deiviejr
After upgrading my computer (new mobo and transferred OS to an SSD) I seem to have lost activation. Upon launching the software I get the following error: "This software must be activated prior to use. For activation, a valid SERIAL is essential." This was one of the first games I bought and paid for when I got my first gaming PC several years ago but I don't remember where I got it or have any clue how to recover the serial number! Any suggestions? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/888167-activation/ Share on other sites
HalfOfAKebab
Where did you get your game from? The only digital copy is the Steam version, which automatically manages digital rights, meaning you shouldn't have to deal with this. The only physical copy are the disc versions, which also automatically manage your digital rights - all you need to do is have your disc in your optical drive. lil weasel
1. Did you "Install" the game (Copying it does not count.) 2. Did you copy the gta_sa.set file too? If you did delete it. Did you even read OP's question? This is not a technical issue, he wants to know if there's a way to recover the key he lost. OP, if your game is retail then the key should be in the box, maybe in the game's booklet. There is No "Key Code" for the GTA San Andreas games, Either the Physical Disc or Registration with STEAM is the permission to play it.
