BenMitchell90
Great review but Jumble was the easiest elephant of them all lol. I beat him the very moment I turned lvl 40. The hardest of them all was the bastard in the green mountains. One thing that I do miss, but it kinda makes sense why it's missing, is an upgradable economy system in any form. Whether it's upgrading your villa, buyiny stores in cities ect OR the awesome meta games where you send your ships/assassins on a journey. It makes sence for Bayek to not turn Egypt into a one man monopoly or have a big villa, it fits his character to just go around and help people and participate in the dozens of new activities instead so don't get me wrong. The meta game would be a great endgame mechanic, literally endgame. Expand the brotherhood outside of Egypt and send your fellow assassins across the known world. Thanks! And haha. That bastard in the Green Mountains was pretty tough, it took me a few tries to beat him. Weirdly, I had the least trouble with the two-elephant fight, but maybe that's because I tackled them last so I had gotten wiser to typical elephant tactics. (As a sidenote, I'm pretty sure this is the first time anyone's ever said "Typical elephant tactics" haha.) And agreed, I missed that too. We didn't even really get that in Syndicate, which was a prime opportunity for some crime gang management (yeah, you could upgrade your Rooks, but that was about it IIRC) and customizing your train base of operations. Here's hoping we get it again in the near future. As for settings I'd love to see in the future, I'd be fine with anything on that list. I'd say Feudal Japan, but we're getting Ghosts of Tsushima, so we'll see how that goes. Either way, I don't think we'll be getting Japan anytime soon, between that and the fact that I'm pretty sure the rumors about Origins setting up a trilogy of sorts are true. So with that said, I'll pick the invasion of the Americas. We kind of already got similar settings to this in Black Flag, but they weren't explored that much, so having a full-blown game in South/Central America would be so damn cool. Think Apocalypto: The Video Game. And maybe it's just because I'm a boring white American, but I'd personally love to see an American Civil War game, even if I doubt we'll ever get one, and it's not something I'd want to see before any of the other older and more "exotic" settings, anyway. As for settings I DON'T want... the only one that really comes to mind is World War II. Don't get me wrong, I'm one of millions fascinated to no end by the theaters, battles and figures of the war, all the weird sh*t Hitler and the Nazis were into, etc... but an AC game in the setting? No. We've got more than enough WWII games, movies, etc.; I actually liked Call of Duty: WWII, but I have to admit, it felt a little stale at times. And of that list, the Spanish Inquisition is the one I'd be least excited about, mainly because we already kind of got it in that movie. But the movie wasn't really a must-see work of art (and I say that as someone who kind of enjoyed it) and it didn't really explore the Inquisition that much, so I'm sure a Spanish Inquisition game could be great. But I'd still rather see the other settings first. Oh, one last thing... that AC Rogue remaster? GIMME. I'm a huge fan of that game (even if the story was way too short and it didn't take full advantage of the Templar perspective, mainly by taking the easy way out and depicting the Assassins at their worst), but during my recent playthrough earlier this year, maybe it was because I'd just come off of the XB1 version of Black Flag but it kinda looked like crap to my eyes. I eventually adjusted to it, but it still looked a little blurry and the shadows are crap. (Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but I actually think III's graphics aged better than Rogue's graphics.) So an HD remaster of that game? Yes please. Especially if they get the guys behind the Ezio Collection involved, I know it got some flack, but I couldn't have been more pleased with those remasters. And while we're at it, can we get remastered I, III and Liberation? Especially Liberation. I really liked that little game, but it's the only one not made BC and I basically retired my 360 (hell, my XB1 is sitting on it in my current setup, lol) and would love to play it again without having to drag out the ol' 360 and put up with my wonky malfunctioning controller. BrownBear
This game is so damn good, gotta one of the best of played. The setting and map are just incredible. For a history fan like me, travelling around Ancient Egypt was one of the best experiences I've had in a game. There's a few issues, no doubt. The story is a bit ropey to be honest, what it really needs it more missions to bulk it out and flesh out the characters. It felt like they rushed from slowly building the story to suddenly being near the end. Caesar comes in and suddenly he's a major character with basically no introduction. The fighting is pretty weak, they could have added a lot more and while I'm not against the direction they took, they didn't need to completely erase the cool takedowns and assassinations the series is known for. Also, the fact there's no codex is a massive and stupid oversight, especially when they've created such a rich world. It is an absolutely great game though and it's rekindled my love for the series. As for the next setting, I feel like going to Rome or Greece would be too similar in architecture etc. Especially seeing as we've seen a lot of their influence. Providing it takes the same direction, I feel like the new setting has to have a new and different culture and tone, large and vibrant cities, a varied and fresh natural landscape and of course the historical basis, plus a degree of recognition. I think India would be a perfect location. A huge, varied land with rich and diverse cultures. There's jungles, grasslands, swamps, mountains, deserts. The history is wild, exciting and unknown, whilst being vaguely familiar. As for the time period, I feel like the best would be around the early 1700s, with the old Mughal empire being overthrown by the upcoming Maratha Empire and the expansion and influence from the British, Dutch and Portuguese. This would be a fresh, exciting and rich setting, I think. I do kind of like the idea of William the Conquerer, too. If they condensed Egypt, why not the UK. That'd be incredible. Bleak, windswept moors; deep, ancient woods; dark, eerie bogs; rocky hills amd mountains; ancient stone circles and barrows; Crumbling Roman ruins. Mix all this with the ward between the Saxon kingdoms, the Vikings and the Norman; the last remnants of paganism. Assassinating petty kings in dark, eerie castles; raiding ancient stone cairns on windswept islands; battling with Viking beserkers and Norman knights; helping mushroom eating tribes in the Scottish forests; saving peasants from witch hunts. I'd abaolutely love to see this in a game. MrBellicLC and BenMitchell90

Same reason Bayek doesn't find a 1911 hidden in the Egyptian desert and shoots up all his targets - AC prides on itself on giving the player a historical setting to play around with and making Assassins ninja just because ''ninjaz r cool'' takes away from that appeal. chronic lumbago
I'm one trophy away from getting the platinum. First time I ever tried getting all trophies for a PS4 game, excluding easy platinums such as telltale games which you unlock automatically. Getting 100 trinkets will be a grind because it excludes all animal resources. Only trinkets you pick up from human enemies and chests, boxes ect count for this. Oh well, guess I will just turn off that HUD and randomly travel the world to look for treasure inside camps and so on.

