Jobuilt Phantom Custom Appreciation Thread

/\ the engine sound of it is a wonderful thing aswell. I love driving in 1st person with it, and when ur just in the right speed and rpms, u can hold the speed there for a really cool deep rumble sound which is eargasm when u turn up the volume. And when u smash on the gas pedal holy sh*t does it sound good! never thought R* would give us a *cool big rig* in this game after all the years we been waiting for one.

 

Yeah, we may not have gotten a full-blown truck update, but the Phantom Custom really sates the appetite for ownable, customizable trucks.

 

Good-looking, sounds good, surprisingly fast, a good rammer, and very well-protected. Can't really ask for more, even though the limited spawn locations are inconvenient at times.

 

 

 

... okay, maybe I wanted a Hauler with all those decorative armor optional and competitive performance, but that's Rockstar we're talking about.

Always owned the Hauler, but I always preferred the look of the Phantom. With it being on offer, I simply couldn't pass it up.

 

 

Tons of fun and the engine sound is sweet. I hear like some gear whine as well, which sounds ace.

I definitely think we wont ever get a dedicated truck dlc or even more semi trucks in the future that we can customize. That is, unless R* add some sort of *storage* system in the bunker like with the aircraft in the hangar. That way we can buy 1 of each semi truck available, customize it and choose which we want as the main for our moc. And if u dont have moc active u could choose to only call a truck without trailer and choose which one u want. If we do get more trucks in the future, Im hoping they will be customizable and have bigger variety of mods. More truck variety too. Classic, modern, maybe even a parody of the tesla semi? I think this is a better alternative to the night shark since it doesn't allow for any drive by weapons unless one goes without the armor plate which gives no window protection whatsoever.

Can the phantom hauler be spawn by calling the mechanic not just in free roam by in contact missions and heists with out the moc trailer attached? 

How does the speed and acceleration compare to the insurgent when fully upgraded?

1) No. Only in freemode with the trailer.

 

2) Much faster, Sports Car fast if not Super.

But it can still be spawn to complete vip and mc work? 

If i use my drive by weapons, will the glass break?

And there are many spawnpoints, as Avenger. 

 

You can reverse it as Insurgent SUV, if you see what I mean.

So it's wont spawn near me like a personal vehicle delivered from the mechanic but more like a Pegasus vehcile from selected points on the map ?

Yep, but there are a lot of spawnpoints for the MOC. It never really spawns far away. Should never take more than 30 seconds to get to your MOC if you use the CEO spawned sanchez or anything like that.

A few more questions

1) Can i respawn over a current spawn cab even if it is not destoyed. If so will the respawn cab be in a brand new fully repaired state. I assume both the cab and moc trailer will be respawn regardless which gets destroyed.

2) Will i have the option to choose who entered like a pv vehicle eg only allow other players to ride as passenger, kick people out if stolen, open vehicle doors/hood/bonnet?

3) Is there a fee i have to pay for each respawn?

4) i know with the cab detached from the moc trailer and occupied, the cab can take a lot of explosive approx 23 rpg and over 60 homing. However a YouTube video showed it only takes 1 rpg to destoyed the cab when attached to the moc trailer. However this test was done with the moc unoccupied but still. Does the low health phenomenon still apply to the cab when occupied? If so how many rpg can the cab take in this scenario?

1) I don't really understand that question, can you try again with better English? 
If you call out or drive out your MOC, it'll have full health. If you send it back to storage and then call it out again, it'll have full health. 
And no, if the MOC Cab (Hauler or Phantom Custom) is destroyed, the MOC trailer will continue to exist and be usable - unless it's destroyed already from itself being damaged.

3) No. 

 

4) 67 Homing Missiles to be precise, when occupied. Many vehicles in the game have less armour / resistance when they're unoccupied.

I've never experienced an armour bug from any of my testing, and no, it takes more than 1 RPG even when the Cab is attached to the Trailer to destroy either the Cab or the Trailer. 
It should still be 23 RPGs when occupied regardless, but I don't really test that sorry (as the Phantom / Hauler Custom and the MOC Trailer are two separate things).

It should be noted that if you ditch the trailer to go on a rampage with the cab, and another player destroys the trailer, you will be kicked out of the cab as the game will think the whole MOC is destroyed.

 

Very annoying, but luckily not every player around knows this.

Since the game kicks out the player out of the cab when the trailer gets detroyed, is it possible to leave the trailer behind when existing the bunker so that way it will be safe. 

- Also is there a spawn cool down time? 

-When driving the cab without the trailer, does the player show up as a special or normal icon on the blip cos technically the cab isn't a weoponized vehicle.

The Phantom Custom or Hauler Custom is the truck which pulls the MOC trailer. 
It can't be purchased or owned separately.

1) Yes, the same as any other vehicle in the game.You obviously can't call it out if you're using it.

1) 4 minute cooldown between requests. 
2) As before, no special blip when driving just the truck. 

 

Also, you should remember where you park your Cab if you disconnect it from the Trailer, as there's no blip on the map whatsoever (not even for you, the owner).

Even without showing on the blip, a cant image a trailer this large to easy to hid.

No, you can't. 

If you want the MOC Cab, the Trailer will have to be out too.

For the MOC trailer, I've found the results are the same occupied / unoccupied. 
It should be 20 Homing Missiles or 20 RPGs to destroy it - only re-tested that a few weeks ago.
