Import / Export, The Cargobob Way

Is the 10/10/12 method for only getting top end cars considered cheating/glitching or is this legit?

Lol. No Its completly legit. Its just a normal game mechanism.

IMO that and things like curb boosting and wheelie/lean boosting are legit because they are part of the mechanics of an unmodified game. If C* put it there how can it be cheating?

^ According to this logic, car duplication glitches are part of the unmodified game. And money glitches related to the Orbital Cannon are also part of the game. But people still get banned / punished for using them.

Its just a normal game mechanism.

I doubt it. I mean, they certainly didn't expect people exploiting it. Seems it's just impossible to nerf / fix this trick at this moment.

Anyway, no one was ever banned for using this method.

Wow. That's a stretch. To put it nicely.

So to be clear, you're saying that actions such as steering (over kerbs) and leaning forwards on a motorcycle (which makes you go faster IRL), which are both very basic and direct-input mechanics of the game, are the same as the 10 to 20 step processes of tricking the game mechanics into duping money and cars by doing things like switching sessions for different target modes and switching into and out of heists and friends in and out of their avengers and timing registering as CEO and and and blah blah blah... ?

Really?

That's what you're saying?

I'm just replying to the statement

If C* put it there how can it be cheating?"

Not everything they put into the game is being put there for a reason.

leaning forwards on a motorcycle

According to Broughy, this only works with a single motorcycle in the game. Hakuchou Drag.

All other motorcycles are going faster by leaning backwards. Which doesn't work in real life and considered as an flaw in a game physics. Same with kerb boosting. Kerb boosting may look "legit" to some players, but it's not respected or accepted in several racing communities. People are designing custom tracks that reduce or don't include any kerbs.

Same as the superspeed flying in Deluxo, killing every helpless player in the session. It's very basic, it doesn't require 10 or 20 steps, but it's still an exploit. The fact that you don't get punished or banned for using this exploit doesn't make it "legit".

I have a batiRR and a hach7chu. They both go faster when I lean forward. I imagine those aren't the only two, too. And I don't wheelie boost, you can't steer.

Good point with the (now patched) speed glitch. But I still think your logic is completely misplaced r.e. the boosting being on par with duping. LMAO. :D

We don't know and the 10/10 method could be genuinely achieved by someone who wants to only sell high end cars.

Missed this....

Sad but true. I don't usually kerb boost unless someone else is.

But I always pick my lines and use as much of the track as I can so often people say I'm boosting. Even though I'm in a corner. LOL.

I use my Cargobob for all I/E. I couldn't imagine doing it any other way. Driving is a waste of money. It'd be nice if they created a turbo Cargobob with a little more horsepower though!! lol

^^ I would love to use the Skylift if it ever comes out, but it's one downside is sheer size... would be notably harder to grab cars that are in tight spots without first having to move them via Ramp Buggy.

That is, unless the Skylift's magnet could be redesigned to allow raising/lowering it enough to be useful? Doubt this would happen though.

The upside(?) might be faster traveling and keeping the car "locked" in place with the magnet.

Actually, could be pretty handy if the Cargobo-toting magnet featured in the Fleeca heist would be made available for purchase to players..! Will add this to the Game play wish list thread.

You can drive quite a ways before NPCs come after you.

I drive cars into position to bob about half the time. Several missions are next to or under buildings, trees etc., follow kuruma, nasty crime scene, find the key and the bomb car are a few that come to mind. I drive the car several hundred yards some times to get it to a spot I can bob it.

Cars that might be the "bomb" car are the only ones I'm extra wary of not driving to a better position for Cargobobbing (and in those cases, I call up my Ramp Buggy or try flexcreator's tip of ramming them with a "soft" car, which shouldn't incur any damage to the vehicle itself).

I misspoke. The bomb car is the one car I will drive back to the warehouse in a solo lobbie because no NPCs until the bomb deactivates. I usually time it so I'm a block or less away when it ends so 8 just drive in with no NPCs.

Works in full lobbies too cuz.

I use CB in almost all sourcing missions.  Can’t imagine playing this without it.

i use it in all sell missions.  I use the warehouse near airpirt LSC - has lots room land a bob.

1.  Line up car for pickup.  Take look while still in car route it would go if driving do u know what locn your going.

2.  Get out go to bob take off deploy hook pick it up and go.

3.  Once at drop off ease it in / some more difficult than others.

4. If griefer coming in just worry about deliver car then leave lobby.

in one instance just barely delivered car got shot down made it to safehouse and messed w him calling mugger / mercs.  He called me trash n stuff bc I would not come out.  Watched tv and he got bored and left - noticed mugger still outside / went outside killed mugger got $10,000 cash!

I've heard the white CB (I forget what it's called) has a hook that hangs down lower than the camo one. Is that the one you guys mostly use?

The one you get from NOOSE/Zancudo/Humane Labs for the Offshore heists job is best, it is stronger than any of the the random spawned helipad, Pegasus delivered or personal hangar (weakest) versions.

