Best and Worst Tints On Each Weapon?

Recommended Posts

A question I haven't seen asked but one I'm curious about: Which tint do you like best on a certain weapon and which do you hate the most?

Here's mine (Note: Started a new playthrough and can't remember all the tints so I'll have to update this when I unlock more guns and check them out.)

Standard Pistol

Best: Platinum (Makes it look clean and shiny.)

Runner Up: Gold (For the same reason.)

Worst: Green (The way green is done on the standard pistol looks awful.)

Runner Up Worst: Orange (Orange makes the gun look mismatched with an orange barrel and trigger but a steel slide. At least LSPD turns the grip blue as well.)

Combat Pistol

Best: Gold (I like the way gold looks on the CP with the two-tone gold and brown slide and frame.)

Runner Up: LSPD (Cool yellow grip inserts and the blue color scheme compliments it.)

Worst: Green (Again, Green looks nasty. The gun has a puke color and the paint on the slide is noticeably cracked and chipped. Yuck.)

Runner Up Worst: None. All the tints except Green look cool/funky on it.

SNS Pistol

Best: Orange (Orange makes the weapon look tactical. Orange sights are useful for target acquisition in a self defense situation which this gun is clearly intended for.)

Runner Up: Pink (Yes, Pink. The gun already looks like something a hooker might carry in her purse anyway.)

Worst: Army (There is no point in making this pocket pistol look like it's going on deployment to Afghanistan.)

Runner Up Worst: Gold (If you're trying to show off with a gold-plated gun, you can do a lot better than a tiny one.)

Heavy Pistol

Best: Black (I think plain black actually looks the best on this one.)

Runner Up: Army (Makes it look like a spec ops pistol or something.)

Worst: Pink (Oh Hell no! It looks like an eyesore!)

Runner Up Worst: Green (All it does is change the grip and front sight. Yippee.....)

Vintage Pistol

Best: Orange (Orange engravings that look like flames? Yes, please.)

Runner Up Best: Platinum (Rolls back the years on this old gun. Makes it look like the High Power pistol from RDR.)

Worst: LSPD (It just looks....weird.)

Runner Up Worst: Army (Drab and ugly on this gun.)

Pistol .50

Best: Platinum (Because a gold Desert Eagle is too cliche for me.)

Runner Up Best: LSPD (The tint has a unique shade of blue that looks cool on the weapon.)

Worst: Army (You wield a Desert Eagle to show off. Painting it ugly desert tan defeats the purpose.)

Runner Up Worst: Green (Who gets up, sees their Desert Eagle on the nightstand and thinks "This would look great in lame green!"?)

Assault Rifle

Best: Green (For once, Green actually looks cool.)

Runner Up: LSPD (So does blue.)

Worst: Black (On an AK, black is just boring, boring, boring.)

Runner Up Worst: Orange (The way they did Orange looks so haphazard on the AK.)

Carbine Rifle

Best: Army (Looks like a rifle that saw action overseas.)

Runner Up: LSPD (The blue rails look pretty cool.)

Worst: Pink (Pink M4. Do I need to begin to explain myself here?)

Runner Up Worst: Orange (Once again, Orange looks terrible. Makes it look like a piece of construction equipment.)

Special Carbine

Best: Orange (Orange looks cool this time around. Turns the whole thing orange and not too bright either.)

Runner Up: Green (The shade of green on the G36 looks good and fits.)

Micro SMG

Best: LSPD (The blue furniture looks nice.)

Runner-Up: Green (Makes the gun look like a green Uzi from an FPS shooter.)

Worst: Gold (The way gold looks on it is hideous. It looks like it's a thousand years old and dirty.)

Runner-Up Worst: Platinum (Same as Gold. Just looks like a tarnished nickel job.)

SMG (MP5)

Best: LSPD (Blue furniture still looks great.)

Runner-Up: Desert (Looks nice and professional.)

Worst: Orange (By far. Only someone as warped as Trevor could love this hideous thing.)

Runner-Up Worst: Pink (I get that Pink is a joke color but on this gun it looks especially bad.)

Assault SMG

Best: Green (Nothing looks that great on this gun. It's super ugly. But the least bad is Green.)

Runner-Up: Pink (Is it weird that I think the pink tint looks alright here? It makes the gun look like an actual toy.)

Worst: LSPD (Nothing special about it whatsoever. Too boring for words.)

Runner-Up Worst: Army (I just don't feel it. Desert tan looks off on this thing.)

Pump Shotgun

Best: Green (For Franklin because he likes this weapon.)

Runner-Up: Gold (For Franklin when he gets rich.)

Worst: LSPD (The blue is way too dark and hard to see. It doesn't look any different from black.)

Runner-Up: Platinum (Kinda boring.)

Sawed-Off Shotgun

Best: Army (Looks like something soldiers use to breach doors.)

Runner-Up: Orange (The Trevor Phillips Armed Robbery Special.)

Worst: Platinum (It looks way worse this time. From boring to fugly.)

Second Worst: Black (Yawn.)

Sniper Rifle

Best: Army (Looks like a real Arctic Warfare.)

Second Best: Green (Looks like a real Arctic Warfare.)

Worst: Pink (Looks awful.)

Second Worst: Orange (This one is way too mismatched.)

Grenade Launcher

Best: Army (Looks like a real Milkor.)

Runner-Up: Gold (The gold actually looks real slick here.)

Worst: Platinum (Looks like a cooking utensil or something.)

Runner-Up: LSPD (Because cops don't use explosive launchers. It's ironic. Call the hipsters.)

Speaking of tints why doesnt the LSPD ever use their own tints?

Honestly, I think most every tint excluding the Yusif tints look horrible. They wash out the details of the weapon and have odd colouring in places. The Pink tint makes every weapon look like a plastic toy gun.

No joke I read the title as "Best and worst tits on each weapon".:D

Anyway my favourite ones are the military style tints.

HeySlickThatsMe

IMO Orange Carbine rifle looks good
And mostly i like the platinum camo because it makes the gun shiny , which i like (Mostly in nights , because it reflects everything)

Fun fact: you can apply Platinum camo on a knife with trainers (and few other weapons aswell , like Broken bottle and molotov i think)
And bonus fun fact: you can apply normal camo's on yusuf amir's engraving's with trainers too

Retro Flutter

Guilty of pink on most my guns....

although I think the Musket and Marksman pistol look best with Platinum tint. really highlights the metal work on the two of them, for them being mostly wooden weapons.

I wish I could get the Yusif finish on all weapons though...I'd love ot have it for my heavy sniper
