Yeah it came early this morning...Go to the settings i think you can manually update from there.

Settings - System Software Update = "The Latest Version of the system software is already installed"

 

Is it because I'm in Australia?

I hate when it displays their real name, and not their psnid.

Yup, What's the point of "Real Name Request" if it's already showing?

 

 

Wish there was a way to go back to not seeing someones real name ID.

Have you tried deleting them and re-adding them?

 

 

On another note, the suspend/resume feature is spectacular. Upon rebooting my PS4 from rest mode (as a test), I found myself instantly back in Seattle as Delsin Rowe. I'd just like to know

1. How much more power does it consume? Enough to leave it suspended 24/7?

2. Will a game notify you if it cannot be suspended + resumed?

1. it'll remain in suspense mode as long as it stays in rest mode even if you keep it on rest mode for a week when you get back on you'll pick up where you left off, Well at least in story modes you'll be booted offline soon as you go into rest mode.

 

2. No it won't but even though it can stay in suspense mode i wouldn't recomened it although the PS4 version of it compared to XB1 is outstanding i went into rest mode while i was still online i'm so use to just closing application and going into rest mode well today i forgot to do that and went into rest mode while i was still in GTAOnline and as soon as i booted back up i was back in GTAOnline in the same amount of time it would normally take.

 

The XB1 feature with GTAOnline is horrible if you forget to quit the game piror to going into suspense mode it'll screw everything up you can't get in GTAOnline without doing a full hard restart but PS4 feature doesn't seem to have that issue.

 

Now only if they add Friend Online notifcation.

Yeah saw it this afternoon, there's also a WWE week sale thanks to Wrestlemania which brings down their WWE game to $40... plus the 10% off coupon seems like I'll go for it.

 

Not sure if I will though since I've already been buried in the latest games and will probably not be able to play it until later Summer.. not to mention it's been hated on compared to other games in the series.

Try restarting your ps4. I got it 2hrs ago.

Since the update I put the console in rest mode and left for a bit and when I came back it was beeping and constantly trying to eject the game, which it had already done. I took the game out and shut it off again, it took about 5 minutes before it started again doing the same thing, so I finally just unplugged it. Any clue how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Kinda bummed I can't use the 10% on either a PS+ subscription or a pre-order for MLB The Show 15.

what to do if that happens? Just turn it off?

I'm starting to get worried about the new update. I didn't have any problems last night with anything but I'm starting to wonder now. They are really pushing me to put the PS4 in rest mode now instead of just turning it off since the update though.

Never had any issues with Rest Mode, it's what I've been using since I first got the console back in May last year.. it's pretty useful for downloading things automatically while you're sleeping or away from the PS4 itself and it also consumes less power.

 

Of course, it's just optional.. but so far I've had no problems sticking to it.

Just like Johan i always put mine on rest mode and always have the only time i turn it off completey is when we are having a thunderstorm to protect it against a shortage but you're console will be fine in Rest Mode and like Johan said updates and downloads including system updates will download by themselves in rest mode.

 

Also if you buy digital games from store.playstation.com you can download the game without even turning on your system.

There's really not much you can do but manually shutting it down, Never ever pull the power plug from the back that could brick your console.

Welp, here we go. Just started up GTA V for the first time from suspend/resume, the same issues that have plagued the Xbone version are happening on my PS4 version. I'm being thrown into empty lobbies, I'm timing out attempting join others, and I'm lagging out more often.

 

Time to start resetting your consoles to clear the cache, ladies and gentlemen.

There's no issues with it not being able to turn on or left in rest mode the main isssues stem from the suspension feature.

Well be that as it may, I think I'll hold off anyway as I was reading about people complaining about a bunch of issues, which may be coincidences but I'd rather not take the chance.

 

And I have no use for Rest Mode. I'm either using the PS4 or I'm not, I don't leave any electronic devices (other than the fridge/freezer) switched on at the wall when I'm not using them.

Yeah I'm kinda with Waldie on rest mode. I only ever use it if I'm specifically downloading something or need to charge my headphones/controller. I don't really see the point in it otherwise.

That's what I ended up doing.

 

It just really sucks that Rockstar has done nothing about it. Even when I try to tell them about it, they act as if it's my problem. Here's what's interesting though. I have always kept my PS4 on in rest mode, and the GTA V connections were just fine. It's only when there's a suspend mode do I experience the problems. I'm going to experiment with my Xbone and make sure I close GTA V every time I finish playing. I have a sneaking suspicion it could be a problem with the way GTA stores information about the last connection and the changes that made with the router over time.

 

I wish there was a debug modding tool to see how GTA V connects.

 

Edit: I'm trying to purchase MLB 15 The Show, but I keep getting an error message "This content cannot be selected at this time". However, I can purchase the $70 version with no problems. What gives? I just want the basic pre-order version.

Try purchasing it through the Playstation Store on your browser instead, currently downloading it as I type this says 4.29 GB so I'm assuming the other 28gb or so will be done afterwards.

 

Also there's no problems with the current update, scrolling above all I see is the resume feature being broken with GTA V which was always known since the Xbox One introduced that feature.. aside from that the update is pretty much the best one so far IMO.

Sleep mode is useful for charging the controller when you are not using it. Also downloading stuff while you are away/asleep.

Ok, that worked. Downloading now!

 

An update on the suspend/resume feature: I went ahead and double checked EVERY forwarded port on my router, as well as the DMZ. No luck. I keep getting "Unable to connect" bullsh*t messages. I was also getting reports from friends that this was happening to them as well.

 

Either turn it off for now, or reset your console every time, but then that defeats the purpose, so I guess turn it off.

I dont if my ps4 super charges my remote or something but it was on 1 bar and was at full bar after a few minutes of restmode? Usually it took 2 hours now its a few minutes? Not complaing but its weird unless the new update is the reason for super charging my remote who knows.
