extended clip and nothing to counter recoil.

 

Plus 80% of it's the luck of the draw. Getting the targets popping up in a good order makes it a lot easier.

Alright, I managed to complete tier 1 challenges pretty easily but tier 2 and especially tier 3 challenges seem way to unforgiving for console players no matter how much you f*ck around with those settings in my opinion + that glitch has been patched already so f*ck

Do you play freeaim or autoaim? If your using autoaim it will help to switch so you get more practice in general.

I suggest reading the tips in the other shooting range thread. I did find these very hard and there's a lot of luck involved with the target patterns you get, but after many attempts I've beaten all three tiers. I'm probably a mildly above-average aimer, playing on XB1.

I usually play autoaim, but I played for some time with freeaim for practice yesterday before beating those first tier challenges

A lot is luck.

 

My Carbine one was the easiest but I had 2 targets one behind the other, just going between them. Minor movement for aiming (probably didn't need to but wouldn't have got the +45) and a score much more than the target score.

 

I'm still on T2 but the desire to hold more explosives isn't there, the unlockable clothing wont be worn so I'd rather get on with other things that earn me money currently. T1 is what I wanted for the Platinum tint, I have that, I'll return to it when other activities begin to bore me.
