Can't help but notice that people dont do missions anymore.

People don't race anymore.

People dont do death matches anymore.

People don't want to be in public lobbies anymore, as if it wasnt already bad as it was with jerks and trolls, Rockstar made it tens times worse with the CEO deal. It's not "fun" for anyone when they spend 2 days collecting stuff so that some rank 18 with homing rocket can take it all away... I dont constitute getting royally pist off as "fun"

I dont like being mad when I play games. I dont like to hate other players either but.. You really can't help it when you've spend your entire weekend building up your warehouse... and then...

Theres no trust anymore. People are rude and/or paranoid... As if they wasnt like that already. It's near impossible to make a friend anymore cause people are only doing cargo missions and if you get anywhere near them your automatically a threat.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the online community has gotten really really foul... and rockstar is to blame by making a mechanic that literally rewards trolling.

what next? Are they going to start getting paid to blow up our cars too?

I agree that some of the things Rockstar have done have had a bad effect on the game.

They've ruined PvP with the ability to instantly blow yourself up with sticky bombs (without even switching weapons), ability to buy ammo on the spot, wiggling with snipers, etc. And that makes people not even want to bother with PvP. Or if they do, they don't have any respect for it at all and just get a jet or something. And I half don't blame them, what with the joke Rockstar have turned it into.

Then there's passive in armed vehicles, the list goes on and on.

I also think the whole work in public sessions experiment just didn't work out, and they should accept that. Gunrunning might work if we're doing it in military vehicles that can fight back though.

Oh, and it goes without saying that I'm not a homing launcher fan. Terrible weapon. Ruined the game to be honest. Hopefully they do something about it.

Homing rocket should be a level 120 unlock with a max ammo of 3 rockets. Sticky bombs should also be limited to 3... They are the easy button for trolling.

I don't know about sticky bombs. I actually never did like that they could be thrown out of cars, even since GTA IV. Kind of killed off more traditional car chases.

But, it's so ingrained in the game now - I'm not sure they even could remove throwing them out of cars. Not without backlash.

That's what I would do rather than limiting the number of them. We could never throw the Satchels in San Andreas out of cars - why sticky bombs? I do like using them as traps, etc. though.

The homing launcher ... I could write a novel on that. Not a fan at all. Something could do with being done about it.. Whether that's a change to the weapon, or a change to the vehicles most affected by it. Oh, and of course it goes without saying that it should've been rank locked.

Well, if you hate homing launchers, just wait those lazer weapons coming out at next DLC.

They will cut cars, people and jets like hot knife sliding through butter.

Kind of excited to stop playing GTA and start playing RDR2.

The most we'd have "I'd hope" is an explosive shotgun, or possible dead eye.

I've been playing since 2013, on and off, and then seriously in March of 2014. I've seen every single inch of the map, and I'm just plain bored. I've done every single mission, race, advsry mode, deathmatch, stunt race, etc. I've seen, and have done it all. I'm tired of Los Santos. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful. Still is, but it's just bland. Frankly, I've been staying busy with Mass Effect these days.

Edit; yes, the player base as well is horrid. I still remember back in 2013, around the 4th or 5th day in October, everyone was friendly. Everyone. They'd stop their car to see yours. Invite you to their apartment to check it out, see the garage, do new missions with you, and simply help you out. Now we have try hard, first person, marksman spamming 15 year olds that are all about the KD ratio. It's just has been overrun.

Sellers that sell M rated games NEED to really focus on that M rated title, and figure out who's going to be playing it in the long run.

I also remember when people would play golf and mini games together.. Good luck now days. Start a tennis game you'll be in the waiting lobby for 2 hours.

I remember players pointing out my rims on my Zent noticing they are the most expensive rims and the most expensive tire smoke... People used to actually check out your cars. Now I'm shocked if anyone says nice car when I own a fully upgraded, highest end paint jobs and most expensive chrome rims on an X-80... Not one person has ever said one thing. lol

Pure Gold with Chrome secondary. The car is worth about 3.4M lol

Unthinkable back in 2015. But with CEO work on a given car run you can make 80k in 10 minutes. Until I was updated with the changes of the game I was wondering why seemingly everyone and their dog owns a tank and a Hydra Never thought I would buy a cargobob... lol

<<< Bought a cargobob

But man I miss those long nights with the crew doing mission after mission just rippin it up with some homies... Those were the days. If you had a solid dedicated crew you can make 500k in 1 sit down.

