@Spider-Vice: Cool..And interesting i was reading about Simulation video games and Take-Two Interactive owns Kerbal Space Program which is space simulation but with sequels, prequels, spin-offs etc. they could expand the brand into all part of Simulation a la EA's The Sims. Fantastic acquisition and i hope it pay off massively in future (probably paid $10-20 million for it and could end up becoming another billion-dollar IP). Social Point-Independent could become a greater third core after Rockstar and 2K. Go Take-Two!

If you thought GTA online's microtransactions were bad NBA 2K18 is worse. Everything is expensive and locked behind a paywall you earn very little VC from games They charge you 100VC to use the subway in the neighborhood. I wish EA would get their sh*t together and really make NBA live a real threat.

It actually great the way Take-Two/2K Sports have a monopoly with NBA and WWE same as EA/EA Sports have a monopoly with Madden NFL and Fifa. Fair play.

EDIT: Funny thing is months after the announcement of NBA 2K League, they quickly followed with NFL eSports Tournament.

...You can't lump WWE in there seeing as it's a completely lisenced sport, no one else does wrestling games apart from tiny old school indie stuff on PC. No one can compete because Take-Two owns the lisence.

True but Scopely, and WB have made two different WWE mobile games.

I watched some streams and never saw anybody paying for using the subway.

You earn VC by playing the games online mode and investing time. If you dont want to invest time you have to buy VC.

Everybody was hyped for that concept and it looks like its exactly what the community wanted to have.

Its also obvious that with this kind of new approach there will be bugs and problems coming with the game.

2K18 Standard physical version for PS4 and Xbox already sold out at Amazon.

It's a vague estimation but I think also Amazon plans with a larger audience for this title every year. Being sold out at the first day of release within hours could be an indicator that demand is crazy high

Also it is a little early my Q2 estimation ranges from 540-570M in net sales while I forecast 2,15B for the fiscal year.

Monopolies are bad for sports game though. EA with the NFL license keeps throwing out the same game every year with Madden. I wish they didn't get the exclusive licence for the NFL back in 2004. NFL 2k5 was advanced and way ahead of it's time.

With no competition they get lazy I miss the days when we were able to get like 3-4 different titles of the same sport.

Shows how much Take-Two influences the decisions behind GTA Online too.

Critic reviews look good, but player reviews are getting steadily worse by the day. It seems they are royally taking the piss with micro transactions, and that the neighbourhood is not much more than glorified 3D menu and is littered with cheesy cutscenes.

The funny thing about sports games are that they only last a year so after the servers are shut down you can't access your character that you spent all that time and money on. You also don't get year to year saves well only one sports game does it MLB the show but for NBA 2k and Madden FIFA or whatever don't use year to year saves so when the next game comes over you have to start all over again.

So Take-Two/2K Sports have a lock on WWE? Now i see the reason the license was extended for many more years. And Now they have complete Dominant with NBA. Well EA with Fifa should watch out if let say they cut a deal to make a soccer (football) game but featuring other leagues similar to Konami with PES. And they revived NHL last year for mobile. At this point the 2K publishing group have a powerful brand in sport.

EDIT: Visual Concept have a two studios: China, and Korea. I am think Yuke acquisition with a renaming will give them a third in Japan. And them are the second oldest sport-focus game development studio in the World since 1988 (After EA Canada; est. 1983).

I can't think of an annual sports game that shuts the servers down after just a year, most go on for a few more years. You are right though, transferable saves aren't a thing and as a Fifa player who plays a lot of the Pro Clubs mode the fact you can't transfer doesn't actually bother me at all and I enjoy starting from scratch again - but that's because that mode has zero microtransactions. If EA ever change that I'd have an issue with it.

2k responded to the community and is reducing prices for haircuts... in NBA 2k18

I think there are more changes coming making it a more fair deal.

Due to the Neighborhood I also wonder how they are going to implement this next year.

There sure will be a Neighborhood 2 but will you start from the very beginning?

I see a strong possibility to make the Neighborhood a continuous Free to Play game with an expanding world where you can buy apartments, cars... there will be tournaments around the year and other events...

The main game coming out every year then should concentrate on the Singleplayer and various other modes and you can transfer your player from the Neighborhood to the main game. In this way you also get rid of all the negative feedback.

Call me Ronnie2k if you like my business idea ;)

Had it not been for Fed's meeting today, $TTWO would have probably not only touched the new ATH at $103.28, but also gone to flirt with $104. I can see this month closing with $105 already scored. With potential news in October (RDR2 reveal and 2K's new game), it would easily push to +$110 leading to T2's Q2 conference call.

We also have this: https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/17/09/10082163/making-gains-in-video-games-analyst-gets-bullish-on-act

Take Two

Finally, Krasik said Take Two is still in the early stages of its digitization process. While the company’s earnings will continue to have a cyclical element, margin expansion and sales growth will raise the floor of those cyclical swings and could drive average earnings multiple expansion as well.

In addition to the Buy ratings, Buckingham has set price targets of $79 for Activision, $143 for EA Sports and $120 for Take Two.

Jabalous: $105.00 will be crest by friday, great to see everyone finally acknowledge (after 17 years into the century and dimissal of Acclaim, Midway, and Old THQ) that since the foundation of the company in 1993 and going public in 1997 the gaming landscape was meant to be a three companies sector in the Americas and Europe so Activision (before buying Blizzard), EA, and Take-Two with Ubisoft already become fourth since 2008. The company should be a $15 Billion market cap entity by launch of RDR2 and $19 Billion post-release, it will then make a fall to $15 Billion then rise to about $23-30 Billion settling in the middle while EA should get to $50-60 Billion and Activision Blizzard should reach $80-100 Billion. And if Ubisoft overcomes the takeover it should reach $15-18 Billion, CD Projekt will get to about $5-8 Billion then get acquired. Zenimax will be acquired by one of the Big Three same with CD Projekt, and Rovio. Great future for gaming. Long Live Take-Two Interactive, Long Live Gaming!

EDIT: Interplay still have not found buyers for it IPs, would love Take-Two to buy it all for it Independent Initiative.

While we're talking about $TTWO, check out $VERI. Contemplate your 'what if?' position.

Hello glad to see you joining. It mainly about all things related to Take-Two, it competitors and the gaming industry overall with a bit of other business stuff. Welcome. Anyway what VERI?

Haha. Didn't you notice that I've been in this topic for a long time? I know that the new username and avatar got you thinking differently. Anyway, Veritone has been added to Nasdaq since May and the initial IPO was $13 and now it's trading over $50 just 4 months later. I've caught it very late and saw it making +/-20% in a single day! Apparently they've developed a proprietary AI tech with many potential customers ahead.

Sorry for chatting about non-TTWO business, but just wanted to bring this unbelievable stock that made over 500% in a month to your attention. I just found it funny!
