I think this sort of thing will make T2 feel justified is their recent actions.

Well this is wonderful. My add ons don't work and all of the gameconfigs on GTA5-Mods are sh*t. They crash. One of them even loads for ever.

 

I am thinking of rolling back to the old patch. My add ons are far better than sh*tty Gun Running.

Funnily enough I can't even get the game to load with the new SH so I am using the old version.

You may be right. And under almost any other circumstances, I would completely agree with you. However, given Take2's actions, this situation is very unique. Now, I do not want to speak for Alexander Blade, and so I just want to offer an opinion here. Or at least an alternate interpretation of this situation.

 

If I were Mr. Blade, I would SILENTLY be very happy to see people "steal" my mods and host them on their sites.

 

Why?

 

Well, because, as you probably already know, he is also part of the OpenIV team. So he probably has no earthly idea if Take2's lawyers also mean to target ScriptHookV as well as OpenIV. The entire OpenIV team is probably on pins and needles right now, with absolutely no idea what the f*ck to do with their current "non OpenIV mods" currently on the table. Now, again, I may be wrong, or maybe there is something I am missing here, but if I am Alexander Blade, I am GRATEFUL in this one instance for people uploading the file to their sites. Because now if the Cease and Desist does end up covering ScriptHookV under sme legal umbrella, then at least people can still get the files that he and his team slaved over for years.

 

If I were Mr. Blade I would be grateful because if Take2's lawyers came knocking on my door, I can just shrug my shoulders and say, "Sorry, boys. It wasn't me. I never gave anyone permission or encouraged them to share my files."

 

Where I come from, that's called plausible deniability. It may, in fact, be the ONLY way that Mr. Blade and his colleagues can see their work not die.

Everybody believes Blade is 'laying low', but he's not.

I bet my ass he's given up on the project. I wouldn't blame him, if I had a multi-billion dollar company coming after my ass, I too would say "f*ck it" to the community or whatever and agree to their demands, and there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with self-protection, because out of the thousands of modders ( READ: download mod from GTA5-mods.com, and install it through OpenIV, if there's an auto-installer, well and great, like me ), half of them wouldn't defend him ( actively; yes, most are helpless, like me ) in a hypothetical T2 vs Blade fistfight.

But, there are some people here, mostly coders, like SilentPL, That austrian guy with daft punk profile pic whytf i keep forgetting his name, Aru etc. who are keen to offer help to get him back on track but most here ( including me a couple of pages ago ) were just raging for no reason for something that's not going to happen.

 

I DO hope that SHV update releases, but I'm not expecting anything within 2-3 months.

So, everyone moved on...

So, GTA Modders will now have to move on to GTA 3D Modding.

I don't expect GTAV modding to shut down, there might be a lull until we get an actual replacement for OpenIV which might be several weeks or several months long, but it will pick back up no doubt, there's probably more interest in modding now then before, just because of the sh*tstorm we kicked up, people are curious now, this whole action might just bite Take-Two in the ass when it comes to single player modding. That's why the journalists who have seen it, only mentioned they've seen it and verified it's authenticity, they didn't publish the C&D letter, censored or not, even tho such a thing would get much more views on their article, because:

A. Censored it would be damn near unreadable

B. It's most likely NOT ALLOWED.
