^ The outfit with the tan cloth shirt and brown cargo pants? That was last week's reward, and it's no longer available, sorry to say.

I did the live challenge and got another one. I hope they add soon the one with the red Balaclava

Badass hoodie but sadly it's stuck as an outfit set.

I just don't like how it's a 'special item'

You're stuck as a bald guy with a beard if you're a guy! The female one looks good though

I do hope the rest of the Cult outfits don't end up like this....

If it looks cool, you can bet it's going to be a set. Same thing happened in GRW. The outfit sets have a range of clothing items that community requested them to be usable separately since a year ago.

For me, the most badass Cult outfit is this one:

But once again, It makes NO sense using it in Singleplayer for the following reasons:

1. You can't see your character (3rd person view)

2. Cult leaders are going to attack you even if you have the outfit on.

3. Resistance leaders are going to be friendly towards you.

Haven't got to play this yet but I love the theme and setting. Anything about cults kind of spooks me with intrigue. If any of you like to hear some cult-inspired music after playing Far Cry 5 check these tracks out.

First one is A Beautiful Place Out in the Country. The haunting and repeated lyrics say.. "Come out.. and live in a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country." which was apparently taken from advertisements from the Branch Davidians.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVWcptE6UAI

Second track the repeated lyrics say "Although not a follower of David Koresh (reversed), she's a devoted Branch Davidian" - David Koresh was the leader (not the creator) of the Branch Davidians that had the shootout in Waco, Texas for before they all died as the compound burned down.

According to one reddit user, Boards of Canada actually stayed and the compound in Waco, Texas after the 1993 shootout. They made another track named Amo Bishop Roden who was trying to take over the Branch Davidians. She apparently confirmed that Boards of Canada had stayed in the compound at Mt. Carmel. Her husband was convicted of murder and sent to mental institute. Although they were Branch Davidians they were rivals of David Koresh. Roden is the surname of guy who created the "The Branch"

I just thought this was a nice bit of trivia. If anyone is getting into reading about David Koresh, Branch Davidians etc while playing Far Cry 5, that there is nice ambient electronic music that's conceptually based on the Branch Davidians and Waco. The EP, A Beautiful Place Out In The Country and some tracks of their following album "Geogaddi" have tracks about cults. The EP is all about the Branch Davidians cult.

^ There are some cults out there that are pretty f*cked up. The Davidians is one of them. There are more like the "People's temple" and the Warren Jefs FLDS Church.

Interesting how they use Hudson to showcase it... I'm guessing females get her character model, and the males get Pratt. Apparently, a "Marshall" outfit gets unlocked at the 1,000,000 mark as well.

Pretty cool how Ubisoft seems to be listening to community feedback btw. Many people wanted to see an M9 added to the game.

E: Based on the below pic, it actually looks like female characters get Hudson and male characters get the Marshall's skin... kinda sucks, but oh well.

Play in Arcade for 40 minutes

....I really don't understand why they upped Xbox to 1,000,000 for this. At least everybody has to shell in 40 minutes, but still I expect this to drag on into the weekend like the last Arcade. Just sucks Pratt and Marshall are on the line for this...... so, do we get both Marshall and Pratt? Or should I turn into a female for this week to get Pratt? .....I really like Pratt's design best, tbh I actually chose John's region first solely to save her. Totally wasn't hoping that my Deputy and her would bang

That doesn't seem to be the case, unfortunately. For the solo/co-op Arcade game modes, I noticed that playtime is only counted if you finish a map either by "winning" (completing the objective) or "losing" (all players die before completing the objective). Playing through a map for, say, 20 minutes and then choosing to quit or restart the map doesn't count towards the goal, stupidly enough.

I notice the global progress is already at 50,000 minutes played in only two hours for XB1, so this week's event might be finished as soon as this Thursday.

Oooh, you do get both outfits!

Earlier on the Ubisoft Club website, it only said "Marshall" when I viewed the Community prize. Now it says "Marshall" AND "Deputy"!

I wonder if Jacob and Faith Seed are also being held off as a challenge..... hopefully something not impossible like co-op. That'd fail

Play in Arcade for 40 minutes

Map Editor included?

Oh, no.

You need to play "Featured" maps. Basically the maps that will show up once you see the selection.

No idea if MP counts, I was playing Solo ones. And completing the weekly Arcade challenges just to pass some time.

pc is the same goal shadow

Guessing they bumped it up because it's minutes played.

