W10 Dual Monitors problem

Question

BunnyBoy21

So I reinstalled this game to play SAMP with old friends and now I am getting a problem where it asks me which monitor I want to use and gives me a box. The problem is the choices are whited out.

I don't know what this is. I had SA installed a few months back if I recall and never even had these boxes...so am I f*cked? Windows 10 latest updates. NVIDIA GTX 980 TI.

Just select one of them and see which one is the good one; the top or the bottom. Then just remember for next time.

I probably should have mentioned that none of them do anything. SA will not start no matter what I pick and if i try this with SAMP it crashes.

I've always had these boxes for SA since I've always ran multiple monitors, so that's normal. I'd imagine there's an issue with the game communicating with your graphics driver.

I'm running a 980 Ti on Windows 7 x64 with 376.19 drivers and it works fine for me.

Try running the game on integrated graphics (disable your GPU, uninstall the drivers, or physically remove it from the PC). Does the same thing still happen?

Worst case just disabling the secondary monitor in Windows should get rid of the box.

A thought.

Did you install the second monitor AFTER you installed the game, did you try deleting the gta_sa.set file, if you did.

Funny thing. The steam version works flawlessly...however if I try to downgrade to 1.0 it doesn't work. With the steam version it detects my 980TI but with 1.0 it doesn't.

1) GTA SA Worked on this PC before which was and still is Windows 10

2) It worked before with dual monitors.

3) I am not unplugging or going on Integrated graphics just for this game.

You are correct.

You need to find a "Downgrader" from a different source.

A downgrader does not make a game a Version one, all it does is remove or alter the Security of a v2 or v3 game to allow the use of version one mods.

you might want to post in the Modding Section.
