I am replaying Vice again because I am stuck at 98% and I am sick of hitting the jumps for hours and hours. (I have 35 of 36). So I was wondering if anyone knew off hand what mission you have to complete to get to the 2nd island? My plan is to get all the jumps and packages and other sh*t out of the way first.

No because the rifle range is on THE SECOND ISLAND. I have not got there yet, HENCE THE QUESTION. I started a new game and I want to get the 2nd island open as quick as possible. The rifle range has no bearing on my question anyways. cmon now :sui:

You have to finish the mission 'Guardian Angel.' Then you get a call from Diaz, and your off to his mansion.

The mission for Starfish Island: Guardian Angels

The mission for the second mainland: The Fastest Boat(I believe)

the mission that opens up the big west island, which i assume is the one u are talking about, is "Phenom Penh 86" which u get from diaz.

Exactly.

"Phenom Penh 86", just for clarification, is the mission where Lance is flying a helicopter and you're shooting, what I assume are, Mexicans in thier hide-out.

After the mission, the radio tells you that the mainland has now been reopened since the Hurricane didn't come near Vice City.

Phnom Pehn '86 has to be one of the greatest missions of Vice City it is awesome to shoot from a whirlybird. Anyone agree?

Yep it was a right laugh using the M60 for the first time.  It took me a couple of goes to get my eye in.  I found that crouching helped a lot.  Lance could have done with a few more lessons to keep it stable.

I reckon there should have been a couple more missions where you could be the gunner.
