BioWare's new IP, announced at EA's 2017 live conference. Looks like Horizon Zero Dawn, in a way. Interested to see more but we really don't know much yet.

Looks a bit generic and I don't like the rumors that it will be Online focused..Bioware is (or used to be considering their last two games, especially ME:A) all about story and character focused games.

Really liking what I see. The world looks so beautiful to explore. I loved the underwater bit too. Also some jet-pack fun

The world looks amazing - the gameplay demo gave me a Division feel though. I'll have to wait for some real footage to make up my mind on this game.

Visually, it looks like Iron meets Avatar's Pandora.

Without a doubt a contender against Destiny 2 based on the footage we saw.

Certainly can't argue with how good it looks... but it's 2018; every game looks good.

Hopefully the gameplay lives up to the visual hype and we've got a robust singleplayer / COOP campaign to enjoy. The recent trend towards Battle Royale's and Survival / Base-Building MMO's is getting really tired, really fast.

Worries me that they think their approach to story is innovative, new or in any way shape or form interesting. It's the exact same stuff MMO's have done for decades now and it's been an oft-criticised part of those - having a solo story where you are "the one" in a world where there's a bajillion other players just as powerful as you are and doing the same story.

 

I do like the verticality of the gameplay though, as well as the sheer scale of the areas they were playing in. They also confirmed no PvP which is f*cking amazing tbh, no more doing the impossible and trying to balance gearing and loot grinding for PvP and PvE. That alone has me interested even with the way they're handling story being stupid.

You might be righter than you think.

 

New info from Kotaku and RockPaperShotgun really point this game to being nothing more than a Destiny 2 clone, and not in a good way.

 

NPCs will be static, they will have an "opinion" of you, but it won't affect the storyline nor their willingness to send you missions. Literally the biggest selling point of previous BioWare games has been thrown in the trash.

 

This will be it, the game that truly ends them.

Way back someone said something along the lines like "is this the next real Mass Effect"?  And that is why I know this game...

 

So far what I've seen hasn't gotten me Mass Effect excited.  Damn...

 

Anyway, I'm just bumping this thread to say they released a demo on all platforms today.

Nah the demo isn't today, it's the 25th for VIP/pre-order players, then another demo next weekend for everyone.

 

I'm pretty interested in it though my self, from what they've been saying it sounds like a mix of Diablo and Warframe which is a pretty cool mix.

loved older Bioware games but approaching this with a healthy skepticism.  Also my internet is so damn slow I might not get the whole thing before the demo ends

Just tried it on PC.. yikes

 

The controls on mouse and keyboard are genuinely disgraceful for a AAA PC game, and the game runs like hell too. Was running it at 40fps which aint great but it felt like I was running the game at 15fps, tons of stuttering.

I'll just stick with Destiny for this type of shared world shooter.

 

I want my Mass Effect back.  Damnit!
