Do any gunsights have any inherent advantages over one another. I ask because according to the stat bars the holo sight makes the gun more accurate than the long range optics.

Gonna ask again.

Bump. I dont have it unlocked and I'd like to know what it's all about. I didn't notice the accuracy change u mention but I'm gonna have another look. I went with the normal scope for now.

I haven't even unlocked them yet, but if they're as potent as the FMJ rounds, one-hit kills will be a lot more frequent.

I haven't unlocked the armor-piercing rounds either yet, but a friend that has said that they do what they say. They take chunks out of your health bar while they take chunks out of your armor, unlike normal ammo that eats up your armor before actually affecting your health.

Wait how potent are FMJ rounds, I thought they were only useful against vehicles.

I dunno exactly. They were doing damage to the NPC's I was using them against, but I didn't get to spend much time with them...

The MOC ammo types are basically nonsense, with the exception of the explosive rounds for the heavy sniper, and also FMJ being able to penetrate bullet-proof and bullet-resistant glass. If you want damage buffs, spam Bullshark Testosterone via CEO Abilities/MC Vice President Abilities.

Changed all my ammo types back to normal cause I'm tired of the special ammo types running out so quick

Don't see myself going back to them until they get an increased cap or something.

I haven't unlocked them all, but to clarify for the sake of the OP...

Tracer rounds leave glowing trails, incendiary rounds explode on contact, armor-piercing rounds shoot through armor (and are prolly a thorn in a Juggernaut's side), and FMJ rounds are geared for shooting into armored vehicles.

Does that sound about right?

Yeah, I'm not really a huge fan of ammo types either. I dump them all for my favorite guns because they ran out to quick. all of them besides the Explosive sniper because it's so good.

Might go back to them every now and then.

I haven't actually played around with the tracer rounds yet. Is there any tactical advantage to them at all or are they just there for show?

I actually find incendiary ammo pretty powerfull for both carbine and combat mg,yeah refilling can be annoying but calling MOC to your destination isn't hard at all and it takes max 30 seconds to get to it.

Haven't used them but I bet they're great for giving your position away.

Either FMJ or AP ammo deplete both health and armor at the same time instead of armor first then health. So they do have a significant function..

And nothing freaks out an opponent like setting them on fire as you're shooting them :D

I've gone with AP in my MG, incendiary in Carbine and explosive sniper obv. But damn I wish I could use the Heavy Sniper Mk2 in normal mode as well.

If FMJ are as good as AP and they penetrate BP glass, I might switch my MG up.

But f*ck me are they all pricey, and inconvenient, and a PITA in missions etc.

We can pull the most ridiculous things out of our asses in gta, we have an interaction menu with so many options, we can spawn vehicles out of thin air but we can't switch our ammo type on the go??? I fail to understand this R*, please make it so that you can switch your ammo type on the go through the interaction menu or D-pad. I rather be able to switch ammo (by pressing left on D-pad) then to throw grenades when aiming down sights. More fun for us and more money that we spend on that special ammo for R* = win-win, no?

Would've been nice if the gun customization went a bit deeper then what we got, there's still a lot of real-life attachments they can add if they want to. The prices are a bit ridiculous as well, you can easily spend half a million on a modified carbine rifle, like WTF? Remember the days we had an update and it was +-80k$ for a new car and +-15k$ for some new weapon? So many people that i know of that stopped playing because they were out of $$$ and tired of grinding and would never ever buy sharkcards. It's getting a bit silly R*, stop it!

I have another opinion about prices and unlockables.

GTA got more and more roleplay-elements and in a classic RPG you can not have every weapon, every gadget etc. you have to choose which one is the best for you, and even then you have to play for it.

the culture of wanting everything the game offers is not my thing.

So I hear you all talking about having to restock upgraded weapons ammo at the MOC. My question is, do you have to restock all upgraded weapons there, or just ones with special ammo?

Same as me,plus I added fmj rounds on assault rifle just for those kuruma low level sh*ts . I have been called cheater multiple times by killing enemies with explosive rounds on heavyy ssniper and setting them on fire with carbine. 10 millions well spent on re-search :D

Special ammo (incendiary, AP, FMJ, explosive) only. You can run stock ammo and a nice big extended mag instead.

Same as me,plus I added fmj rounds on assault rifle just for those kuruma low level sh*ts .

Wait, the FMJ will penetrate armoured cars? DoD, etc?

Not sure about dod but you can kill kuruma drivers with 1 bullet (everything with bulletproof glass is useless against fmj rounds but DoD doesn't really have glass...) Edited by CreepyUncleLester

So yesterday I was only able to get online via an invite only session, so while playing around with the oppressor for fun I joined a random noob running the prison break heist. The incendiary rounds make that combat mg a lot of fun during that mission. Tore up the prison, and the prisoner was all baffled, asking how I was lighting them on fire. Good times.

Pretty effective against BP helmet wearing try hards. That's why my combat MG always has a healthy supply of them.

I wonder if a headshot would be a one-hit kill with the Heavy Sniper... o.O

PSA: If you Enable your Custom loadout, in Ammu-nation you'll see the hidden weapons as purchasable.

So you can hide the normal Grenade Launcher because you have a Compact Grenade Launcher, the accidentally drop 32k on the Grenade Launcher EVEN THOUGH YOU ALREADY HAVE IT.

A heavy sniper with AP ammo vs. A BP helmet is most definitely a one shot kill if that's what you're wondering. GTAmen tested it out in one of his videos.

But how in the hell could you pass up the explosive ammo lol.

Research finished on hollow point ammo, however the magazine is lime green? Are they all gonna be neon day glow or can I change that?

That probably happens because the f*cked something up with the new upgradeable weapons.

That's exactly what I was wondering. Thank you.

Sniper rifle with explosive ammo is silly. It's almost an oxymoron. Camping silently in your perch for hours on end, stealthily waiting for that perfect shot... Only to fire a tiny warhead at your victim. LOL.
