It wasn't actually in the Sony conference, but I'm looking forward to Ni No Kuni II.

I dont see how Microsoft won this E3. EA played it way too safe and Microsoft thinks they have enough with just their Xbox One X.

Sony shows they try to get enough Third party games in their camp and at the same time offer enough real exclusives for their platform. That might be being too comfortable with their market lead but knowing they didnt even show all they have in store speaks volumes. (Death Stranding, The Last of Us)

edit: Fireman you are right. This whole E3 so far has been quite boring actually. No big new IP announcements or real scoops. Either playing it too safe or blueballing some more of the already announced and upcoming titles.

You could say the same about Microsoft? oh they just didn't show all they have in store! but it doesn't really work like that.

Microsoft had Metro, they had Crackdown, they Anthem and the debut for AC Origins and a whole new system to showcase no matter what you think of said system. What Sony brought to the biggest stage in the industry is something i'd expect out of their Sony show in February or a smaller event like Gamescom. This pales in comparison to their last year show and doesn't stack up to their competitor's show yesterday.

Metro is not an exclusive. Anthem is not an exclusive and AC Origins is also not a platform exclusive.

Oh so what microsoft has shown is something you dont expect on a smaller stage, showing off multiplatform titles? And how doesn't Sony stack up to the competitors?

I fail to see that. Sony brought the most exclusives out eventhough most of them were already announced last year. Actually this time around there was a positive evolution with the titles. Days Gone looked better and had more gameplay. God of War showed off alot more and also some gameplay which looked pretty much the same as last year, nothing seemed to be downgraded.

Again, how doesnt it stack up to the competitors? Ubisoft and EA are not competitors. They actually make games for pretty much all platforms.

I don't particularly care they're not exclusives. Microsoft had the highest number of games I want to play on stage, being played on their new system and that kept me interested. They had a few cool looking MS only games like Sea of Thieves [really want to try that one out] and Crackdown, Cuphead still looks incredibly promising but sure Sony had the most exclusives.

And outside of God of War, I don't care about any of them. Hell God of War actually got more gameplay last time all things considered, that was a pretty meaty demo and this was more of a trailer which is cool and I don't mind, i'm still hyped for that game. Days Gone honestly looks worse this time around, they're absolutely cribbing everything from Naughty Dogs just without what makes that team's games so special. I'm serious, they've even directly taken Joel's crouch animations for scruffy whatshisface.

tl;dr: Microsoft had the most interesting games to show us, multiplatform or not.

ITT: passing off opinions as facts

On topic: no suprise Rockstar wasn't present at any conference. It's pretty clear Rockstar doesn't need E3 to generate hype for their games. No Last of Us is no suprise either, seeing as Naughty Dog is focusing on Lost Legacy at the moment (which was present) and TLOU won't be released for another 1,5 years approximately.

I'm not really that interested in days gone right now. I want to play a great third person survival zombie game with a walking dead feel to it but so far, it seems like your every day stealth game. I'm really burned out from all the sneaking around.

Maybe I'll end up buying though I'm avoiding anything stealth for now.

Last years gameplay didn't have any stealth in it though. Days Gone is an open-world sandbox game with zombies and enemy humans in it, you can take them out either with direct combat or with stealth.

Days Gone just looked kinda generic. The amount of zombies on screen at once was pretty high I'll give em that.

Looks like Days Gone is developed in Unreal Engine 4

I don't care what anyone says, when Nintendo shows a game, I think, "that's a game". That's something I would pick up at random at Blockbuster video, and it would turn into something I love. You know you're getting something that knows exactly what it is, not trying to be a movie, or immerse you in VR, it's a game. Something you play and you give the unplugged controller to your little sister to make her think she's helping you.

To be honest, if I didn't have any of the consoles, and was looking at all three presentations, I might go with the Switch.

Hell, I think I'm convinced that I want a Switch right now.

They're actually making a new Metroid. Great showing from Nintendo; practically all they needed to outstrip the competition.

Grats for showing exclusives for Switch.

That was pretty good, just games and trailers and everything seemed really polished, I guess that's the advantages of not doing a live performance/show.

The Nintendo stuff looked pretty fun, but there was nothing that would really make me wanna buy a Switch.

Edit: Well actually I'm watching a gameplay demo of Super Mario Odyssey now and I really really wanna play it because it looks all kinds of silly and 3D platformers are pretty rare on other platforms these days.

f*ck yes a metroid prime game! It's about time lol. Definitely my most hyped game from this E3.

Edit: The poll needs to add in Nintendo. Because they are kicking ass right now

The Switch is a glorified tablet. There, I said it.

First public E3 and it's looking a bit mad. Lotsa journos who can't get to appointments, lines for booths don't exist, had to open the show floor early as the line outside stretched for something like a mile creating a security hazard. Seems like they didn't plan it well at all.

Only just now watched some of the stuff at the MS conference and actually I think it probably had the best showing overall. Nothing that was specifically mindblowing, but a lot of interesting and varied games across the board.

the way they described, made it sound like its solely based at sea, which is a big MEH for me.

I was HYPED AS f*ck watching the trailer then it turned out to be a multiplayer game :/

Remember the hype for For Honor and how quickly it died? I have a bad feeling this turns out to be that game everybody wants to play then leaves to rot after 2 weeks.

Still no solid single player pirate game on the horizon...

Edit: The first cinematic trailer pointed at a very grimey, dark and story-driven single player game. I just don't understand why they choose to show off a good cinematic trailer for a multiplayer game? Is the game so bad they need that extra promotion by making it look extremely cool on CGI?

I always expected it to be online, but I was expecting like the Ubisoft version of Sea of Thieves. Direct control of one character, sailing the seas on a ship with your mates, could go to pirate towns and stuff. If it's simply ship based PvP I'm not sure I'm interested, but there's not much out there on the game and they've been kinda vague on how it all works so we'll see.
