Yes, yes it is: http://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/

I wonder how this whole situation will change in a couple of months...probably nothing will change, but I'm a realist type of guy.

Is anyone still crashing even with the new Script hook? Removing the dinput8.dll doesn't make the game crash.

I'll quote myself way back from page 76:

Because it's not uncommon for such documents to not be shared with the general public, mainly because it contains names, addresses, personal information, private corporate bullsh*t, you'd get a fairly blacked out, nigh unreadable document if that all was to be censored, so usually agreeing to said document means not sharing it with the masses, that's why it's not posted on any of the gaming websites, they've seen it to verify it's validity (which is allowed to a certain degree) but beyond that they can't do anything with it publishing wise.

That's why you won't get to see the C&D letter.

Then why doesnt GoodNts make a version of the C&D WITHOUT all the names and adresses

I literally wrote that in my quote, but let me emphasize it for you: "...you'd get a fairly blacked out, nigh unreadable document if that all was to be censored, so usually agreeing to said document means not sharing it with the masses"

That's why the journalists who have seen it, only mentioned they've seen it and verified it's authenticity, they didn't publish the C&D letter, censored or not, even tho such a thing would get much more views on their article, because:

A. Censored it would be damn near unreadable

B. It's most likely NOT ALLOWED.

Awnser to B

So what if it *leaked*

As the only parties that hold the C&D agreement are Take-Two's legal division, their Russian lawyers, and the OpenIV team, it had to be one of them who leaked it, if the OpenIV team leaked it would not be that hard to track down, just by checking if it was leaked from either Take-Two or their Russian lawyers, if those two are excluded it could have only come from the OpenIV team.

Though depends how it is set within the C&D, if it's stated as something as that by agreeing to the document further details within the document are to be withheld from 3rd parties, then they could possibly be in breach of the C&D agreement, and open to further legal action which could include Breach of Contract.

That idiot should really stop updating this mod, if he knows whats good for him. No stupid mod is worth the lawsuit that can destroy his life.

It's 50% off, no wonder it's selling like hotcakes, heck all the fuss we kicked up only is gonna add to the sales, people wanna try modding now, and lets not forget the huge popularity of the GTAV RP streams on Twitch, people want to try that too, and you need a legal copy, and a Social Club account for FiveM to even work, so ya...it was going to sell good no matter what.

It was always going to be a statistic that Take-Two was going to abuse ("Look at how many copies of GTAV we sold during the summer sale") but don't care about, remember, if you're not buying Shark Cards you're filthy freeloader.

Question:

I have OpenIV installed on my PC, but I just checked and its version 2.8. I just did a clean install of GTA V again, to start modding all over again. Anyway, the last version of OpenIV, I believe, is version 2.9. Will version 2.8 still work?

I ask because they obviously took down OpenIV, so if my version still works, then cool.

At 50% off I think I am gonna buy the steam version, might buy a few shark cards to go with.....Just kidding!

Does the officially released SH work or does it still hang the loading screen?

Worked for me when I tried it last night (just have the enhanced native trainer in there along with it, nothing else)

I still can't get it to work. So it's still R.I.P. modding for me.

Downgrade?

I don't get it ... So many people saying modding is dead. Modding is not dead. It's a boy who is not getting any older. He will stay as it is.

Just don't update GTA V and modding will work fine.

People need to be informed about that fact.

I just tried it on a completely clean, fresh install of the game. I had some issues a month ago with mods, hence the uninstall and reinstall yesterday.

Long story short, when uninstalled, I left all my scripts and my Mod Manager with all its files intact. So I copied over the latest ScriptHookV with the Native Trainer (I used the one with the Mobile Radio, though) and it all works.

Then, I tested out some of my mods that don't use OpenV (such as "No Restricted Areas" and "reveal-full-map) and luckily they all worked, including the Native Trainer and the Mobile Radio. I am going to try LeFix Speedo next. I am trying to be extra careful, attempting to add only one mod at a time with my mod manager, to make sure nothing crashes my updated game.

At some point soon, I will try some of the Open IV mods that used to work with the game.

Gee, I wonder who leaked this C&D, was it:

A) Take-Two, making themselves look bad

B) The international law firm, ruining their contract

Or

C) The person whose personal information is edited out

Such a mystery if it were to happen.

Spare me with all the twist reasoning bullsh*t.

Nobody is buying a game that banned modding for modding and $30 is still a lot for a 5 year old game.

The fact the game is still selling strong despite all the negative press proves Take-Two was right in thinking the modding community is an insignificant loud minority.

GTA modding is officially dead.

Once RDR2 or whatever it is comes out and gains traction - it's only a matter of time before GTA itself is dead (not just modding)

GTA will never die.

Its the biggest gaming franchise and VI will be a monster.

A monster with no mod support whatsoever.

Might as well be.

No point in buying a GTA game on PC with no mod support especially when there is a console now capable of doing 4K 60FPS.

What does this mean for the situation between Take Two/R* and the OpenIV team? AB was in the talks, and then releases this, indicating the talks have finished. Is there no risk for SP modding? Are there better safeguards against patching SHV?

I'd really like to know what the outcome is.

Don't forget that it was leaked first. After that there was no point keeping it down, so he released it.

I was thinking about getting Mafia III on sale, but then I remembered:

1. It got pretty bad reviews.

2. It's published by Take Two.

So, definitely not worth $14.79...

At least you didn't make the mistake I did and pre-ordered it for full price........
