Algonquin Assassin

GTA V. Partial health regeneration, checkpoints for every mission, lets you skip parts of missions if you fail three times, lets you carry every single weapon at once thus removing any strategy and management.

Most hand holding GTA yet. I mean GTA IV's pretty easy too, but atleast it doesn't take the player's hand and guides them like they're clueless idiots.

GTA V without a doubt as the game basically plays itself with its hand holding features. What's even worse even 100% is rigged in a way to be achieved much more easily than before.

Payne Killer

GTA V. Checkpoints and health regeneration, guns have little to no recoil, enemies may have god tier accuracy but they wound easy, and you have 2 special abilities to help you take them down. Easiest game of the series so far.

Yeah. I always thought it was strange that you don't have to do everything for 100%. What's next?

In GTA VI you can pay money to have the game automatically get 100% without having to do anything?

"100% Megalodon Card: Only $100!"

Anyway it's GTA V with IV being a close second. Only thing about V that's harder than IV is the overpowered AI.

The Ballad of Gay Tony, which had the lowest death count for me.

- IV and V + their post games were easy due to the cover system. All you have to do is cover, wait for reloads, and react to emerging threats: instant algorithmic win. The most challenging scenario is trying to get into a car while being shot at.

-- V made driving and evading wanted levels way too easy.

Regenerative health was not that big a deal because the health bar was less bulky and 1/2 pretty much means you're in the red in GTA V terms. It was good to prevent annoying moments where the player felt cheated because they died from a single bullet they just avoided missing, or an NPC ran up and got a single lucky shove in. (And getting hit by cars outside of combat.)

- Chinatown Wars was easy because playing the system against itself such as by going off screen to avoid getting shot at, hijacking and quick burning the tires to avoid cops, or driving through a thicket to destroy cop cars was easy to figure out and abuse.

- Combat in San Andreas was sort of easy because crouching and gunning from a distance was a sure way to kill quickly without threat to your person. I don't recall if that was possible in VC or III, but do recall it was likelier to be swarmed from behind in those games.

id say that a majority of gta games are pretty easy, apart from like a few missions in certain games that are actually challenging

but the thing with gta missions is that most of the time, when they're hard to beat, they're not hard. they're just frustrating, especially when you don't have mission checkpoints. iv is a huge example of these kind of f*ck ups, with tailing missions being the worst examples yet. when you fail, you start from the beginning, if you either lose the guy you're chasing or 'get too close'. the margin for error is huge and instead of feeling like it's hard to beat, you just want to put the game down instead.

i don't feel like any gta has gotten that balance completely right, ever. from gta 1 to gta v there have been irritating missions, and some of them stand out so much they're sort of inside jokes (follow the train, cj). i am going to vote for gta v, but in some cases i feel like that's an advantage towards it, because at least you don't want to throw the controller at the tv because you scared the f*cking reporter again

The GTA games aren't known for their difficulty. Excluding the one frustrating mission here and there they're all pretty easy to beat. Mission checkpoints and regenerating health to half didn't make GTA5 easier, it just took away a lot of frustration that was present in GTA4. I remember in 4's last mission being at the end of it with very little health and getting shot by an enemy who I didn't see thus making me do the entire mission again from the start. That doesn't make the game difficult, it just makes it frustrating. Nobody enjoys frustrating games. I applaud GTA5 for taking those headaches away, and adding extra challenges to every mission for unlocking the medals to ramp up the difficulty just a bit and forcing the player to play in a way they might not have done by themselves.

But in spirit of the topic, I'd say GTA1 was the hardest. You die very fast, you can't lose your wanted level and the only way you can ''save'' your game is by beating all the mission on one of the islands and moving on to the next.

Poll is broken - but my vote would be for GTAV, just because it's the first GTA I've completed without resorting to cheats. Missions have generally gotten easier since RDR and the 'checkpoint' element of missions. I lost count how many times I failed last mission of GTA IV when chasing on the motorbike. Missed that essential jump soooooo many times.

I'd say GTA IV since I haven't played GTA V yet. GTA III, if you only count the story missions comes second.

Without a doubt, V due to the checkpoints, health regeneration, and the ability to carry every weapon.

Also to the user who voted for GTA 1, I salute you.
