That's very cool to see OPENIV back ! ( its really back yes ? )

Quick question, what's changed compare to the "preview versoin" ? did they had to cut out things from their OPENIV ?

I really, really hope that LC in V will continue, having to play with 2fps in FiveM conversions wasn't nice at all.

I've seen more maturity here and it's that's how we make a difference.

I stopped visiting gtaforums.com many years ago because it appeared to have been overrun with sh*tposts / reaction gifs / worthless comments (i.e. "me too"). Please tell me, has things improved around here? Maybe I should come back.

Not really, no :p

We still have no official word from Good-NTS. Why are we celebrating?

It's going to cause mixed messages, and it might as well be a "we quit" if they intend to double down against mods instead.

Again, concrete evidence first. Congratulations later.

So, I am a lilttle bit late but what really happened in the scene?

Is OpenIV coming back? LibV & RDRV too ?

Edit- Figured it out myself from here.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to give R* a free pass on this. Yes, it's great that our efforts appear to have paid off, but I am not convinced by R*'s attempt to position themselves as the good guys in this fiasco. Remember FiveM? Remember their attempt to throw the entire modding community under the bus over the Hot Coffee code? This may well have been their idea from the off - bulldoze anything that threatens to stand in the way of their precious revenue stream and try to punt the blame off to the publisher when things inevitably got heated. We had one fallacious statement, followed by a week of total radio silence in the hope that it would all blow over. Thankfully, it didn't, and the status quo would at least on the surface appear to have been restored. I hate to be negative, but if anyone thinks that something similar won't happen again with RDR2/RDO or GTAVI/GTAOII (whichever is more plausible), then they are woefully naive.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that GTAV is the last GTA game we see on PC because of this.

My thoughts exactly. It's great to see the community come together like this (this is the most I've been on the forums here for a long time) and yeah, this is a great victory, but I'm still hesitant to see the future as all rainbows and butterflies.

RDRV I can understand...but LibV was not to be a converted map, it was to be a tool that allowed users to convert the map from a copy of GTA4 they owned. Something someone could do off their own back with OpenIV, modelling tools and a little knowledge about the formats. As far as I am concerned if that is not allowed then this protest is not over. Im dissapointed that you can't really do much for map modding.

Making a map from scratch takes time, and even that we're not completely sure if Take Two would even allow it. They may or may not shut down user created maps, its a so-so.

If there is an Open IV update that does not ask to uninstall it, something has changed. :)

We'll see if it's a Matrix defect! XD

You can download from the links here and updated it without problems or wait until they put the download button available again.

Yes OpenIV and scripthook are allowed, FOR SINGLE PLAYER.

It's a matter of trust. If we can protect multi, solo will be protected. So we should be cooperative with R* and T2 so that everybody is happy and help each other. They earn money, solo and multi players get fun. And modding should be able to continue in next games.

If it means having LITTLE less freedom for modding, I am ok.

There is no mission complete text in gta IV.

When you lose, you restart on your phone, when you win, you only have the music.

and red or not honestly, I don't give a f*ck ahah

There is red text why you failed, yellow are objectives

I know you don't care, because you are a f french, you people never cared, capitulated even before fight :D:D

LibV and RDRV can not come back.

I mean, I can see why the RDRV map can't come back, because the game is exclusive to consoles, we'd probably have to download the map ourselves, and that would be considered a copy. Not the case with LibV where you guys said we'd need to have a legit copy of GTA IV to have it, then the map technically wouldn't be a copy per say, you just made GTA V read the IV files, both untouched in R*'s files.

GooD could try to say that, but I think we'd be better this way. We saw T2 is very unhappy with mods, so it's better that we don't start playing with fire so soon.

Also, Rockstar could put some sort of tag on files for Online and say to GooD to program OpenIV to not edit those files.

I never capitulate, I never lose a mission*, that is why I didn't know there was a red text when you fail.

*I'm just too good

Better to just split the codebase into two so that GTA Online is it's own title completely, as intended

Problem is while the tool requires IV's source files to work, it can't possibly check whether the files is pirated/shared or not. People can easily share the source / converted files, giving other people who don't own IV access to LC in GTA 5 and R* won't get any money in this.

Exactly. LibV, while sounding good in theory, was a major instigator in this whole CF. Hopefully now that things have calmed down, people will be a little more careful here.

I'm sorry to be a little bit OT but since seems that OpenIV might be coming back, someone could please give me, or tell, a secure link that let me redownload the program? Even if is a older version, nevermind. As i understand nobody knows if the program can be downloaded from the official site, no?

P.S. Excuse me if my english is not good :)
