However I don't want my work to go to waste on this, so here's my remade Liberty City licence plates based on the final plate that was supposed to be used (which was used for the promo merch plates instead) and a special 1990's version, I've included the normal map as well and they match GTAV's quality, so any of you out there who want to use these plates in V/GTAO then feel free :)

Some extra info for here though, I'm aiming to release this two weeks before the 15th Anniversary date, so give or take, the 15th of April. I've pretty much gone through and updated everything, each vehicle has its own unique license plate (or two, or three), majority of decal textures have been redone/remade/upscale edited, spec maps and normal maps are higher quality across the board, had to remake a lot of those, fixed a lot of small visual flaws from Rockstar and things I've missed from previous releases, all Interiors are done, that's right, every single damn vehicle now has a HD interior. Even had to track down the original vehicles some of these were based on to remake certain parts correctly!

 

The license plates I've made come from the cut/unfinished plate that Rockstar used to promo the game (the design used for the N1KO and GTA 1V plate which was also used for the badges, etc, and later appearing in a low res form in Max Payne 3's files), I've scanned in the plate from my own collection and done the clean up and colour correction based on the files from Max Payne 3. I wanted to expand on the lore in the game too so now there's variants of the plate based on those used in NYC in 2008, GTA IV's Liberty City now has Biker plates, Taxi plates, Limo + Private Hire plates (if you start a new game this will be the first one seen on Roman's cab), dirty and grimed up plates for the beater vehicles and of course LCPD/NOOSE plates. I've also kept made sure to keep all higher res versions of these files if anyone wants to use them in GTAV or something.

 

Visual wise you might have noticed a bit of a nice difference in my latest screenshots, I'm now using the brilliant Console Visuals mod by @nastyyaboi which you can get here:

So What Is It?

This ZIP file contains all the License Plates and extra Vehicle Stickers I've made for my GTA IV Vehicle Pack, these are higher resolution so they can be edited, used for GTAV, etc or for people to make custom versions of their own plates for their vehicle mods.

So What Is It?

This pack contains higher resolution textures for all the Radio Station Logos used in the pause menu, these were created using the original vectors and NOT UPSCALED AND REDRAWN.  The original resolution provided by Rockstar was only intended for screens up to 720p, anything higher and the logos would have to scale up, the resolution I have chosen is a simple 2x of that which now covers resolutions up to 1440p before it has to scale up. This also benefits from the better DXT compression available now compared to 2008.

 

So What's Included?

This pack contains just two files, radio_hud_colored.wtd and radio_hud_colored_eflc.wtd, you'll need to place it inside the "textures" folder for each episode to make them appear in game, and yes, it even works with The Lost and Damned's grunge layers...

Which version? Some downgraders seem to change what file is read so it misses out one or the other (e.g. EFLC Only Stations will be a white square, or IV Only Stations will be a white square).

Small update for those of you who wanted Xbox One/Series textures in the Controller menu, then good news, after getting the file from @_ys I decided that I wanted to provide a higher resolution version instead to fit in with my other mods, so spurred on by that I finally finished these:

Replaced buttons_360 and frontend_360 files in above showed paths.

And result is that new buttons appears in GTAIV, and TBOGT/TLAD games, but gamepad image only is visible in IV, episode's pad remains old low res.

Looks like if I want want to hires pad appear in DLCs, need to replace this one ..\TBoGT\pc\textures\frontend.wtd (replaced DDS texture, because files inside differ per games)

When you are not loaded in-game, but only at main menu after initial startup, when navigating to Controller Layout it shows action list but not image, you also have such behavior? Once loaded into game, pad image will show up.

Slightly offtop question, but still about textures.

In main menu, you also see that DLC background images is lower resolution in comparison to one for IV ? 

UPD. Its select_menu.wtd, and inside art looks good, but in menu feels more low res. 

Even more noticeable is the text, files title_xxx.wtd. After all I see that GTAIV files are twice bigger in resolution.

Idiot-proofing note: the vehicle packs include vehshare so don't install the standalone vehshare on top them or you get the shared LIBERTY CITY bump map conflicting with the varied license plates. The vehicle packs include a special vehshare without that conflict.

I made a fix for that exact issue a month ago. Swapped offline and online frontends and also got rid of the useless social club icon in the bottom right to make the menu feel less cluttered.

@_ys nice one, wanted to try similar approach, but ditched it because arts slightly differ between DLC selection and screen where you have rest options (Start - Options...) 

Now curious, if these arts are not super detailed, maybe some decent results can be achieved if you dump images into some upscalers. :thinking:

Fusion Fix has that built in but it's missing from the latest INI, so just open the INI for Fusion Fix and add this line at the bottom:

Also I need to update and change some things in this thread, note down what's legacy now, upload Fusion Fix Loader packed versions, etc, hopefully I can get around to it this weekend.

@Ash_735 hey Ash, so, since the modloader folder "update" method is now a thing for GTA IV Complete Edition, I have a question regarding the Vehicles Pack. What is the appropriate way to do it?

GTA IV vehicles: update - pc - models - cdimages - vehicles.img - and drop the .wtd files 
TLaD vehicles:   update - pc - models - cdimages - vehicles.img - and drop the .wtd files
TBoGT vehicles: update - pc - models - cdimages - vehicles.img - and drop the .wtd files

Like this? Or the files have to be in an .img archive in order for the game to replace the low-quality vehicle textures with the mod's textures?
