I will buy Payback if it is under 20$. Otherwise I will wait for a crack and the DLCs to roll out. So my advice to everyone: wait for a bigger sale and wait till it is patched up and fixed up to be properly playable and fun. Important thing to note is that you have to buy DLC content separately if you don`t have the Deluxe Edition. They just put out a 5GB patch to fix things (slow texture loading, terrible stuttering, bushes floating in the sky and etc), including the retarded card system. HaRdSTyLe_83 Posted November 23, 2017 Share Posted November 23, 2017 i have only experienced loading textures once, when loading the game at the start, after that i never experienced texture loading problems. cant say about the stutters, i would have to turn off Gsync to see if they are happening. i did the game from start to finish and never seen myself forced to use any of the speed cards to progress, i still have around 90 of those speed tokens to trade in 5GB seems alot for a patch, did that drop today? Despite the flaws, it seems like a decent game undeneath it and my bro has been bugging me about this game for a while now. To those who played it, what can you tell me about the actual good stuff? Not quite. You earn customization by achieving random feats. I'm on chapter 3, and I finally unlocked a car that I was ready to invest in, and literally nothing is unlocked. Actually, I think calipers are, but still. So now, I've got to go out into the game world with this arbitrary checklist, and complete these objectives before I earn the privilege of modding the car I just bought. It's not the end of the world, but it's annoying and nonsensical, much like Faith having to earn/unlock the ability to land properly in ME Catalyst despite the fact that she's already an accomplished/skilled runner by the time the game begins. Paying to fast travel is literally like 5% of your winnings from even the lowest payout race in the game It's not much, but it's principal, and nickel and dime-y. "You can drive across the map, or you can pay us in-game cash to be teleported..." That just reeks of f*ckery. Fast travel enough, and that sh*t adds up. You're just whining about petty things because you don't like the speedcards I'm whining because EA made a metric sh*t-ton of inexplicably bad design choices, and all but ruined what could have been a good game. I'm not defending them by any means but it's an enjoyable game beyond that. It is fun at times, but every time I start really enjoying myself, I run headfirst into yet another idiotic design decision. We Are Ninja Posted November 24, 2017 Share Posted November 24, 2017 so i should wait for a deeper sale then? or when its on orgin pass I could punch myself for dropping $86.59 on it, and I can't say that I'd feel much different if I had dropped $64.94... $30, maybe $40 would be reasonable to me. At it's core, it's not a bad game. They actually addressed most of 2015's issues. They also broke damned near everything that actually worked in 2015 for no apparent reason. There are still things about the game that irritate me to no end (I still wanna punch the guy that signed off on speed cards, and smack the guy that OK'd the voice actors/dialogue), but at the end of the day it's a good game. The graphics are "good", though I found 2015's graphical effects to be a bit more impressive. It's no longer always night, but it lacks any sort of mood or feel. The color palette feel washed out by comparison, only coming "alive" and turning vibrant when you get on the nitrous. At no point does the game world feel like "an environment". The handling engine is fun for the most part. It's derivative of the old game, and it has it's quirks, but they still managed to make it feel intuitive, and like an old-school NFS game. The car selection is good and eclectic, and the aesthetic customization is almost as good as the last game (it bothers me that they added camber, but removed the ability to alter offset/increase wheel width to fill the cars' wheel wells, and I can't find TE37's anywhere). Since all spec cars are given for free when I bought my first garage I sold my Race and Offroad spec cars and bought what I wanted started with a Race spec : GNX sold it for a Race spec : 67 Camaro SS then a Offroad spec Subaru sold for a 69 BOSS 302 Last NFS I bought was Most wanted 2012 Finally bought a 2014 Camaro z28 and converted it into a 2012 Camaro ZL1 I now own 3 2014 Camaro z28 2 2012 ZL1 conversion 1 2014 Z28 Drift spec : 92 Mustang GT Drag spec GNX Runner spec : 69 Charger freebee!!!!! The speed cards reminds me of The Crew If someone doesn't have this game yet, to some it up, it's a Driftmania!
