Johan
So the next live event is a road kill one Fantastic At least it'll be easy if in general. Cows count for those, I set them on fire for the first one as I was getting annoyed at missing wild prey Already sounds better than leaving my game idle for an hour in a co-op arcade map. OurJud
I'm on PS4 and very puzzled by something that my searches have failed to uncover. During loading screens it tells me I can 'burn out' in a muscle car by holding circle. I don't know if this is referring to a fuel-injected boost, or a wheel-spin from a standing start. Either way my point being that circle is handbrake, and it doesn't matter if I press it or hold it (either moving or stationary) it only operates the handbrake. What am I missing? Mr. Scratch
It's the latter, you have to keep the handbrake and acceleration pressed at the same time to burn out. And use the left analog to steer. OurJud

Thanks. I was hoping it was the wheel spin one. I did try to do it, but I was holding brake and accelerate, not handbrake.

Cutter De Blanc
Took a three day hunting trip with Jess and Boomer since, y'know, there's nothing left to do now. Started at the forest south of Seed Ranch, and by the last day we'd ended up over on Joseph's island. It was nice, if not altogether pointless. My problem with the ending after turning it over for a couple days, is that everything you've done, all of the people you've helped, it means nothing because it's all destroyed in a nuclear holocaust. Didn't help that the last mission I did before the final one was help bringing Nick Rye's little baby daughter into the world, only to find out she apparently burned to death along with everyone else in a firey inferno. Really f*cked up ending. Joseph surviving was the least of my concerns. The final escape run was also a bit disturbing for me, here is this vast beautiful amazing lovely world that they've created and that we've been enjoying for a few weeks, and it's all on fire and will be completely obliterated in two and a half minutes, get to the bunker. They quite literally brutally and horrifically destroy their open world at the end of the game, and now everytime I appreciate the view, part of me is thinking "but it's all destroyed now." OurJud
Is the tracking system bugged, or am I not understanding how it works? I'm in the process of tidying up what's left of the side missions in Faith's region, one of which is to destroy cult supply vehicles. Knowing it would take me forever to search for them manually I hopped in a plane, turned on the whole HUD and set the mission to track. I expected floating markers to appear on the screen, and when they didn't I opened up the map expecting to see the targets pinpointed on there. Still nothing. What is 'track' supposed to do, because I have no idea where these supply trucks are or how I'm supposed to find them.

The supply trucks just spawn randomly, so drive around a bit, and you'll be rolling in them.
Cutter De Blanc
Those trucks appear randomly on the road in Henbane River. You're tracking a mission that doesn't actually have mission markers. It works with other missions, but the trucks and boats you have to come across randomly.
OurJud
Found someone in the mountains playing guitar, covering this song: I much prefer the other folky / country one. Not been able to find out if it was written for the game or if it's a cover, but I love it so much I keep going back to the same spot to listen to the guy singing it. Well not really a cover since it is an old American folk song. We are all allowed to play traditional folk songs without them being 'covers'...That's why it's folk music. Music for the people. Don't get me started. I'm from the home of the largest folk song society and have spent my life steeped in American folk music. I've now watched a number of people singing it, and none of them sound as good as the version in the game. But I love folk music. Love it! I just did a similar mission where I had to get two fuel trucks. The game didn't point them out for me, I just had to look for it myself on the main roads. I'm now wondering if the mission I'm referring to isn't one in John's region, rather than Faith's, and that I needed to explore more of the map in order to see the markers. Unless, as you say, some don't get tracked in this way - which begs the question why are you able to track it at all?

OurJud
I'm enjoying FC5 on the whole, but I can't help but feel us day-one buyers have been used as guinea pigs to a large extent. Yes, there's always the inevitable patches, but for anyone who did buy the game on release it will be a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. Shadowfennekin
Amazing how flying in John's region once the planes spawned was basically hell, you couldn't fly for more than two seconds without yet another plane being right on your ass. Nick was practically an essential if you wanted to actually fly! Not to mention enemies around every corner, even when a region is 'cleared'. I remember it being a nuisance picking up missions because a damn Peggie would come out of nowhere and start firing, causing everyone in the base to go into a panic and run from me or stop the conversation. Yet once you beat the game, clear skies and no enemies in sight! I do hope they nerfed those damn planes.... I never got to see as I already beat the game before the update. I never hated an enemy more than that stupid ice giant in Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC until those stupid planes..... Was the one where you had to burn 20 animals the first week? It's not even just like that. Both the story and the gameplay design decisions are a factor. Not many weapons, and no enemies to use them on endgame anyway as a shining example. Also, after beating the game, suffice it to say the storyline did not encourage me to want to play it anymore. Quite the opposite. Mr. Scratch
I feel the same way, the game is fun while it lasts but after wrapping up the story and side missions there's f*ck all to do. I had the exact same problem with GTA V but at least with Ubisoft there's a very big chance they'll add a bunch of new content over time like they did with AC Origins. chronic lumbago
Being forced into story missions is the worst aspect of the game. You could say it's killing my replayability. I usually like to start a new game, finish the intro and just go out and do stuff without following the story. As of right now, it's impossible and not something they could just get rid of as it's part of this game's main design. Like, what's the rush ubisoft? Why do I need to finish the story and can't play it in my own pace? It's a massive annoyance to me at least. You could finish the entire f*cking story just by blowing trucks up on the road. Started with Faith's region today and had a mission trigger after 2 missions. Great. A couple more and my map will be free of anything interesting going on. From what I've heard, in this region you're forced to do the final mission - in the previous ones, I could just leave the bunker until I'm done with everything else. Don't force your playstyle onto me ever again ubisoft. I do love the region so far. Jacob's region didn't impress me that much and it kind of reminded me of the previous FC games. Faith's region feels fresh again and gives me that "wow" effect that I had while exploring Holland Valley. Can't explain why. Maybe it's the fog. Jacob's region lacked cool locations imo. All those hallucinations and dream sequences, not to mention her appearing in front of you in a puff of cloud every 30 seconds was beyond annoying. I'm just glad I chose to do her region first and got it out of the way. Did John's after that which was much better. And now I have to do Jacob's which is the one I'm not looking forward to. Apparently there's four forced captures to do in this region, and all of them timed. Edited April 19, 2018 by OurJud
Vercetti27
a question about faith's region, is it worth completing it? i have a feeling as i progress the hallucinations will be a real problem eventually and i've already done the other two regions so not sure how motivated i am, already hearing that in the ending the map is basically a barren landscape after the bomb, so if i complete faith's region will it throw me into a compulsory mission where i have to defeat the final seed? if that is the case, i want to take the region and then leave the final mission as it isn't worth completing. basically, just plan to continue accumulating all the perk points, side missions and whatever but don't really have the motivation to finish the game.
