Freemode were everyone is invincible....

Just realised a spelt where wrong in the title but feck it

Just came to me while reading this post on gta forums and seeing this picture and realising this actually could happen if invincibility was possible (I don't know how to add a picture so the link will have to do) https://img.memecdn.com/seems-about-right-creds-to-the-artist_o_1832905.jpg

What if there was a separate freemode where no one could die and you got access to ALOTof the crazy special vehicles and jets tanks etc there was no point to the mode just that you could all cause and wreak havock with no fear of dying just jets and helicopters getting blown out the air with massive open space shootouts down on the ground while the ai traffic tries to avoid and drive through the madness. You could have genuine car chases that didn't end right away, chasing people round the map jumping from destroyed cars into a new fresh one, just endless madness, obviously this isn't up everyone's street but it sounds exactly as I pictured gta online lol as I think the quick deaths then respawing makes the gameplay break up and feel like cod a bit too much. I can last a good while without dying but I think it would be hilarious if this idea came to light as we all could be the griefers but no one really is ahead of anyone else just all together as one mental group attacking each other.

Nah, I personally wouldn't be into this.

However, what the game does need are dedicated lobby types--PvP only, PvE only, and ones with the current mixed system. I think this would make the free roam experience far more enjoyable as opposed to not being able to die at all.

If it were added as an option, I wouldn't be opposed. More options are certainly better than what we have now--yes, we have Invite Only, but there's not much that you can do there these days.

There sort of is an option for invincible players.

Invite/friends/crew only session

Become a CEO/VIP

Invite all into organization with friendly fire off

Now you're all immune to damage caused by other members of the organization including fire, being run over, shot out of the sky and jumping into helicopter blades.

Awww sheeit forgot all about the friendly fire during CEO, but still. A mode where when you load it up you are taken into a mayhem of a city where you're invinvincible and you all get access to crazy weapons vehicles and limited cheats, just seems perfect to me lol but as I said it's not for everyone as this thread is proving 😂😂

Tonguegirl

You know what, I would be up for that. :colgate: It would have to be a separate lobby 'cause I likes me sum killin'

Some of my most memorable battles have been absolute carnage, no-one taking it too seriously, just there for the mayhem.

One that comes to mind was when me and three other players were battling each other, cops turned up and we momentarily stopped fighting each other and just wasted the cops and every other NPC in sight. Once we'd all died we got back to killing each other until the cops came back. Rinse and repeat. There were Tanks, and Savages galore, no jets, an absolute fu*kload of RPG's though

The place was a war zone, it was awesome just seeing how much mess we could create. One of the best 'battles' I've ever had.

I could totally imagine an 'invincible' lobby where everything on wheels or in the air just got pulverised.

Using the wrong word is a grammatical mistake, not a spelling mistake. Just a heads up.

OT: So, basically friendly lobbies, like the ones from IV? Hell yeah! I'll also love to be able to turn off traffic and maybe only leave parked cars on (in case you have no car available). Imagine the entire city only belonging to the players, and there's peace and quiet and no crack-taking NPCs and laggy ass cops. Great for cruising, too, and exploring with friends, but too bad it would exceed Rockstar's fun meter.

Aha sorry for the meme stealing I couldn't find the page again just knew it was in a forum I seen recently lol

And arrows to athens(sorry still don't get how to quote properly lol) yes that's it just give us the gta 4 online modes as an optional freemode that would be immense! Exactly like you said with control over police and street density etc that is what is needed!

Heh, in his defense, that DLC thread moves at about a page a minute, I bet we're gonna hit 3000 by the time gunrunning shows up ;)

I just tried Director mode for the first time(don't laugh) and it was kind of fun being invincible and being able to jump buildings and blow cars up with thunder kicks. A mode where everyone was like that would be cool.

How about the Los Santos Marathon where 16 people race throughout the city jumping from building to building all while having 5 stars?

