jedi93
Is there a mod with better audio (not radio, I already got that covered)? If not, can I use the audio files from the PS2/XBOX version (with VBDec)?

Ash_735
Use this: http://www.indirectsound.com Drop the DLL into your games folder and it'll allow games that use older styles of 3D Audio to be emulated on modern Sound Card/Onboard Sound.
SpooferJahk
I made a video on this, and plan on remaking it, but the best way to make GTA III on PC sound great is to use the EAX 3 mode in the audio settings. You will need a way to enable EAX on your sound setup which means having a Creative card, or if you have a Realtek audio chip, using hacked drivers to emulate EAX. Indirect Sound was shared, do not use it unless you only care about 3D audio. It does not emulate the reverb and other cool effects GTA III does in EAX mode. The closest I can think of to being able to emulate EAX accurately is for someone who knows how to code to write an OpenAL driver/wrapper to re-enable the EAX mode in the game with all the special audio effects. jedi93
it's not so much that I want 3D audio, it's more that I want better quality audio (or something that sounds like better quality). And yes, I have a normal stereo setup... Edited May 11, 2017 by jedi93

And yes, I have a normal stereo setup... Not sure if the Xbox port had better audio, but unless we had the source files, we can't really get a proper high quality audio modifcation. Software can only go so far and the game itself already uses some form of interpolation to make it sound slightly better than the audio sources.
