Mister Pink
Fossils in Morroco indicate that Homo Sapiens are around 100,000+ years older than what we once thought (200,000+ years). And the fact that they were discovered in north Africa and not east Africa or below the Sahara may indicate that the first humans evolved all across Africa and not just east Africa, like most experts believe. We know our brains have gotten bigger as we've evolved. This tells us there's at least a 100,000+ years more of evolution in how we've become what we are today. I'm sure arouses more questions than answers and Anthropologists will be having a field day. This changes our history completely as a species. What do you think? http://www.bbc.com/news/av/science-environment-40194283/oldest-fossils-of-homo-sapiens https://www.sciencenews.org/article/oldest-known-homo-sapiens-fossils-come-northern-africa-studies-claim Edited June 7, 2017 by Mister Pink Alexander, Payne Killer, Femme Fatale and 10 others 13 🆆🅰🅽🅽🅰 🅶🅴🆃 🅱🅰🅲🅺 🆈🅾🆄🆁 🅻🅾🆅🅴

Travedge
Maybe we were just food for mushrooms. Like, picture a chimp. He is hungry. Wanders into this caves. Sees some beautiful psilocybe cubenisis. Sits down, starts eating a psychedelic buffet. The mushrooms want the monkey to get stuck there, so they can grow from his corpse, but no, he evolves into ; human. EmSixTeen
As long as 100,000 years is, it's not a complete game changer. As far as I'm aware, the consensus is that homo sapiens developed in more than one place simultaneously in Africa. As far as I'm aware, the consensus is that homo sapiens developed in more than one place simultaneously in Africa. We've found evidence in China and in New Jersey. New Jersey's evidence is still alive and well, just visit Atlantic City. EDIT: Jokes aside, there is evidence for a New Jersey caveman. Also China. Ah.. maybe not to lay men and casual folk like me but someone who's life's work in the field of anthropology has another extra 100,000+ years added on to the timeline, which is what, about a 3rd of the timeline extra of our existence previously thought. I think it's a big deal and my feeble brain has to even comprehend what other information can be extracted from that info. Kirsty
One of the sad things to take away from these amazing discoveries about our history is that 300,000 years sounds an enormous amount, yet the earth itself is a few billion years old alone. The planet can exist without us, yet a species only a fraction of its age can ruin it AlienTwo and Mister Pink
AlienTwo
But Kristy, cheer up! Good news is once a long time ago in those billions of years, oxygen was very rare and even toxic to life on the planet. As O2 levels rose, new life that thrived on O2 developed and rose to dominance over the course of millions of years. So no matter what we do, we can't really hurt the planet, simply make it unlivable for all current forms of complex life for a short few million years or so!
