CEO crates - Upgrades and special cargo (Question)

Good morning,

I have not been on GTA online for the previous year (Literally) and finally made a return. I have missed quite a bit but grinding everything and getting my character back up to date with all the cool new goodies.

Apparently crates are still the way to go when it comes to a decent income so I have been using this method and managing 1.5 million a day.

I have two questions I cannot seem to find proper answers on at this point.

I own 5 large warehouses for my crates. I recently discovered a table in the one that allows a player to upgrade their export vehicles. That plane, truck and boat updates. Now since I own 5 warehouses, if I purchase the upgrades in the one, do they carry across to all warehouses or does a player need to now upgrade their plane, truck and boat in each warehouse for the upgrades to be effective?

Rare special cargo: I managed to get an egg last year just before I stopped playing. Since I have returned I managed to get another two calls, minigun and fur. Accidentally I stored the fur in a separate warehouse to the egg I previously had so I sold the fur. Later I got the minigun which is sitting nicely alongside the egg. So at this point I have two rare special cargo in one warehouse. I would like to own all 6 though. Is there any limit as to how many rare special cargo a player can own at any given time? I've collected over 300 crates since the last call and no more rare special cargo calls have come my way and growing concerned that there may be a limit attached to this one.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

First question is yes. They're not separate. Second question is that it stops at 6.

Yes.

Only one of each kind. There are 6 kinds.

1.5 million a day? You filling up and selling two medium warehouses per day? Pfffttt impressive.

Most I can do is one medium warehouse per day and even that's slightly pushing it.

Thanks guys.

I have 5 large warehouses, I am filling up each day, managing 1.5 which is pretty neat. I do an I/E inbetween now and then to make up for lost cash on crates. I have been grinding the heck out of this daily so I can get all those new cars I missed out on!

You'd be better doing cars and collecting the odd few crates in-between to be honest.

I can fill two large warehouses in 10 hours. I once grinded for 7 hours to finish them off and sell before the last day of bonus 25% sales offer.

The calls to special items comes at random times, no way is known that you can trigger then to come, the only thing I know about them is that they are more likely to come when you're doing moving crates in a session for a long time.

You can own up to 6 special items:

-Ornament Egg;

-Golden Minigun;

-Large Diamond;

-Rare hide;

-Film reel;

-Rare pocket watch;

You can own all of these at once, in one warehouse only, or you can put each of them in different warehouses too, but the calls for buying them stop once you have reached the sixth owned item.

IMO its not worth it to keep those items, since you cannot sell them with other crates they occupy places in your warehouse that could be used for other crates, you need to do a separate sale for all of them at once.

Also, there is the risk of being raided if you let any crate or item sitting in the warehouse for long.

The upgrades on the vehicle are a waste of money, specially if you sell in a solo public session, if you're on PS4 it's easy to make a solo session.

If I remember correctly they carry over to other houses, but I could be wrong with this as I have never bothered with upgrading the vehicles(I only own one medium and one small warehouse, the sales for them are done in Cuban 800, Tugs and Brickades, and are mostly risk-free since I do them in a solo session).

You should sell special items as soon as you deliver them to your warehouse for the reasons Pedinhuh mentioned above.

Also, not all the upgrades are a waste even when selling in a public solo session. For example, the speed boost upgrade on the tug boat is a godsend, you can drive right past the seashark npcs without firing a shot if you get that as a sale mission.

The armor upgrades for the Cuban 800 and Titan are also quite useful if you happen to get one of those sale missions where attack helicopters spawn right underneath the drop off points. Solo session or not, they can rip right into the body of your plane before you know it. I know a few friends of mine who sell solo and unexpectedly had their cargo destroyed because they didn't think of getting the upgrades for these planes.

The only upgrade I can think of that may be slightly useless is the Brickade speed and armor upgrade, you don't often get npcs chasing you during these type of deliver missions so it's not much help.

I dunno why since I never do crates but I have a small warehouse, a medium one, and a large one...

Everything is answeard well, beside

The call from your secretary is bugged - it's quite possible that you already missed one.Once you order new crates in your office (I guess you take 2 or 3 at once for your 5 large warehouses), always have a quick look at the 1st, normaly "single crate" option where the "rare special crate" will appear once it's available. Happened to me a couple times.

Happy grinding!

5 large warehouses? Jeez I pretty much only run 2 large warehouses and a small one just for stashing special items. Curious though. How the hell you managing 1.5m per day? I'm lucky if I make $3.1m from filling 2 large warehouses. That's like 7-8 hours of solid grind with 3 crates at a time.

Actually i have different information than you. Most people report 1 rare crate every 100 special crates .

In the last 3 weeks i completed 250 + crate missions ( was already at 230 ) and i got 3 rare crates myself. I'm doing like OP and collecting em' all in one warehouse.

