Agem Posted May 11, 2017 Share Posted May 11, 2017 The part I'm most excited about is when we look back to this thread in 3/4 years, and say to ourselves ''Man, look at those silly people that didn't believe that was fake / that was real''. Personally, I think it's faked. The GTA V submarine image at least had a more genuine looking angle, and back then no one could pull off a fake with such ease. Today, we live in an age where you can easily grab some assets and make yourself a nice scene on an engine like UE4 or Unity 5. Not saying you couldn't in 2013, but today it's much easier and convincing. Main thing that I'm not buying is the overall composition of that screenshot. Like some people said before, that grass looks terrible, worse than SA PS2. The protagonist design looks veeeery boring, specially that jacket lacking in detail. The NPCs look a bit weird, the window reflections are garbage, and the horse... Good God. Do I even need to talk about that horse? Looks worse than the cheapest horse model you can find on turbosquid. Then again, this could come and bite us all in the ass. But I'm willing to say it's fake. It doesn't feel genuine at all. I spent awhile searching my favorite 3D model resource sites (and discovered some new ones) but couldn't find anything that matches much of what's in that image. Leads me to believe whatever the shot's from had some pretty serious effort put into it. I can't remember if Rockstar revealed the setting of GTA IV before the first trailer. He's wearing a similar vest to what's in that first screen shot but that outfit was never actually in game as far as I recall..is it at all possible that maybe this first screen shot was some kind of an early concept for the first redemptions John and the town of armadillo? The church looks alot from the trailer. 38 seconds into the trailer, you see that blue store right behind the leaning guy! Also at 44 seconds, where you see a dog barking at some chickens.
