Much longer range, it's pretty noticeable IMO.

I am absolutely loving the MKII guns.

The pistol went from the thing I dropped to the only gun I am using right now.

Sounds amazing, accuracy is awesome.

Gunrunning revitalised my love for this game.

I didn't want to read through 9 pages. Is this normal or a fluke for the MK2 sniper? Was only 1 or 2 shots with standard ammo, haven't unlocked explosive rounds yet.

Also took down the same trolls in a maverick helo right after with 1-2 shots.

One would assume a fluke. But most likely a coding breakdown. One I hope they NEVER fix.

It's kind of what I was leaning towards. We had 4 jets on us last night, we got them all down, but not exploding like that. Could only get them smoking, then the dorks bailed out b4 jets crashed. But for some reason that lobby I took the clip in, i had luck with the MK2.

could please someone test the range (auto aim) of the old big scope and the new holo sight. some people say the holo has a longer range. but the gametext says holo is "good for close range" and the range bar weapon stat is shorter than the old big scope

On the holo sight? Than the optical sights?

But... why.... how.... R*....

Hmm, I bet a quick and dirty Creator session will give me some compliant NPCs at set distances, will have a play. Of course I'll only post the results if they're longer than 10m30s :D

Is FMJ ammo more effective on the Combat SMG as compared to the Assault Rifle? Or are they equal power?

Combat MG? Longer range, more damage, yes - determined by the gun, boosted by the ammo.

I use the heavy sniper in the vehicle source mission where there's a police chopper above the parked car. That way I avoid the car for driving away, resulting in a bad car chase.

What will happen if I put explosive rounds on the heavy sniper? Will the source car be destroyed?

And if so, what type of bullets do you recomnend then? FMJ maybe?

Odds are explosive rounds will blow it up. FMJ probably your best bet. Didn't think it was possible to even get close enough to snipe before it takes off

I hate that car mission, the only one worse than that is the boat + cargobob.

I am estimating by feel alone as i stated above, so please don't simply go on that. Somebody who is capable needs to go through the files and verify in game. I have been playing this game with these weapons for years, and the holo really does seem to improve close and long range accuracy... i.would love to know for sure though!

Fly cargobob to the barge/tugboat, land nearby, spawn buzzard, fire missiles at the enemies at the barges and the tugboat, fly back to cargobob and liftload the vehicle.

Getting the car is all well and good, it's the stupid buzzards that chase you when solo that's so annoying. Good tips tho, ty

Yes, you can outrun those by getting the cargobob go straight up after picking up the car. Don't fly away from the spot, only straight up as high as the cargobob can and only then go forward. Then the buzzards spawn but cannot catch up. You'll lose altitude along the way, but started at this height it doesn't matter...

...But when they're being used by highly skilled players, the results will be devastating. But if you wanna be competitive, you gotta pay the price.

Agreed. A highly-skilled player with deep in-game pockets now has the tools that will enable him to completely dominate. An RNG'er with a fully upgraded carbine and FMJ ammo? A jiggly tryhard with a fully upgraded heavy sniper and incendiary rounds? The gulf between skilled and unskilled, and rich and not-rich players has widened exponentially.
Personally I see Incendiary rounds as more of a novelty. I actually wrote a little analysis of the weapons, but I'm keeping it for my crew's eyes only.Oh wow, I really wish I could see that. I'm sure it would be incredibly helpful and useful, if only I was part of your elite little group that gets to see your extensive knowledge on the new weapons.

Dude, nobody f*cking cares.

No need to be a douchebag... if you aren't interested in his crew or info, why even bother posting?

Is there a list of the weapons' and upgrades' and add-ons' prices?

Specifically the fees to upgrade to MkII versions, the prices of the scopes, heavy barrels, etc.

Will the grass & wooden floors (i.e. Del Pierro pier) catch on fire if I shoot at them with the Explosive Sniper rounds?

I couldn't locate any exact full list; however to upgrade the weapons it ranges from 90K to around 120K, with the Pistol MK II being the least expensive and the Combat MG MK II being the most. The further weapon customizations are 20K to 60K with the new weapon rounds being $300 each.

Will the grass & wooden floors (i.e. Del Pierro pier) catch on fire if I shoot at them with the Explosive Sniper rounds?

It will likely burn within the vicinity of the shot as a Molotov or types of bombs do, but it will not spread.

I detached the scope to have the standart stat bar.

when i hover over the old big scope, and hover over the holo sight, the old big scope raises the range bar more than the holo sight.

even the ingame description says its for close range.

but then the question is: is the holo sight better than he old big scope? which are the advantages?

This has already been discussed either here or another thread as far as advantages to holo sight. And when it comes to the stats, your eyes are playing tricks on you. Put the 'big' scope on your carbine, and then hover over the holo sight, a blue stat increase appears, although it looks like it moves just barely above where it was. Switch and do the same thing with the holo sight ON your gun and hover over the 'big' scope. Its the same thing either way, they both have the same stat increase. Also they increase accuracy, not range.

I am estimating by feel alone as i stated above, so please don't simply go on that. Somebody who is capable needs to go through the files and verify in game. I have been playing this game with these weapons for years, and the holo really does seem to improve close and long range accuracy... i.would love to know for sure though!

I wonder if the close and long range accuracy increase you're feeling isn't simply from the MK2 upgrade itself, rather than the holo sights.

I started to build a shooting range Capture to test this, might actually finish it today.

But a file dump would obv. be preferable.

How much do the muzzles effect the gun?

And does each muzzle have a different effect or do they all have the same effect?

OK, I was totally wrong!

the scopes dont effect the range, they effect on accuracy only.

sorry for the confusion.
