Take Two vs. Modding

GTA V's main cheater issue is due to memory hacking and not file modding. OpenIV is a file modder.

Tell that to the guys at T2.

They kept using that for 3 years and never thought "What would happen if cheaters figured out how to use this?"

They f*ck up your online environment, there's your answer.

Scripted events that mess with your stats, one that force you to load cutscenes, other that gives you RP and GTA$ through multiple ways (SecuroServ, being near CEO/MC ..etc)

That's the first thing you're supposed to prevent with your anti-cheat, not ignore it and pray cheaters won't figure it out.

I don't think they will stop with Open IV, pretty much will stop everything modding-related.

GTA5-Mods is probably their next target.

They have to protect their precious GTA Online.

You know what? I bet you that this is fake. You know how easy it would be to send a fake letter "from Take Two"?

Take Two wouldn't leave tons of grammer errors. I think you guys should ignore it. Don't let some dumbass kid stop this project.

I should add that Take Two can't do sh*t to you because your in Russia.

Rockstar never cared about modding nor supported it,and never will.

Well they did promote sp mods in the past...

It's super lame, but sending death threats to the guys who run these companies is even more lame.

This CLEARLY isn't on Rockstar. Look at this job position they have up for a few months now.

http://www.rockstargames.com/careers/openings/position/731f9406

"Rockstar NYC is looking for a highly capable and experienced machinima capture artist and video editor. Can you make amazing cinematic shorts in games by modding them to your will? Can you tell a story? Do you have a sense of humor? Have you played several Rockstar titles to completion?"

Rockstar and Take-Two are pretty much the same company bro. They could've stopped this and they didn't. With Leslie Benzies fired and modding halted, these games are garbage. Edited by D T

Good thing that i backed up my open iv installation to an obscure hosting site. Now i don't have to worry about it. :)

Just block OpenIV using Avast, it works just fine here.

I am interested in one thing. Is there a way to backup this tool for the future use? I was lucky enough not to update it and it still works, but only offline.

Let's create, write and do the biggest petition in the world to restore the ability to create and use OpenV for modding purposes. Get a lot of votes against Take Two and show them as a response to players and the entire GTA community and other rockstar games.

Perhaps there is a chance yet to change this stupid, sh*t decision.

@GooD-NTS

What do You think about it? Let's not give up quickly.

We need to stop this F*cking madness f*ck t2

Let's show our strength. Let's sign up. Let's address the petition to other places. NIech will all learn from our dissatisfaction.

You know what the solution is, personally I'm going to release my game breaking, gameplay ruining content online and turn it in to landscape that people don't want to be in anymore.

f*ck T2, f*ck Rockstar for being nice people and long live the cancerous community that can destroy a game by making it unbearable for legit players.

Mr zelnick chopping that wood. First step: Don't acknowledge any single player dlc existing, step 2: Take down red dead redemption v and announce your intentions to push microtransactions even further, step 3:Kill gta modding and possibly the single player for all of your company's games from now on step 4: Profit.

This is a good point, actually.

@GooD-NTS: Have you been back and forth in contact with these people? Is there anything that suggests to you that it really is Take Two?

Was the letter sent from a law firm? I suggest calling them and confirming the validity of the letter.

Oh God... -.- So Rockstar is leaning towards the crappy side of the video games world like Valve and some other companies (let's just wait until they announce crap like paid mods - the same crap Betheseda announced a few days ago).

Thank you for developing a thing as great as OpenIV for was. I (and I am sure the modding community will agree with me) was pleased to be one of the people who had the chance to use it while the time lasted. Thank you for everything.

This is no surprise tho. Take 2's efforts to hinder the mod scene has obvious for a while now. Those money hungry greedy bastards bluff legal action towards any little thing that shows slightest amount of threat against GTA Online. f*ck T2 & R*