I think the Jetsam one used to have longer chains on the hook, not sure if that is still true.

If you don't own a 'Bob, parking a stolen one on your office roof helipad using the "press > to land and enter your office" will keep it spawned for the duration of your session. No map icon, but you just need to remember where you park it.

I've never much liked the Import/Export missions, but I always enjoyed the Cargobob. It's like a trusty childhood teddybear with rotorblades.

I'm informed I/E does make a lot of money though. And I like money. So that's basically two outta three.

I suppose I'll have to invest in a Cargobob of my own to love and cuddle.

Thanks for this, as it's been the information I was looking for. Skipping page 2 of this though, so this question may have been answered:

What's with the Jetsam Bob? Why is it more expensive? Does it do any special tricks, besides an alleged longer hook? Or should I just get Regular Bob if all I'm gonna use it for is I/E?

the Cargobob has beena hnuge disapointment for me.

I thought i could just pickup cars and tank all npc fire due to the having bullet proof windows and excellent armor.

However all it takes is a few seconds from small arms fire for the hel to start smoking. To make matters worse it only takes a few bumps from civilian cars for it to start smoking.

Seriously what is the thing make of?

You use Cargobob to transport vehicles. For harassing people from above and not getting instashot, there's the Avenger.

Also, keyboard users: if you want your Cargobob not to lose height with freight (I/E), with pressed W, you have to hold pitch button for 4 seconds then release, rinse and repeat. Could be useful.

Excellent guide! Just to add that during the barge mission, if the deadly buzzards catch up with you during the aerial chase, call Merryweather Backup Helicopter. They will get distracted enough and you will be able to lose them for a while.

This is probably the most stable helicopter in the game.  Once I took a break during a Cargobob flight, left it hovering in mid air.  When I came back it was still hovering, like a dog waiting outside a store for its master.

Don't be afraid of the enemy fire in the process of delivery. Enemies will shoot the heli not the car, and the Cargobob can handle a lot of damage.

This is no longer my experience. The only i/o I use the car for are the barge missions. I have a Jetsam. Used to use a strategy I got here on this forum; find the barge by getting in the Jetsam, fly over there with something else and kill all the barge guards, pick up the car and then hover straight up gaining altitude and wait until it spawns the buzzards. tilt towards warehouse and you're home free. Can't make it more than halfway anymore before the buzzards kill the Jetsam or do a bunch of dmg to the car. It's how I learned that dmg caps out at 33k and the next step is the car blows up. It's been this way for a couple of patches now. Now I just find the barges and kill the car and steal some diamonds or something while I wait the couple of minutes for the cooldown.

Did any of you helisex types notice any of this? Don't bother trying to tell me no changes have been made.

As far as using the Bob for other i/o missions, I will grant the possibility that a dedicated expert heli pilot could outgrind someone similarly experienced at delivering cars in the traditional fashion. That said and having read the first third of this guide, they will have to be pretty goddam expert and it just ain't my bag. It is Grand Theft Auto, after all.

Actually this could be a very good trick if anyone ever finds a way to bypass the guard killing. Expecially for the vinewood insigna stunt jump, since your car will get around 500-1000$ worth of damage each time, so it may be worth to test some variations of this method

You don't have to kill anybody on any of the stunt jumps and you can get away with no npc pursuers. You can totally stealth it out. Every time.  Approach crouched in creepmode. I always approach from the ramp side of the car. Watch the vision cones. Stay out of them. There is one guard that moves. He approaches the car, guards for a minute and then walks away. It's a cycle. When he walks away, creep up to car (think you can be holding a weapon but I always stay bare handed til' I get in car) making sure to not touch vision cones of other guards. You can get very close to where you'd think they'd spot you, but they don't. Get in, hit boost and that's it. Drive home. Works every time. It's really nice in a full lobby.

yeah, I know about that. I was asking if there was a way to not kill the guards, since his method was to park the cargobob in front of the car to avoid the jump altogether, but if you do that npcs get alerted. I know you can easily get the car and avoid every enemies in there but for the jump at Vinewood insigna that will cost you around 500-1000$ in damage every single time

I'm Cargobobbing everywhere I can now, I'm even getting it out for some Bunker-resupply missions; I mean, the Youga classic is cool, but after a couple of hundred rides clear across the map, the novelty wears off.

In fact, I now have a succesrate that warrants ditching a car when damages exceed a self-imposed limit of GTA$5000. Or 1000, if I'm in a really pissy mood.

Ofcourse, I play empty publics, that helps.

Oddly, I haven't had the barge-mission for ages, so I couldn't say how I would handle it these days. I do remember a long time ago landing the Cargobob at a decent enough vantagepoint and sniping anyone that would break cover. Only real problem I can remember was landing the Cargobob wonky on the barge to deal with a straggler and not being able to get back in it.