El Dildo
the "India" we saw in Far Cry 4 was extremely generic and shallow (and unrealistic). it wasn't even based on any real location. I doubt anyone would get 'dejavu' from an Assassin's Creed set in historical India... BenMitchell90
Leftist Bastard
AC "prides itself" on a lot of things. historical accuracy is not one of them... there's literally no good reason why Assassins Creed couldn't do samurai or ninja clans. It could do samurai but the assassin order being a ninja clan goes against the game's own fiction and history [and yes I would argue the series does pride itself on proving a healthy dose of actual history] since ninja were paid mercenaries. The number one key to good world building is internal consistency no matter how ridiculous your world is [Dragon Age for instance is fantasy but it's a believable world because it's consistent] and if they're going to trump that for the sake of ''rule of cool'' that's just going to be very disappointing. Especially when ninjas are overdone anyways.
LittleBlueTroll
Honestly enjoying this game so, so much. I cannot remember the last time I put this many hours into a game that wasn't multiplayer based. There are so many elements I am enjoying that I doubt I will even be able to remember them all in this post. I am currently level 29 with 42 hours played, and I am nowhere near finishing the main story, most of that time was spent on side quests, exploring, and completing tombs. One that sticks out the most is how gorgeous the world is, so many times I have just stopped and thought "wow" Like I said in a post above, I have taken so many photos of the scenery, the impact doesn't seem to wear off, also photography mode is an excellent idea, I don't know if Origins was the first game to implement this feature or not, but I think it should be a standard feature in all games now. I love how the world is completely open, but many parts are completely out of your league until you are leveled up, so while you are free to explore, you better make sure you have your wits about you, as the enemies and predators in some of this areas really do not mess about haha. What I like about this is, It really makes you think about your surroundings before you go storming in, I found myself scouting areas and bases with Senu a tonne of times, wondering if it was worth even continuing forward or finding an alternate path. Now that I am leveled up more, I find myself deliberately going back to some of these places and kicking some ass, just because I can. That makes the feeling of leveling up completely worth it, because in older games you could essentially go anywhere, counter attack and kill and move on. Here however, it makes you think about what you are doing, and if you are capable of doing it. I really like the idea of the Phylakes. I have currently killed 5/10 (all the lower level ones) again, these bad boys really make you think about what you are doing, twice now I have almost sh*t my pants when I hear that gong sound that indicates they are near. I was playing with the "uncompleted locations" filter on so I didn't see him on my map, I run away like a little girl. So refreshing to have enemies that are actually a match for you. Also, I try to kill these in many different ways as they are more durable than most enemies, I try using different weapons and tools to see how effective they are. Once they are all dead, I really hope Ubisoft add more in here and there. I had a good idea for them, there could be Phylakes called "The Twins" who ride together, so when you enter into combat with them its two against one then you'd really have to bring your A Game. This has really refreshed the AC series for me, and I cannot wait for future installments if they continue with this RPG style. Honestly so much better, and I would put this as my favorite AC of all time, high praise considering I LOVED the original and the Ezio Trilogy. While we are on the topic of adding things, as they like to add in the Altair and Ezio outfits to the UPlay store, I think they should add in the special armor sets you unlock in other games. For example the armor of Brutus from Brotherhood, or the Turkish armor set from Revelations. They were both so bad ass, and like the Isu armor, they took some degree of grinding to get (totally worth it) Here is a couple photos in case people cant remember these bad boys: Armor Of Brutus: Turkish Assassin Armor: (My favorite) darthYENIK, rtie and BenMitchell90
chronic lumbago
Does this game move the modern story forward in any way?Well, yeah.. in "some" way. It's nothing too exciting but it sets up a potential sequel. My bet is that modern day will be much, much better in the next game. @troll: add Revelations standard armor too and we're set. Hell, I'd even pay for that. Revelations armor is so underrated. People and Ubisoft alike don't give it enough credit. ----- Anyways, Trials of the Gods are life and you can obtain the badass Anubis outfit. There's also a new quest. Before the quest makes you go full what the f*ck, it's a Final Fantasy crossover thing and is not canon. If you have any trouble with the quest puzzle, feel free to ask me. There's some new gear but the new mount is an abnomination and shoud have never seen the light of day. Pic dump I'm not replaying the game before I can carry my outfits over. Leftist Bastard
I always found the Armor of Brutus to be terribly ugly - the second best armor set in the game or the DLC one are MUCH cooler IMO. Turkish Assassin is badass but they had to ruin it with the mask. Discounting Unity here since it has so many customizable armor sets, I thought AC Rogue, III, and 2 had the best sets.
