Anyone have an idea why police started shooting at me?

Was in a public lobby not 5 mins ago, was at the golf club looking for a sentinel to sell at lsc, found one unlocked and got in then out of nowhere an unmarked poloce cruiser came round the corner lights and sirens on, the police got out and started shooting at me i didnt have a wanted level, tried outrunning them but they trashed my car so i got annoyed, stipped and opened up a minigun on them and got 3 stars, anyone tell me if theyve had anything similar?

You also didn't get a star when they saw you?

The cops do come after you when they spot you in a stolen vehicle, but to my recollection you get a star then.

Weird, only time I've seen undercover cops is during a MC business raid, or that crate mission where you get busted for taking the vehicle.

It was a regular sentinel not an xs so it wasnt on simeons list, and no the car was unlocked i didnt have to break the window ive taken unlocked cars right infront of police thousands of times, and i was in passive mode so i couldnt take part in any freemode or biker or ceo missions so i honestly have no idea just curious wether its something i need to look out for in future or it was a random one off.
