So because some of my movie and tv show files are bigger than 4GB it doesn't work?

Correct - you simply can't copy them onto a drive formatted as FAT32.  If you're in that situation, copy everything off the drive onto a PC, format the drive as exFAT and then copy everything back on.  You can then copy any file onto it, regardless of file size.

I don't think it's a FAT32 disk format since I don't have any issue transferring files to the disk that are sometimes 60GB (GTA V PC Files)

I'll just keep using the USB Port on the back of my TV.

It works but can be super slow at times with either the controller being stupid or the files especially if I open the Movie folder which has the most files it takes forever to scroll through to find the movie I want so I figured if I could use my PS4 to use it the controller would make faster work for scrolling

You can check the format by plugging into your PC, right-clicking the drive in file explorer and looking at the properties - it's in there somewhere.  It could be NTFS which will be read by lots of things (and allow files the same size as exFAT), but the PS4 won't recognise it.

I'm happy as long as I can watch my Movies & TV Shows so it's all good in da hoodz

Okay - heads up!

Destiny 2 is one of the free PS Plus games in September, but it's available as of today.  Just go to the monthly games in PS Plus and it's there.

Finally, a game I didn't recently buy!

:p

Sitting here bored at work, haven’t properly owned a Sony system since the PS2. Spider-Man finally broke me and I’ll be picking that up tomorrow along with a PS4. I decided to start off my game  collection a little early, though - this is what I went with off the top of my head, yea or nay? WMEBUGch.jpg

Great choices, endless fun.

I'd also recommend Horizon Zero Dawn. Stunningly beautiful game with satisfying game play.

Okay, I like the red on the Spiderman edition PS4 apart from the obnoxiously-sized Spiderman logo that's set for standing position and the simple daring color combo of DS4 that somehow looks like someone's repainted controller.

Last time it took PS3 until Super Slim to have multiple colors. I was hoping Sony released PS4 with different colors starting on their first PS4 revamp (CUH-1200), but I guess they gonna keep alternate colors as incentive to special editions. ☹️

Since you're gonna pick up Spiderman which would be released shortly after, I don't see a reason to spend extra on these 4 games right now.

But you gotta pick what you wanna pick. It's always a 'yay' if you truly want it.

@Laker23

Yeah, I almost picked Horizon Zero Dawn over Uncharted 4 but it wouldn't have felt right getting the Nathan Drake collection without it. I'll definitely be getting it later on along with the Shadow of the Colossus remake - damn, Sony has really been killing it with exclusives, have they?

@luisniko

I actually bought the red PS4 pro Spider-Man edition because it was a better deal getting that instead of buying a PS4 pro and Spider-Man separately, and at first I didn't like the big white spider logo at all, standing position or not - but ,eh, it's growing on me. I actually like the controller color scheme, I guess if they really wanted to make it look more... Spiderman-y they could have added a little blue, but I'm fine with just the red and white.

I really like just picking up and playing games whenever, I hate having to wait hours sometimes installing and updating them. So, I figured I'd just buy and install the games I'm interested in now, and save me the headache of doing it later when I'd want to just play them right away.

Those white spiderman sticks look like they could get dirty very easily though.

I'm still rolling on my OG but I plan to upgrade around christmas. I had about enough of a prototype fighter plane engine warming up my room.

Anyone experiencing any problems trying to complete a purchase in PSN Store today?

I'm trying to buy a theme and have credit in my wallet but when I go to the checkout it keeps getting stuck on an error message and I had to switch the PlayStation

off to reset, hoping it's working later as first time ever had a problem with PSN store.

Probably just PSN server jerking. I had random disconnection like around last week.

Try doing the transaction from PC or mobile browser store.

Ok, it worked on the website so must be a PS4 issue, thanks for response!

EDIT:

Another edit to my post but I just discovered the Playstation Store has a welcome improvement which I guess is due to the recent system software update

but we now no longer have to enter letters to search for a game. You can now use the keyboard or type on the Youtube ap style on screen keyboard

to look for a game.

About time!

Soooooo.... As said previously, PSVita is going to have its PSN store cut off next year.

I don't know how the digital games will turn out, but damn, I'm gonna pack up my PSVita and sell it.

