[SPOILERS] My interpretation of when GTA Online's story happens

Sure Rockstar confirmed that GTA O happens after V's singleplayer story, and I think that's correct but only to some extent.

 

This is the way I interpret it the way it happens:

 

1. GTA Online character arrives

 

2. Contact missions happen in unlock order

 

Judging The Jury happens, which is referenced in GTA V's main story later on, Franklin mentions how Madrazo got all Juror's killed

You get to bail Gustavo Mota out

You get to meet Dom before the story

 

3. Heists happen

You get to meet less mature Lester, and Paige

You get to meet Eddie Toh

You get to meet Agent 14 and Karen/Michelle, watch them bail a guy out and then steal the formula to neurotoxin for the IAA

You get to meet Trevor, and you can notice him keep the molly-packed action figure of Impotent Rage[/i]

 

4. GTA V's Singleplayer Story happens

Lester indirectly mentions the GTA O protag, saying they're unreliable

You can see Trevor getting pissed at his action figure of Impotent Rage get destroyed

You get to see Michael and Trevor steal the neurotoxin

Dom dies

 

5. Lowrider Missions Happen

You get to see the lowrider shop reopen which was closed in SP

 

6. VIP/CEO stuff happen, Bikers happen, Import/Export happens in that order

 

7. Gunrunning Happens

You get to meet Agent 14 again and he mentions how Dome died

 

Honestly, many people don't give a sh*t about this, but this is for the people who do.

Actually no, Rockstar stated it takes place before GTA V's story.

The Import/Export stuff happens after Story Mode.

Cause they were the first ones to rob the Union Depository, but in the first SV mission with the Ramp Buggy you extract some robbers from the UD.

 

And someone mentioned Agent 14 saying "It's 2017..." in the Tampa mission.

 

Too bad we won't see Michael or Trevor in any future updates

That gave me an idea. What if it were possible to see the main characters from GTA V in GTA Online freemode, and you could kill them with throwables and hitting them with a car? But they would text you that your character will pay their medical bills, just like story mode. Except whatever price it would be adjusted to for GTA Online.
