Since Rya is now currently working on VCS styled VC, I wish he would put VCS-style fonts and menus. If done, I wish that some pro conversion group will be formed to convert VCS to PC using VCS styled VC as a base. Today, it's just every GTA gamer's dream.

 

Note: The pager system used in VCS was actually derived from GTA 3, if I'm not mistaken.

The chances of VCS being ported to PC, wether it's Vice City or San Andreas, seems very unlikely. There are no resources available like there is for LCS.

VCS never got a new release on Mobile. I know a lot of you want it, trust me I wasted years on VCS PC trying to bring it to you, but unless Rockstar actually remembers it exists and puts out a new port of it then you're not going to see a complete version of it on PC outside of emulation.

Maybe soon, if someone has managed to export every VCS data (e.g. cars, missions, map, etc.) and make it VC engine-compatible, but that would be impossible. Rockstar hasn't released VCS on mobile yet, so it will take time.

I've installed the game and so far it works perfectly. However, I do not know how to add all of the HQ components that are downloadable separately.

 

Could someone post instructions on how to use files stored in the to_GTA3PC.IMG and to_UNDERG.IMG zip archives?

Use modloader and make a folder with the name of the hq pack and then inside that folder make another folder called models and put the folders from to gta3.img and to underg.img

Almost every VCS data was already exported to compatible with vc and san versions of rw. The thing is that some ingame mechanics are quite specific for that game, for ex. business stuff, golf, dynamic features like ferris wheel or vehicle speed effect (needs to modify animation pipeline, that is impossible due to necessity of modifying source engine logic, however vcs pc edition was close in some way). Even if we are so hopeful for getting vcs released on mobile, r* don't. Thats it, no future for that project on any compatible platform. Luck with LCS we have a lot of ingame resources because some guys was fu***d up with realease build, another way this mod would never been done. All the features pointed us to partial modified sa engine, not vc. 
Grove Street Games, formerly known as War Drum Studio, famous for porting gta games on mobile, have no info about vcs or any gta game which r* decided to release on android and ios. With vcs we have music licensing issues and Phil C, with Max Payne 2 we have music issues with PotF (with lcs it was easy to obtain, almost a half of music was created by r*, another are disco and cheap hip-hop, and double cleff fm have no license at all - music, older than 80 years, is free of charge). Its will be costed more to release than profit, remembering how unprofitable this one was on ps2.

So I did this:

 

- copied the content of the modloader folder I downloaded into the LCS folder

- opened the modloader folder and made a new folder for a hq pack

- copied the content of the hq_roads folder into the LCS\modloader\hq_roads\models folder

 

But nothing happened, i.e. no changes have been made in the game.

if I'm not mistaken, modloader only uses the files you put in it only if they are inside any of the game folders

Maybe try to set the priority of each in the modloader.ini manually?

(Try to see the format of how the priority is written in the ini by checking the ini of mdlder of gta sa with mod installed( if you have)

😫 And I 100% believe roxor won't do anything to the IIId era games now

What I mean is that they must be in the original folders of the game, for example, if gta3.img is not in the original models folder it doesn't matter what you put in modloader, it will not load the files

My version 4 save didn't work in version 5 beta. I installed version 4 and replaced the files with version 5 until I discovered which one is causing failure, and this is: main.scm. I don't want to start all over again :(

Any changes made to main.scm voids savefiles. Which is why I prefer to faf about until the final release, which I can wait for due to the classic shooter binge I'm on.

The script is still changing and being updated so yes, saves will not work between versions, if you're intending to do a full save then you'd best wait until a later version.

I'm a programmer, but I work in the area of networks and security. When I have more time, I will see if it is impossible or possible to recover my save in the newest version.

Is there any plans to include LCS styled on-foot camera? Because gta vice city pc's fixed-behind-player camera doesn't fit this game imo. Gta 3 and Vice city only have this half assed camera fixed behind player's back because console versions don't have manual aiming unlike SA/LCS/VCS (well u can "manual aim" with m4s and rocket launchers but that's different) Gta LCS already has a "dynamic" camera which you can turn around to look at tony's beautiful face.

u can use classicaxis 1.6 for manual aiming and free camera as well, works the best, but it has some cons like ur camera static and u cant rotate it by q/e and back view, and there is mission where game crashes, called "Taking the Peace", anyways game feels better with that

I'm sorry if this has been previously addressed. I'm playing Beta 5.0 Build 816. I've completed the main story missions. When I try to play the Karmageddon side mission, it loads but controls don't work at all. I can't move the fire truck, I can't exit it to quit the mission, I'm just stuck in place until the timer runs out, at which time the side mission starts over again, trapping me in a loop. The story mission version works perfectly, but this side mission version does not.

 

I also had a small thing in the story mission Taking the Peace, where you take control of Paulie Sindacco's car via remote. I'm playing with a keyboard and mouse. The onscreen prompts tell you what buttons to push to take control of Paulie's car, but pressing those keys doesn't work for me. I was able to use my Xbox controller and the mission responded to my input and transitioned to me in control of the car, but without the Xbox controller, I wasn't able to control the car, the AI just drove until the mission failed.

 

I'm sorry if this is not the correct place for bug reports, or if these have already been addressed. Liberty City Stories is my favorite game of the entire series, and I think it's absolutely amazing what the mod team has achieved here.

I don't know why this is happening in the Karmageddon side mission. I just wanted to say that you are not the one who has car problems. Nearby NPC cars won't move, too. I tried it myself.

 

And I don't remember having control problems in Taking the Peace. If you're playing with mouse and keyboard, just press the horn button (LSHIFT or RSHIFT) to take control of Paulie's car. That's what I did when I played this mission in this build.