Funny thing is that Sony released a System Update to take down the Custom Firmware. I'd say that CFW will extend Vita's life support the way PSP did, but eh it's Sony...

Firmware update 6.00 is live. But nothing other than system improvement in the patch notes. Lol.

Ok. I don't see any interface upgrade and I have no idea what was inside that 448 mb and what they do specifically.

As opposed to have the left analog stick upside-down, I just found out that Steam finally done with Microsoft's bullsh*t and instead recognize Dualshock 4 as a compatible controller.

Previously, we need to use third party's software called DS4Windows (or DS3 for Dualshock3) to counter this problem. Now you just need to activate the configuration in Steam, then you can customize the light bar color, vibration strength, and button assignment if you want to, including the functionality of the touchpad whether to make it a mouse-like trackpad or as a button or split into 2 buttons. Yeah, Steam is using the controller better than Sony. What a f*cking joke.

Wait did I read this right? Steam is now recognizing PS4 controllers and not just XB?

Now we need to get the game companies to jump on board and allow their games to recognize DS4 controllers right off the bat just like they do with XB1 but even then I don't know If I will switch from my XB1 controller to DS4 as I am so used to it now

I don't think that is possible because (most likely) turning DS controller upside down is Microsoft's (understandable yet evil) regulation. Not only that, I think the last game I played that has Dualshock controller button format (X, S, T, O stuff) in the game by default was Dying Light. I don't keep up with Steam news, so I don't know when this non-MS joystick configuration was added. I just found it recently while lurking around Big Picture Mode. After it's activated, basically can just plug it in the next time you play and there won't be any upside-down left analog.

Additional note: I don't know if wireless works yet. But that third party software (DS4Windows) can work your DS4 wireless by syncing the bluetooth.

For this, you can go to Settings, Controller Configuration Settings or go to Big Picture, Settings, Controller Configuration to set your DS4 up.

Then you can configure the buttons as well through Game Page and save your button settings. Some screenshots:

Arrows to Athens

Has anybody else gotten this issue where pressing L2 would make your character move forward?

Also, the Dualshock 4 loves NOT to charge. I've had this issue twice now. The controller would simply hate being charged. It would only charge when I put it in a certain position.

The Dualshock 3 was so much better.

I'm not a tech guy, but L2 press results in another control to work means ic board f*cked up or have something on it inside that causes the cross transmit.

Same to DS4 not charging. Either your PS4 USB port f*cked up or your DS4 micro USB port f*cked up, or your ic board, again, f*cked up.

Hmm interesting.

I don't venture into the Big Picture mode as I never had any use for it and I don't read the changelogs because it's always twenty miles long so if you hadn't mentioned anything I never would've figured it out

Sounds like either your cable or the MicroUSB port in the controller has been worn out from being plugged/unplugged/jostled around. Try a new cable if you can get one.

Anyone know the overall spec for Seagate PS4 Game Drive speed? I can't get a detailed info on that one. I need to know something like the transfer or writing speed as a normal data storage.

I want to compare with the standard Seagate/WD external HDD and see which one has better performance.

I originally bought mine so I could do PSV to PS4 since I was spending a lot of time in the hospital at the time and it helped pass the time me being able to stream my games over the Vita but once I got better and wasn't in the hospital on a weekly basis I pretty much just put it on a shelf and it collected dust until a friend came over one day and asked about it.

I just gave it away to him for free as the chance is being able to sell it for more than $20 was very slim.

What about getting a wireless charging stand? I have one for my PS4 controllers.

What it does is you put the charger thingy in the charging port and then set the controller on the charging stand, It's worth a try and if it doesn't work return it

I guess it can depend on the demographics of the area as well, The local game stop had an advert the other day for a PSP and One Game for $75.

Don't sell it through shop. I sold my PS3 Slim back in '15 for 180 bucks. Before that, I asked a local game shop and guess how much they offered? 70 bucks lol.

Sell it through online marketplace. My country has eBay like thingy but only for domestic transaction.

Ooh I know that’s a deal they were offering trying to get rid of their own supply.

I tried that with an XB1 I still had the original box and everything they tried to offer me $150 for it I sold it on Facebook for $300 but that included my account with 3 games.

i have already gotten rid of it gave it to a friend who asked if he could have it besides it was least I could do after all the stuff he’s done around the house for me since I got hurt.
