GunRunning update and Jets: what has changed?

I'm not gonna be able to fire up my PS4 for a couple of days and find out these things myself, but I got to know anyway.

 

 

1 - Is the Anti-Aircraft thingy capable of shooting down Jets, or is it (as I think) only good against those flying coffins that in this game are mistakenly named "helicopters"?

 

2 - Can a Heavy Sniper rifle with explosive rounds take down a Jet? And how many bullets does it take to do so?

 

3 - I saw a guy here (don't remember whom, sorry) that posted codes file for the Lazers pointing out that some values had been modified: what has changed? And does it applies to Hydras as well?

Apparently the Lazer became twice as heavy & subjected to turbulences. I don't remember seeing anything regarding the hydra.

 

I can't really speak about the other two, I haven't spent much time playing today.

I never saw a jet while in public lobbies this morning. Everyone was emptying their wallets and trying to move supplies or unlock the new stuff.

In terms of taking down hydras, I don't think anything has changed. Someone told me that the AA guns don't even lock on.

They nerfed the Lazer. The AA vehicles don't seem like a huge problem for jets - from what I've seen.

 

But the nerf - and more importantly the explosive rounds - are kind of going to be a game-changer. A game-killer for anything else that flies (but f*ck balance because everything has to go out the window to fight one vehicle).

 

With explosive rounds I see jets as a non-issue.

The SAM on the APC is useless and dont work the way they were supposed to, you can easily evade all the rockets from him, since its do not lock on targets and has a slow SAM turning speed (at least for me when i played with)

 

The Anti Aircraft trailer actually has a functional AA gun (both quad and SAM) and the SAM missiles lock on things, so it might actually be a good jet killer

Rockstar forced themselves into a corner with their own reluctance to implement much needed balance changes. Unfortunately something had to give, so we got the explosive Heavy Sniper. The saving grace being that it has limited ammo (6 + 36 in reserve) and can only be restocked in an MOC.

 

I guess time will tell what the ramifications its presence will have on the meta game.

 

It's a shame really, helicopters never seem to catch a break when it comes to the endless war between foot soldiers and jets. :/

but the buddard will be useless completely now. atleast you had a chance with homers, but now flying directly at people or hiding behind buildings will just mean you explode.

Granted the homing rocket is fire and forget. You actually have to aim with the Heavy Sniper. I'm not saying it won't be trouble for choppers, I even mentioned that in my post, just that its pretty generous to assume people are going to be hitting every shot.

 

MOC's also have predetermined spawn locations, so it isn't as if their resupply will always be right next to them.

 

What happens to your regular ammo once you switch to Explosive rounds?

Your regular ammo is still kept and used by the other weapons in the same weapon class.

 

You can only change ammo types or restock special ammo in a MOC.

It takes two explosive ammo shots to take down a hydra. The AA missles on the trailer seems to be way better than homing launcher in terms of missles following the target. So r* basically made using any aircraft in the game absolutely pointless.

Can't lie felt good sniping that hydra yesterday with explosive rounds, too bad he was able to destroy another guys sell mission before i got him. Hydra trolls will adapt eventually.

The first time I left my bunker in a public lobby, I was instantly killed with the explosive sniper.

 

What was Rockstar thinking? They could have just made the APC have lock on missile that only lock on the weaponized vehicles. They have no idea how to balance games.

A solution to jets behind a pay wall so high only jet griefers with modded accounts can afford it. Also its a free aim option.

 

Although once a bunch of people have explosive rounds, jets will be pretty much useless against an average player. The positive in that alot of players will have to compromise their hvy sniper as an anti jet tool. The jets days appear to be numbered.

 

Kindve sad gun fights on the ground may never be the same. People will be running to their trailor when they run out of ammo.

The AA trailer DOES lock on, however its just as easy to evade the missiles as it is to evade HL rockets, in a jet. So its effectively, useless.

i was in a jet earlier and foolishly decided to take out someones weapons shipment , he never got out the vehicle but took my jet out with one shot , think it mighta been the flac with tracks on the back. i didnt even see it coming lol

Lazer cannot respawn endlessly whenever you want. You need to go to Fort Zancudo, and then get back to the city. If destroyed, all the way again.

And you only need to pay 200$ for Pegasus, not 5k or whatever it is for blind eye, and it gets spawn in multiple places.

 

All in all, it's much more time consuming and there's a risk percentage than getting an Hydra, therefor is harder.

 

Think twice before you say those kind of things.

I dont think rockstar have ever made any significant changes to vehicles that you have to buy before have they? (Apart from to fix bugs)

And it makes perfect sense that they don't, because while you may have had the hydra for ever, chances are lots of people are just buying it now and they would be very unhappy to buy it as it got nerfed. The back-lash that rockstar would get from nerfing the hydra would be so much worse than just leaving it how it is.

Personally I feel rockstar made the best decision possible out of their current options. They nerfed the lazer, because it doesnt really dis-advatage anyone as it cannot be purchased, and made it easier to shoot down hydra's, like lots of people requested.

I 100% garutnee with complete certainty, that if rockstar nerfed the hydra, everyone would complain that they nerfed it too much. Also it wouldn't change anything, the hydra would then be far too under-powered for its money and people (like me and many others) who just use the hydra as a quick A-B transportation system are the only people who would really be disadvantaged by the nerf, and these people are not even the problem in the first place!!!

In retrospect, rockstar probably agrees that they made the hydra too overpowered, but they have to deal with the situation they are in now, and nerfing the hydra is simply not a viable option.

Aĺl the way again? The rocket bike is so fun and such a fast way to travel. That would be the best part going all the way back again

Already doing.

First i will make you waste your sniper rounds by going into a 1vs1, and once that happened i will run to my hydra :p

 

And if that does not work, i simply bother someone else.

 

Oh, and till now i was always in time to bail out before the second explosive round hit me, so there is that.

I don't understand the bitching about jets. I've not noticed a single difference in the amout of jets, I don't see more or less of them. To me on Xbox one I've never really run into anyone skilled enough to be a griefer.

The jet has one mechanics that is not easy to beat - the vertical dive. From what I've seen the AA vehicles have limited angle, they can't just shoot up in the sky at 90 degrees.

Same goes with the sniper - if i'm right above the shooter, he still can't do anything to me.

 

EDIT: I took down the Oppressor today with a Hydra cannon - wasn't a challenge at all.

Lazer wasn't overpowered? Gimme a f*cking break, not a single missile could touch besides the one in the R2K...it was the second best "handling aerial vehicle" in the game, being surpassed only by the Besra.

 

Now for the final nail in the coffin, they should remove the explosive cannons on both jets.

 

If they did that, I wouldnt mind if I lost the explosive ammo, or it were to be nerfed.