Pretty much. I've given up with people these days. I don't mess around in FR anymore. I'll kill you for getting too close. Which is a shame bc I much rather do my thing and let others do theirs.

It's extremely disappointing that they make some of the stuff only accessible through public lobbies. I don't play this game for free roam at all.

You gotta change who you're playing with and how you're playing.

I joined a crew that does freeroam jobs. People do their MC, CEO, and I/E, ask for help with getting supplies, selling products or crates, selling cars, etc. We kick randoms that join, and on the busy days we have over 13 people. No worries of people destroying your stuff, shooting you out of the sky, etc. Usually the lobbies eventually go to sh*t once too many randys join before the kick option comes back, but we just hop into another empy lobby. It's a complete 180 on how I've been playing GTA and it's revamped that urge to play.

To those who mentioned cars, go to car meets. From time to time I'll go to one, and they're not that bad if you turn off chat. The more popular ones are completely full lobbies, different themes, cruise to a couple spots, take pictures, grab different cars and then people race at the end if they choose to stick around.

I don't care that randys don't say anything about my cars in freeroam. If I want any kind of satisfaction beyond what I already get from enjoying my cars regardless, I can go to a meet and compare them to other peoples cars, as well as get ideas for new color combos and wheels I normally wouldn't use.

The only thing that makes GTA get stale for me is the lack off new cars. I don't care much about other DLC. They could drip feed a car every other week until this game dies and I'd be content.

Pure gold cars with chrome accents aren't a good look. Just sayin'.

Lol I didn't wanna say anything but it's pretty obvious why no one compliments his car. It looks like a 12 year olds wet dream.

And who gives a f*ck that it costs 3.4mil. The price of something doesn't mean it looks good or peaks someones interest.

Not to mention the amount of glitched money in GTA. Someone having an X80 back in 2013 would have be impressive.

Agreed with krooked's post. Join a dedicated crew and see how much more fun it is to play the game when you have a bunch of like minded individuals doing exactly what you like to do while all in the same lobby. Makes for one hell of an experience if even just for a bit.

The more you play with them, the more fruitful the relationship becomes with your crew members and at that point, just being around them in a session is enough to warrant some entertaining playtime.

This game honestly gets stale playing the same way you used to play, you have to switch it up and mess around with different playstyles, especially this deep into the game's life cycle.

I completley agree with the OP. You still get bad sport points when you destroy someones personal vehicle, but at the same time you get rewarded for destroying someones' cargo or stealing a I/E car etc. You can make hours upon hours of hard work go up in smoke in a matter of seconds, but you better not destroy that poor guys' personal vehicle lmao! A big part of what made GTAO great was co-op missions and general pve jobs, and what R* did, instead of ambracing this, is orient people into forced pvp stuff with the introduction of the CEO and biker updated.

I've gotten bored with the lack of pve jobs and have recenty started freeroam killing. VIP jobs like Executive search etc, are cool as they basically let you use ammo in FR without loosing money. I will not, however, mess with a CEO/Biker that is trying to make money. I won't turn into an a$$hole that R* apparently want me to be.

I'm willing to bet that the Gunrunning DLC is going to be more of that force pvp stuff, which I've never been a fan of. If that is the case I won't be playing GTAO with friends too much anymore. I'm waiting for Tekken 7, and when Destiny 2 comes along down the line I fear I won't be on GTA much, if at all anymore.

Most people move on when they get bored of a game. Some people insist on sticking around. They make public statements about how the game is not fun anymore. /palmface

They also state the community is full of rude, paranoid players who look after number one. They are right. This game has been and will always be a pvp oriented game.

The biggest mistake R* made with GTAO was mixing PVP and PVE players. They should have been separate entity's. Personally I'd be happy if they scrapped PVE options and focused on PVP. At the moment the franchise is attracting the wrong type of players.

