Look on the bright side, OpenIV is back and will have to wait a few days for good-nts to talk.

@SaveOpenIV

You are right, but things were different before Special Races DLC, it was possible to go to Online with modified unencrypted RPF archives using OpenIV.asi, but it was a really lame way. Why? There is no possibility to manipulate Online players like giving them money, blowing them up, etc. And script kids were afraid of that (at least these smart ones who wrote scripts).

Yea, you only was able to dsync yourself using car mods or something.

I knew that, I was just saying after as I looked into the newer GTAV.exe, so that's my bad. Sorry, gentlemen.

That's true, if it was 1.38 / if I remember? Then yes, they didn't check the update\update.rpf, and "script mods" were present until they added the same check against the crc32 of the files further throwing the sequence out of wack once again, which is good. Cause, they had modded monster truck scripts which were cool, but horrible online.

I know it's hard waiting, but I'm sure Good-NTS will post soon.

He, no doubt will at his own discretion when he knows the time is right. Time heals all wounds, and patience is the key to happiness my friend.

not like he needs to post really, OpenIV is working fine - this leads me to believe the tool itself will not undergo any changes

I'm just beginning to think but what if Take Two and R* didn't want the LibV mod because they had plans on making a remastered version of GTA IV using the exact version of the Rage engine that was used for GTA V? Now I don't think it would happen but I'm just saying what if honestly I want to see that happen that would be cool.

Well, that is possible, we know for sure that Liberty City at some point during the dev. of GTA 5 was on the new RAGE Engine, the foliage was also different.

So that isn't impossible that they have some plan on Liberty City for GTA 5 ...

Honestly I could care less about Liberty City coming to GTA V. Sure having both in the same game is nice but it just got boring and repetitive constantly being in a concrete jungle. One thing I like about GTA V's map is how diverse the environment is.

I'd rather have a way to keep both HD era and 3D era San Andreas in the same game.

Y'know, just for sh*ts n' giggles.

I heard in a german article and video that the OpenIV update contains security fixes for GTA Online, and that R* and T2 will leave offline mods alone what ever they have on copyright problems. But the thing is, i never heard or read that from other sites. Very wried, where got they this information, its new to me. I thought the OpenIV update only remove the message and add a "Thanks to Rockstar Games" message under credits.

It really does baffle me as to why Good will not make some sort of statement to let the community know what is happening, still all the signs are good.

............by any chance to Rockford Hills courtesy of R*?Wouldn't be surprised if they ended up hiring him lol

If they did hire him, they'll probably put him in charge of handling the online script kiddies since he knows modding better than Rockstar does. He could probably make a bunch of measures to implement into the game that will make the online portion of the game 100x harder to get a modmenu to work in online. HE COULD BE THE ONLY PERSON CAPABLE OF KEEPING ONLINE SAFE! Hire him Rockstar!