The threshold for your warehouse to get attacked is set at 77% as far as i know. If you keep your warehouse under that , you should never get attacked. ( for the record , i think the last time i was attacked was in 2016 )

Keeping the rare crates in their own warehouse only sacrifice 1 warehouse , you really only need 2 to run the missions , considering that some of them have optimal mission placement compared to others , the choice is easy to make. since it's under 77% , it will never be attacked.

1 rare item per 100 missions? In my experience I get aproximately 1 rare item per each large warehouse that I fil and sell, that is per each 37 missions at 3 crates per mission.

Sometimes you can luck out and get 2 but then again I'm filling 2 warehouses at once so that's like 74 trips at 3 crates per mission.

I get burned out after selling 7 CEO cars per day for 600,000 I salute him

Honestly just do import export instead sell top range cars and save all mid and standard so that all you get are top range this way you work 1/8 as hard and get equally the money

I also buy supplies for a coke / meth lab. So you can work actively on I/E and accumulate drug passively.

yeah, props man. i grinded crates during the bonus period recently and wanted to pull my hair out of boredom after filling a large and medium in 2-3 days. that is some tedious and monotonous work.

i'd rather do pac stan glitch, sell high end cars, pay for and then sell drugs (want this reloading and building while you're making money), and then maybe throw some crates at a time in there.

based on a off the top of the head algorithm, it seems the most value with respect to time = money is getting two crates at a time which is just very elongated.

Yeah crates make you hate the game also CEO cars are a lot more efficient money wise

Thank you for all the feedback here. That's very nice.

My strategy is to use the car sales for money for the crates I purchase. I alternate between two large warehouses at a time so when I do sell, that is basically just profit I am getting while I keep my cash up using car sales - I always have a million in my bank at any given time.

I've always been the player that has to have and own everything though, so I need to do 1000 runs for my gold statue on my desk anyway so crates will be done until then. I do have a bikers business and bought all 5 possible businesses and upgraded them but I have not even started on producing anything. I am not sure if money from there will be better or not. I do see there is an option to purchase supplies but I am yet to work out if it's worth it or not. I cannot do supply runs for the biker businesses and still do crates and I/E a car here and there. I mainly play solo at this point because of the new internet line I am on. I struggle to keep players in my lobby, so also the selling of produce seems a bit tedious for a solo player on the biker businesses.

So far crates have been going well, they have funded a lot of the missed content I needed to get, I am just about to purchase my 8th special vehicle (Ruiner) to get that collection completed. The only thing I need to really do now is start buying all the new cars that came out since last year July. I see there are some nice toys there and I would like to add them to my garage but estimating a price tag takes that figure to around 30million needed - hence why I am furiously grinding crates. Besides, my brother is here with me, he is an avid ps3 GTA online player and is more than willing to help with the grind on ps4 - it's all so new to him and he is loving all the new stuff ps3 players never had the opportunity to experience.

For the golden statue itself, best strategy is to only buy one crate at time. It's the cheapest and fastest way to archive it. But you also need money for getting all missed stuff, cars etc., so stay at 2-3 crates while it seems you don't get bored on the neverending back and forth delivery grind :).

Regarding the MC businesses: You already earn all 5 and they're fully upgraded? Best starting basis for passive income! Go to the businesses, buy the supplies, let em produce and keep on crates and I/E. In contrast to the warehouses, you don't get an extra bonus for selling a full stock. So find your routine and sell at ~2 bars of produced goods there. This guarantee, that you're able to sell all your goods yourself while a full MC-stock can give you a sale mission which is impossible to do alone (Post-OP vans, Trash Trucks, f.e.).

Sure, once you pay for supplies (max 75k), your benefit will be lowered, but still it's a good passive! income. Concentrate on meth, coke and, if you still have time for selling, counterfeit cash - these pay best.

Don't buy supplies for ALL business. Having to start sales for 5 business is just too much time consuming , it's not worth it. It also cost too much and the return on your investment will be bad for most business. It's only worth it for coke / meth lab.

By buying the supplies ( 75k each , 2x for a full warehouse ) you lose a bit of profit but don't have to actively run supplies missions. Considering you make roughly 250-300k in profit for selling a full business even when buying your supplies , it's worth it to use the business like passive money accumulator.

I'm currently doing my gold statue work since a month too , started at 230/1000 , i'm at 470/1000 now.

The sales can also be done alone ; one of the deliveries will be a single truck that you need to take from point A to point B simply.

Else to maximise profit , i would suggest running Headhunter in the city using a buzzard. You can complete those missions in 2-3 minutes with a buzzard when you get used to it and know all the npcs spawns by heart. start an headhunter while travelling back to office to start a mission to optimize your time too.
