Two interesting weeks ahead of us

1st NBA 2K18. Will it set sales records? Will the neighborhood convince critics?

2nd investor meeting tomorrow. but I don't expect any huge news there

3rd RDR2 news during last 7 days of September

I've read good impressions from fans about 2K18 and in particular how optimized the Switch version is compared to high-end versions on PS4 and X1. The game is going to reach to a large fanbase across previous and newer consoles. As for Red Dead news, I'm not expecting anything out of that Newswire post in May and R* isn't really obligated to share anything if they don't want to in the present.

Grand Theft Auto V still finds itself on the top of video game sales in August.

https://venturebeat.com/2017/09/14/august-2017-npd-madden-nfl-18-spikes-the-sales-charts/

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V, which has been in the No. 3 slot for the last three months, is back up to No. 2. It’s now broken the record for how long it’s been in the top 10.

“Grand Theft Auto V has now been on the market 49 months and has achieved 41 Top 10 chart appearances, 16 more times than any other single title in reported history,” said Piscatella. “In addition, Grand Theft Auto V is the all-time best-selling game by both revenue and units in tracked sales across PC, console and portable with digital and packaged combined.”

I would say that the primary driver is the constant push of small and large updates (e.g. Smuggler's Run) for GTA Online that keep attracting new players with different tastes. With this unprecedented success, I don't see why R*/T2 would want to stop giving more unless they want to rest the franchise as Strauss commented last year.

GTA V keep selling even if GTA Online growth decline both are platforms for recurring consumer spending (they might even release expansion installments for V while Online keeps getting dlcs and updates). Long Live Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar, 2K, Social Point)!

EDIT: Both GTA V and GTA Online will peacefully co-exist with RRD2 and RDR Online. Bring on the event today!

Was the last investor meeting also before markets open?

This is Annual shareholders meeting but if you mean the Communicopia conference two days ago I think no it was thirty minute after markets opened

Conferences are usually when the market opens or after. The only conference that was before the markets opened was the one right after the RDR2 delay, as a way to handle the afterhours stock crash.

Today's is an annual investors meeting where T2's management can explain their current and future strategy with a Q&A session. It's different from a quarterly conference call where management reports earnings for the past quarter and provide guidance for the next one. Conference calls take place after market closes or before it opens.

So nothing interesting.

Can't wait for NBA 2k18 sales figures

PC Version already has 20% more active players than 2k17 had all time

I will not be getting NBA 2K18 until Christmas need to save up but yeah hope it surpass 2K 17 in all sales metric. And Strauss Zelnick and the board all got re-elected;there is now a Global employees policy in the company. No RDR2 news but was a great one (from all the audio).

Jabalous: Dayuum that Insane!

EDIT: Take-Two Interactive is the only gamin stock up today (so far (for now)).

I've read great impressions from people who played 2K18, and many of them are impressed with the Switch version.

Imagine the lines when RDR2 releases

Imagine the lines when RDR2 releasesIt will be insane.. The game could potentially add $2-4 Billion to Take-Two's market cap (valuation). $13 Billion at December 2017.. $15 Billion at March.. $19 Billion at June.. $21 Billion at December 2018 or a little fall down to $18-19 Billion if they don't cross $2.5 Billion in revenue however investors and the street will favour the stock going forward.

EDIT: If this company gets to $300.00 by January 1st 2019 it will be unprecedented.

Blood you're back in dream mode ;)

First let's reach $200 which can be reasonable with the portfolio we currently know is existing and in development. RDR 2 Trailer #2 at the end of September needs to convince community that R* has a hit in the pipeline. Together with Borderlands 3 in Q4 FY18 or Q1 FY19 we could see the $200

I like that they are porting games to the Switch. Take Two is in position to be a big player there and gaining experience on the platform. You can be sure that if they release GTA 5 for Switch it will have the same impact like Zelda and has a 70-90% adoption rate.

The potential with GTA 5 is nearly endless. Expand Online Mode with another city or release a Singleplayer DLC. Both would add far beyond 300M$ to their wallet. I Don't understand why they have not done this yet.

The stock has been nicely consolidating all this week between $98-$101 and I take this as a sign that it's primed to breakout next week toward $104-105. After that, with 5 or 6 weeks until the next earning reports in early November, it can make $110 as ATH, and can easily go past it toward $115 depending on potential news coming from T2's publishing labels. One strong catalyst would be 2K announcing their next AAA game, which is rumored to be the next Borderlands game, and a smaller but considerable catalyst would be the first large reveal of Redemption 2.

The most optimistic outlook would be these announcements happening and sending the stock trading close to $120 before earnings, and a more conservative position would call for trading in the range $110-$115. With a stellar earnings report in November, the stock can shoot past $120 and closing the year in the range $130-$135. Two more quarters will then be left in FY 2018, and with continued earning beats, the fiscal year could close with the stock trading above $150. Yes, that's even before RDR2 has started to show up on the balance sheet for FY 2019!

Excellent comment brother! (The advantage T2 also have is that they own three publishing labels: Rockstar, 2K, and Social Point/Independent. Giving them multiple revenue streams)

EDIT: I think they will also start growing all three organically and inorganically especially SP (Rockstar, and 2K are already their two biggest publishing labels with the former being the crown jewel)

@.Bach

So which one do you prefer EA, Activision or T2? They are all aiming in the same direction.

Development cycles for games changed and that largely thanks to the invention of microtransactions.

With this value stream a game can be supported during its product life cycle. Otherwise something like GTAO would not have been possible because of development costs.

We have to love it or leave it. It's the current and future vision for games.

One more thought about this. The next big thing will be to connect the virtual with the real world.

And NBA2k18 has already the foundation for this.

There is a T-Shirt designer and Foot Looker in the game. 2K could simply partner with Nike and make a contest to design shirts and sneakers.

The winning design willl be manufactured in limited quantities and can be purchased in stores and online in the game.