The game has become exactly what R* wants it to be. A non-stop freeroam war with broken mechanics where money is only ever lost, never gained.

Now I'm shocked if anyone says nice car when I own a fully upgraded, highest end paint jobs and most expensive chrome rims on an X-80... Not one person has ever said one thing. lol

You must be forgetting the time when contact missions and survivals were a thing. But yeah you're right, instead of voicing complaints, I should just go play another game that's exactly like this but better. I wish I thought of that years ago.

@ pureevil101... Idiot!!! GTA has always been PvE friendly... for 20 years now... Move on kiddo...

@ OP, seriously!... Why not post a thread looking for players instead? And that gold/chrome X80 would just be a moving target around me if you crept up with no mic/.text interaction... After killing you, I'd blow that ugly sh*t up, just for being the eyesore/child's car that it is...

Get friends, join a race/car meet crew... Krooked Kouki hit the nail on the head... Get friends and really open the game up, fully enjoying whatever you want with help, back-up, or just a good bit of conversation... You put a lot of effort in this thread to let us know what we all already know man... Use the energy positively instead, I'd recommend...

I mean, I swore I'd not heist for ages after the e2x event, I swore off of crates after my 1000th, yet, here I am, heisting with good guys, collecting the odd few crates here and there, all the while laughing my tits off, of talking Trump, or some nonsense... Such a good way to play, regardless of job/mode...

@ Happy Hunter... While I fully agree a level lock for the Homing Launcher is better, I'm glad for it, while in the post op vans solo, when a bandit does spawn in and I cannot react immediately, it offers hope, a small hope, but with that there's a chance... Granted, like anything, it's overused for the wrong reasons, gunfights etc. but overall, it's good for those that play fair and use it right...

what next? Are they going to start getting paid to blow up our cars too?

Are you new? It's GTA not the Carebears.

Freeroam is what WE made it. Rockstar gave us this massive open platform to do with as we please. We chose to shoot the crap out of everything. You can't blame Rockstar for that! Personally it's not what I do when I play (however find I need to much more recently), but from day one, it was chaos in freeroam. So much so they needed to add the mental state to freeroam after only a few weeks.

People do race. There are often race invites popping up.

People do adversary modes. I've just started to try out the adversary modes since they never really attracted me before but now, content is stale so I give it a whirl, people are in them playing.

People do deathmatches. I've never had an issue finding a deathmatch.

People do sit in freeroam, more recently I've been in very full sessions.

Delivering warehouse goods, drugs, whatever it may be is simple. Even in a populated session it's not difficult. The fly in the ointment is jets, which can occasionally wipe everything out without much/any defense. However, even that's not too often if you have a decent group of friends who help you.

When the warehouses came, when the biker stuff came and when the vehicle cargo came (and when gunrunning comes) I did it all in empty sessions with my crew. It was boring, far too easy and not very satisfying. I shifted to "normal sessions" to make it more exciting. Yeah, I could lose days of "work" to a low rank with a homer, that's what makes it interesting.

To be perfectly blunt, this late in the game money is unimportant. I've said that for well over a year. I currently sit on $4m+ (was $6m+ until I blew it on some cars just to fill slots in the garage) and have nothing to buy. I have a rank of over 600, I have no reason to gain RP. So I lose money due to a jet or homing rocket, big deal, I wouldn't have spent the money anyway, or would have wasted it on cars that I never drive.

Point is, we were given the platform, we made it what it is. Rockstar fed us more "things" to incite chaos in freeroam because, look around in a session, we apparently love chaos. You can't complain about Rockstar, you can only point the finger at any one of us who has killed or incited chaos in freeroam. Being aggressive, over protective or paranoid in freeroam is not a new thing.

FYI, I have made a lot more friends since freeroam missions (CEO/MC) than before we had them. Other organisations and MCs noticed we were not hostile and did not purposely go after them. A mutual respect was there and an alliance formed, without any words. Prior to CEO/MC stuff I made probably one friend and that was through heists.