Xbox is already at 150,000 so I'm not that fussed. I really want those outfits. Marshall's outfit and look is alright, and Hudson's is absolutely stunning!

Yeah, I figured that was probably the case. If I messed up a stealth run, I simply killed myself or let the enemy shoot me.

Got 75 minutes in, though I swear I played for 90

Doctor Holliday

Oh I'm glad there's a thread for this game.

After a couple of playthroughs, I think I finally reached my verdict on Far Cry 5. And please keep in mind that I've played every Far Cry since the original (on PC, for what it's worth). Unfortunately, I can legitimately say that Far Cry 5 might be the worst - or at least the most forgettable - installment in the entire series. And it pains me to say this because the core game is designed very well.

Montana is beautiful and the atmosphere is superb.

Everything else begins to fall apart once you dive into the storyline and get past the superficial gameplay. I say superficial because this is by far the least complicated Far Cry to date. And this is where the flaws begin. Everything is too simple which leads to everything becoming really stupid and boring... let's start with the weapons and crafting system.

Oh wait, there are no weapons or crafting system to speak of.

One of the biggest disappointments in this game is the lack of variety in weapons and tools. I was sad and shocked by how few weapons there are to unlock. When you're browsing the weapons catalogue it seems like there's twice as many guns at first, but ALL OF THESE are just extra skins/textures for the same guns you already have; no difference in performance or stats. You no longer have to hunt or scavenge in order to craft anything, because everything is unlocked with money, but they added a (useless and boring) fishing minigame in its place. Sorry but I didn't buy Bass Pro 5, I bought Far Cry 5...

The storyline and characters in this game are shockingly bad and include some of the most tripe and terrible dialogue I have ever seen written in a video game. This is the biggest issue of all. The story ruins the game on every possible level because it's not just a story in the background that you can skip. Oh no. It's literally an interference which TEARS you out of the game WHILE YOU'RE PLAYING IT and forces you to watch extremely long cutscenes full of utter drivel. I've never heard an NPC speak so much while saying so little. Just endless lines of dialogue about pseudo-religious, pseudo-political, pseudo-apocalyptic nonsense. Just endless tripe. But it's so generic and so non-specific that it's literally just baby babble. They're saying NOTHING but it takes so long it's infuriating.

It's game-breaking nonsense.

It kills all sense of immersion and it ruins your ability to even follow along with the events of the game itself. You're apparently being hunted by this murderous cult... who can apparently stop and capture you at their will at ANY MOMENT... but who apparently let you wander around blowing things up until they decide... but apparently they never kill you... and you keep escaping... and they keep recapturing you... and they reveal their plans like a sad Bond villain... and allow you to escape... before capturing you again. OH MY GOD WHO WROTE THIS TERRIBLE STORY?

You can be in the middle of a mission - in the middle of a firefight or flying a plane - but once you've hit the magical trigger point for the storyline you're PULLED into a cutscene against your will. Are you dreaming? Is any of this real? I'm sure at this point I don't need to explain what a travesty the ending of the game actually is. You learn that everything you did in the hours leading up to the climax was for nothing. I understand Far Cry games are tongue in cheek but this is beyond ridiculous. This felt like a complete rip off and slap in the face of the player. Nothing made any sense.

If I was still eligible, I would have gotten a uPlay refund for Far Cry 5 because I feel there's nothing redeemable about this product. I spent less time in Far Cry 5's 'endgame' than any of the others before it. It also happened to be one of the shorter and easier Far Cry's to complete with particularly crappy AI and overpowered companions. The behavior of enemies and patrols is horrendous. You can't enjoy stealth in this game because there's constantly an airplane flying overhead or a skunk running 200 yards out of it's way just to fire it's stink in your face. Some of the worst and most unrealistic AI behavior in a FPS I've ever seen.

Oh well... back to twiddling my thumbs until Red Dead 2 arrives.

Apologies for taking a dump on this game, I really wanted to enjoy it but at this point it feels like I wasted my money.

Good Lord. It's Arcade challenge again and it's gonna be locked behind PS+ paywall.

I don't understand what i have to do to get both the gun and uniform.

You can always check by opening your hub menu (where the map is), go to Online tab, then select Challenge. There you can see the objective(s).

