chronic lumbago

yeah, your historical argument hit the target :colgate: . may buy it finally

Just keep in mind that there's quite a lot of Egyptian mythology in this game. For example, after killing certain targets

A cutscene plays where you're stuck in a void between life and death and are sending your targets to the Gods after their final speech

It's really well done though. I mean, it's not 100% realism but is based on Egyptian beliefs so.. you'll see what I mean when you play it. I personally love this approach.

The first AC I bought (without a bundle) and the first one I played for more than a few hours. I really like the setting and how they incorporated/stole everything from their other big IPs.

Unfortunately it does come with the same bugs as those IPs (please limit your ragdolls to outside of cutscenes) and the game doesn't look that great in detail, but the setting makes up for that and the combat so far feels quite cool. I wish they did make it a bit more like For Honor in terms of blocking and parrying but it's a good start.

No definite judgement yet :p Only been playing for less than a day so.

Besides the gorgeous looks, all the little details are what do it for me. Like how Bayek's voice is muffled, if his mouth is covered when you put the hood of your outfit up, and how you can pass guided predator arrows through torches or braziers on their way to their target, for some extra fire damage on the go. It's awesome how creative the game lets us be.

the attention to details are surprising me all the time.

did you know that those red clay jars contain oil? and if you pick them up and move them around you can create an oilslick pathway. break them open by shooting with a flaming arrow and BOOM; you've got a flaming trail of fire for setting traps or putting a 'wall' between you and your enemies. oil slicks also burn on top of water. so if you're assaulting a large trireme and some smaller boats with soldiers pull up alongside to assist, you can set their sh/t on fire and watch it sink while they dive off the sides crying in flames. it's awesome every time :^:

Yeah, they're neat. I don't utilize them very often, but fire damage is quite effective against most foes in this game. I used a pile to ding one of the Phylakes a bit, while hammering him with arrows from afar. Fire works really well on them.

I'm now the proud owner of a chariot! They're a bit wonky to maneuver, and don't do well in tight spaces - they can't reverse, so I often get stuck. But then it's just a matter of getting off and whistling for it. Yesterday, when summoning my brand new chariot, this hag rolled up in it, looking like she owned the sh*t:

I encountered a mirage last night...It appeared as fish flopping around in the sand, but disappeared as I got closer.

I'm loving this game so far, currently level 13.

I've seen it too recently. In fact, I had 3 mirages in a row in a short amount of time in the Giza region. Could've been even more that I missed because I had more than a few blurry screen effects and changes in sound.

First I saw a ghost lady picking up huge, almost cartoon-like flowers, followed by the fish and then I saw something in the sky, like white shooting stars, all shooting in the same direction. I thought something would happen if I follow the direction but soon after they appeared again, shooting in a different direction.

I don't know why so many at almost the same time. Maybe it's because I'm wielding a cursed weapon..

Lol the SUMAWESUMSOUP NPC starts getting on my nerves.

fawk yeah!

when I realized there was a Skill for unlocking chariots I went right for it pretty early on.

speaking of chariots, does anyone have any tips for winning the Hippodrome?

I can only get past the first couple rounds. I suck at racing these things and (with no tutorial mode) it's pretty frustrating to try and learn during the actual races so I'm not really improving.

I kick ass at the gladiator arena. cleaned up all the of the basic and Elite challenges. but I can't win in the Hippodrome to save my life.

I heard that performance issues have been dealt with. I should be done with other games in my backlog before Christmas so I'll probably get this.

stuttering due to 100% cpu usage most likelly, that is what most people complain.

the game calls Denuvo every time the player moves, so pretty mutch all the time

I think Phylakes on this game are a pisstake. Killed The Outsider fairly easily when i was level 22 (he's always level 20) but now i'm level 32, he's insanely hard and his shield parry still freezes me in a bullsh*t reaction animation. I killed another Phylake called the Iron Bull, i think? He was level 25 or 30 and was much easier to kill than The Outsider now is

Yeah, I dont get the Phylakes. Im ten levels above some, and they can wipe the floor with me. I finished the Crocodile missions and worked my way back up to the coast killing Phylakes, and some were pushovers while other were harder to kill.

I find that strategy comes into play a lot of the time. Use a certain weapon when they use a certain weapon/shield combo.

i find the game very well optimized. i'm on very high/ultra @ [email protected] except shadows (i always set them on lowest. just a ressources pork). i think i have something like a stable 40/60 fps. i have a medium GC, a R9 290 4096, but i have a very good proc, a 7700, alongside with 16 gig DDR4

In regards to the Phylakes, make sure you do a majority of the crafting upgrades. The boosts they offer are minimal at best, but I've found that even the slightest advantage can be the difference between winning and losing. This game is really more statistical based, less player skill based. It all comes down to numbers (hit damage, range, health, endurance, etc).

the fight wasn't quite as exciting as I was hoping, but Anubis was challenging enough.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I was level 28 when I tried, it took me almost an hour to beat his 1st wave of minions. When you have to shoot Anubis, it's easy enough and I think he scales to your level. However, his spawns are not. I gave up on the 2nd wave of those bastards, where you also need to avoid his attacks and got killed.

It's possible, if you don't die it should take you 3-4 hours :)

Well, i won't rush through the game just for Anubis this week. He and all the others will come back anyway.

I hate the "hold-the-button-to-perform-the-action" thing developers have implemented, YES I WANT TO SELL THE ITEM I DO NOT WANT TO HOLD DOWN THE BUTTON FOR 1,5 SECONDS.

Can you change this? Haven't seen it in options or anything.

I was heading towards a bandit camp in the middle of the desert. I picked up my fire sniper bow and shot a bandit in the chest just to spread some chaos and attack them from behind. When I got to my planned position, the flaming bandit's comrades actually tried to put out the fire by throwing sand on him.

The level of detail still amazes me.

@Fireman: I'm afraid you can't. It makes sense when selling or buying though, you won't sell anything by mistake this way.