Lobby options should have been in the game from launch. Let us control settings in invite-only, and also have a few different lobby types for public; at minimum there should have been a co-op lobby (no friendly fire vs. other players) and the regular one. Unfortunately all signs have shown that Rockstar was highly invested in this single conception of how free roam would work, and I think any possibility of them adding different lobby types or settings disappeared long ago.

Something I think is slightly more plausible, though again not likely, is the idea of them finally adding some real cooperative play to lobbies as they are now. There are small elements of it; obviously CEO orgs and MC clubs give you at-will cooperation (you can even turn off friendly fire within your org), and the VIP job Headhunter makes players who aren't in the org unable to kill each other if they're near one of the targets. This kind of thing, to me, would promote a different and friendlier GTA experience if taken to a higher level. How about free roam events that are full-lobby cooperative? For example a riot mode where friendly fire gets turned off, all NPCs go crazy, and the only goal is to cause destruction. It could last 5-10 minutes and at the end, like Criminal Damage, you get paid based on how many NPCs you killed, with bonuses for helping other players. Even better, an event of Players vs. Police, where the entire lobby has a certain amount of time to steal stuff from the police stations and/or targeted police vehicles and deliver it somewhere. The more cops you kill and the more of the objectives you deliver (stolen drugs or "evidence" or whatever), the more the entire lobby gets paid when the event ends.

Stuff like that would make for a nice break from non-stop PvP, and for once you might actually make friends in a session instead of enemies.

Don't think I've quoted that right, but this sounds perfect right up my street I so wish they'd add this!

As I said in another thread a while ago:

Hoo boy I read this entire thread...

Anyway, I completely agree with the people who are for a non-PVP mode being added.

It's simple! In the PVP lobbies, people who want to play Grand Theft Deathmatch can go at it with hydras and tanks and wiggle until they break their A and D keys. They can spawnkill and blow up cars (Maybe bad sport is disabled in PVP lobbies, or made so that it takes a whole lot of PV blowing-ups to go there) and do whatever else. They can go at it with miniguns and rockets and every gun in the game. Rack your K/D up as high as possible, and instead of killing a CEO who doesn't even bother trying to fight back you can fight someone who's also eager to fight! No more easy targets, you can have a real challenge!

And in PVE lobbies, all we need to do is turn friendly fire off. Yes, we can shoot NPCs, cops, enemies, that one futo who ran you over, and more. Just not other players. We can do our work in peace and help each other, CEOs and MCs and whatever gets added in gunrunning. When you see a blip, instead of giving them a wide berth because you can almost bet you'll have a sticky bomb attached to your nose if you get anywhere close, you can go say hi and check out their car. Go to war with the lost MC! Invade Zancudo! See what cooperation can really do! Car shows can actually happen, you can hear the sound of a hydra without a chill going down your spine, and just Work Together. It sounds so nice....

Obviously I'll be in those PVE lobbies. I have a k/d of... I think it's .27, maybe lower, I don't care and I don't fight people. Sometimes if my friends are around I'll fight back, and usually if someone's coming after me I make an attempt to kill them for just enough time to get away, but fighting in GTA is almost never a challenge anyway.

Usually I see...

-A hydra flying around spraying explosive bullets everywhere at your export car, there's no way it won't be blown up
-Someone in an insurgent throwing sticky bombs at your slow-ass MC resupply van
-Those people who kill themselves as soon as a single bullet gets close to them
-And of course the people in karumas who zip around and spray bullets until they finally mow your health down as you take a Journey to your crate warehouse

And all this? I want away from it. I shouldn't have to suspend GTAV's main process every so often to get a solo session just so I can try making money, and yeah just try telling me that the game is fair when a hydra piloted by a preteen can destroy a 4 car export with no skill or real effort.

It's just... why even debate it? We already have lobbies split up by aiming preference, and friendly PVE lobbies would cut down on all the solo lobbies hogging up servers. (Yes I know it's P2P but there are still servers)

And my friend won't be able to snipe me as a joke anymore lol
