I have no bloody idea how to use the ThirteenAG widescreen fix. I've watched videos, read instructions, everything. Please help! I desperately want to play the game with the fix! Thanks.

Download it. Extract the scripts folder and vorbisfile.dll into your sa folder. From the arrow next to download button download recompiled wshps.asi and paste it into scripts folder u extracted.

If you want subtitles without outline open GTASA.WidescreenFix.ini in scripts folder and set ReplaceTextShadowWithOutline = 2 to 0

(for editing use wordpad instead of notepad)

1. Download wshps (widescreen front end files). Copy content of rel folder to game directory. Replace all. If asked to merge models folder click yes.

2. Then copy over widescreen fix with scripts folder to game directory. If you have asi loader. replace vorbisfile with the widescreen fix one (it is based on silent's vorbisfile so there's nothing to worry about, everything will work just fine.) If you don't have asi loader, then you'll need to get one. I recommend silent's asi loader Google it and download if you don't have it.

3. Don't f*ck with widesreenfix ini unless you know what you are doing, leave everything as is and you're done.

4. Turn widescreen off in display settings, you don't need to have it on anymore.

Edit the .ini for your resolution though if it doesn't display correctly when not messing with the .ini.

I tried everything you said. Still, it did not work.

You are obviously doing something wrong...

Do you have cleo installed?

Cleo? No I don't. Is that needed?

You should install it as it comes with an ASI loader. install the newest one.

That's probably why it's not working.

Just got Cleo. Has not changed the game in the slightest.

Okay, did you install the ASI loader that comes with it?

Also, in your SA directory, in the folder "scripts" does it have the 3 widescreen files?

I just put the 3 files into my directory and it works perfectly.

Instead of putting it in the "scripts" folder put it in the root directory. make sure it has all three files.

Lol widescreen fix has nothing to do with cleo scripts. Yeah, the exe version must be problem if it doesn't work.

Your OS could be a problem too. Are you playing on OSX or Linux or something? I play on Windows 7 so I don't know if it works well on Windows 8 and 10.

Works fine on W10. Cleo comes bundled with a .asi loader so in a way it's connected. Always use v1.0 hoodlum .exe's unless noted otherwise (some mods work with compact .exe/steam version .exe).

CLEO comes with an ASI loader, so he can install the asi scripts.

before you correct, please know what you are talking about.

OK to clear things up I play on Windows 10 with GTA SA.Exe version 1.0. Geez, I knew I was dumb, but I didn't know I was this dumb...

WTF am I doing wrong?

Ok, so do this:

- Silents ASI loader in root

- wshps ASI in root

- Widescreen Fix ASI and INI in scripts

- Launch game via Compact or HOODLUM 1.0 EXE

If that still doesn't work, then there's no hope, os isn't an issue, I'm on Windows 10 and things are fine here.

I actually don't understand why it isn't working with you, i downloaded the file and got the widescreen and put the 3 files in my "scripts" folder.

Maybe you download wrong one?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey I got it to work! It was not Cleo, it was my game version. I was running 1.1, so I downgraded to 1.0 and what do ya know, it worked!

Thank you all for your suggestions & advice, much appreciated.

well I did install widescreen fix... but for some reason wshps.asi won't let my game open unless I remove it...

and when I do the fix stops working so.... anyone has a solution to that?

Did you ever find a solution for this? All .asi files of all kinds prevent my game from opening.
