Just will share observation about Turismo, had to flip one, and saw that if viewing from bottom, their engine section textures appear transparent.

That's a model issue, an odd at that, that specific texture is the shared one and has no alpha mask so it'd be affecting a lot more vehicles if it were the texture.

Hey Ash, how are you?
First, thank you for the mods and patches for GTA IV, they are awesome and make the gameplay way more enjoyable! I'm wondering if you could help me with using FusionFix's "update" folder modloader for certain mods if that wouldn't bother you...
I've tried creating a separated folders or just drag & drop for each for example:

GTAIV\TLAD\common\data\cdimages\script.img (as folder) - and drop .sco files
GTAIV\update\TLAD\pc\models\cdimages\playerped.rpf (as folder) - and drop .wtd and .wdr files
GTAIV\update\TLAD\pc\anim\cutsprops.img (as folder) - and drop the .wtd and .wdr files

Those are the mods:

https://www.moddb.com/mods/gta-eflc-tlad-customizable-johnny-mod-by-luanjaguar93

Another thing I would like to ask, I've tried using a trainer to set Johnny's clothes but it doesn't seem compatible with FusionFix somehow, not sure if its some .asi files or .dll such as ScriptHook, this is the trainer I've tried:

https://www.gtainside.com/en/gta4/trainers/161465-simple-native-trainer-for-steam-v1-2-0-43-fixed/

Could you recommend me a compatible trainer?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I've kept trying and figured out I need to actually create a .img file and add stuff from the folder into it. Even though one .img file for all the mod files didn't seem to work, I had to create separated .img files for each.

Got the Trainer to work by removing it's dsound.dll file.

Still having issues to make playerped.rpf to work, even when adding .wtd and .wdr files inside GTAIV\update\Johnny Clothes mod\TLAD\pc\models\cdimages\playerped.rpf (as rpf file) the clothes wont show up on the trainer model clothing selection, maybe it's probably due to these files not being a replacement but new clothing pieces?

IV Higher Resolution Miscellaneous Pack

Higher resolution textures for a variety of things often forgot about in other packs

So What Is It?

This mod started out as something small and grew in size over the past few months, originally I wanted to improve weapon spec, which lead on to fixing other spec, and then normals, etc, before I decide to take a look at things like cutscene props, in-game props, minigames, etc. I noticed that a lot of "HD" map mods out there do not edit or change these so I thought it would be a good investment to go through these and bring the quality and variety up to scratch so not only can it be used with the original game to get a fidelity boost but to also compliment other HD Map projects out there.

In this pack you'll find that I have included texture upgrades for cutscene props (IV/TLAD/TBOGT), minigames (inc. bowling, pool, etc), procedural items (rubbish), pedestrian props (books, cans, newspapers, etc), generic props (too much to cover) and interiors (main focus being TBOGT here) bringing them up to a higher standard most people expect today, or at least remember how the game used to look 😛

So What's Included?

This ZIP file contains a folder for you to extract to your "update" folder, this folder includes multiple IMG files for IV, TLAD and TBOGT all split up into specific categories so you can omit specific things you do not wish to include (such as Weapon Spec if you have other weapon mods installed). Simply drag and drop to install this and that's all!

If the version of Fusion Fix for that supports the Overloader then yeah sure, if not you can try some other modloader for it, failing that extracting all the files and throwing them into one update.IMG will be fine.

Can you also add TLAD's combat shotgun for IV and TBoGT as an optional choice? It looks much better honestly. It probably fits better for Improved Weapon Spec.

Kind of a newbie with using the update folder, do i leave the "Ash_HiRes_Misc" folder in the update folder as is, or should i take the contents out of it and place them in the update folder?

You can do it two ways, copy the "update" folder from the zip to your GTA IV's root folder (this will create the update folder if you don't have it, or will just merge with whatever is there), or you can go into your update folder, and drag the contents inside the zip's update folder to yours.

No, it's fine to be loaded in all, there's some instances where TLAD and TBOGT will use a prop from IV.

Are the intro credit models using transparency like in older patches / console versions?

Various Fixes did something about it afaik...

That's a shader thing, the texture one was just a workaround but not how it's done properly.

If it's one of the more recent GTA IV ones then yes, they're all compatible with Fusion Fix's Overloader method, I'm not sure of Steam Deck but just extract the files into the update folder that will be in your GTA IV root folder, for prepacked versions of these mods here's the links:

If you don't install Windows on your Deck, then you need to know that it is actually running Linux, and all Windows games, including GTA IV, are run via Proton, and it has some quirks regarding loading DLLs. As a compatibility layer, Proton ships with its own pack of DLLs (these are called built-in) and prioritizes them over normal Windows DLLs located in the game folder (native). So, after you install FusionFix, you need to configure Proton to load the dinput8.dll file that came with FF. In Steam, open the game properties and write this into the launch options field:

Quote

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%

This overrides the default priorities regarding loading DLLs, namely dinput8.dll, and makes Proton prefer the one in the game folder. After that, it just works like on Windows.

P.S. Another thing you need to keep in mind is that SteamOS uses case sensitive file system, so you may end up in a situation where there are, say, "tbogt", "TBOGT" and "TBoGT" folders inside the "update" folder that's used to load mods, and I'm not really sure how the game will handle this. It may load mods from all three folders, or it may only load from one of them.

In the Fusion Fix ini file, look for the following line:

[BudgetedIV]
VehicleBudget =

And change that number, if you're just installing my pack then 144000000 is more than enough.

So What's Changed?

This update falls in line with the 15th Anniversary of The Lost & Damned, even though ironically not much has changed in that! The 1.1 update contains more files with updated textures, including areas such as Traffic Lights, Lamp Posts, Interior Props, Snack Vending Machines, Pool Tables and much more. The Ballad of Gay Tony also receives two additional interiors that now have higher resolution textures, they are Bahama Mamas and the Chinatown Arcade/Office site.

Special Thanks
_AG (Liberty Tree Sign Post base), Claude_Lib (IV Intro Credits Recreation), MagicAL (Finding GTAV textures of Dart Board, Gas Canisters and QU3BED)