I haven't played this game yet, since I need the much more powerfull hardware like Amd Ryzen (I have FX 6300 4x) and much more powerfull graphic card, but I have Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3 on disk, since these two games has own editor and it's really cool. (I really need to check if it's possible to add own .xbg (model format but it's not much complicated since there is some useful things (like: xbgimporter for Noesis but without textures yet, also there is Dunia 2 model importer for 3ds max link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/nh6st6783qea1vh/XBGimporter_0.8.zip of course I have found on Xentax forums but is still WIP, and some Rick Dunia 1/2 tools )) and .xbt) (texture format it's also stored in DDS ) but we can should to do that only for Far Cry2/3 not Far Cry 4/5 because these games is more hard with game formats ).

The cool outfits just remind me of another problem this game; I can't see myself!

In previous Far Cry's it wasn't an issue because you couldn't dress up. Now you can mix and match all this cool looking gear, but it's only for showing off to somebody else who joins your game, as you can't admire yourself in 3rd person. Just like all of the seemingly special weapons you could unlock (which do nothing special and are literally just an expensive paintjob), the hidden and challenge-based outfits don't even come with enhanced stats or anything worthwhile. The problem which connects all of Far Cry 5's issues is that there's simply no incentive to doing anything in this game. The 'easter egg' ending at the very beginning of the story is the most fitting consequence of all; just walk away from this waste of time

I don't think that's necessarily the case, especially considering the fact that the last game came out in 2014. They definitely put in work on this one even if it might not show in the long run.

I think they genuinely worked hard on this game.

Unfortunately it doesn't translate into a consistent experience. Sometimes it shines and sometimes it's insufferable. I've never had such a [potential] love/hate relationship with a Far Cry game in the past.

While Montana is gorgeous, it feels like the setting itself is the root of the problem.
So many of the modern-shooters today feature generic Russian agents or Middle Eastern terrorists as the primary 'bad guys.' In Ubisoft's case, they were aware that they were creating a modern-shooter about redneck cults who speak fluent English romping around in America. And they're creating it during a time with great political upheaval happening around the world in real life. You can just tell from the dialogue that the people who wrote the scripts in Far Cry 5 were terrified of actually offending anyone, so they tried very hard to write an inoffensive game, which left the most important NPC's and speeches feeling incredibly bland and empty and lifeless. This criticism is in spite of the gameplay issue where they force you to stop playing and watch ridiculous, long cutscenes, but it's all tied together, because I could've enjoyed these scenes if they had some actual personality.

They should have taken the risk of saying something. Say anything. Make a statement.

The cultists should have been raving about Jesus and ranting about abortion and sodomy and capitalism and the Jew-Zionist-Global agenda  It would have at least been interesting to listen to.

1. Well that might be in part because it's hard to put a Far Cry scenario in a country like the US where, we can't imagine some cult take over a big part of the state and turn it into a full warzone without the Goverment and other civilians from other parts of the US NOT noticing anything. I mean that might happen in a small town in the middle of nowhere like Colorado City, AZ with the FDLS cult and Warren Jeffs. But a whole state? Naah i doubt it.

2. I agree. That's why the state they chose is Montana and not Arkansas or Tennessee. Some people would be offended by a guy driving a pickup truck with the confederate flag or some sh*t like that. For me it would be funny as hell.

3. You answer your point. "People would get offended". But you are right, they SHOULD make a statement. I mean I personally couldn't care less about getting offended, I am a Spaniard and my country had a bloody civil war in 1936-39 that still brings up heated debates from one side and the other 79 years later, but still i would love to see a shooter video game about this war, and it's never going to happen because of "feelings". The same thing can be said about a shooter game set in the Yugoslav War in the 90's.

Also, we had a Modern-Shooter "similar" to the FarCry mechanics back in 2005 called "Mercenaries playground of destruction" that was set in North Korea. It's a 10/10 game (At least for me), Do you think any videogame company would risk making a game about North Korea nowadays? I doubt it, because they are "too afraid" since the SONY hacking and other BS.

So TL:DR= FarCry 5 is a cool game, but it's bland and empty. Welcome to 2018

^I really want that SVD rifle!

The problem is that even though we get new weapons, there is NOTHING to do with them. Who are you going to shoot? Militia guys? Bears and cows? Civilians? (Oh right you can't kill more than 3 civilians at a time because the game doesn't let you)
