Long black screens on respawn.

I have a pretty low-end PC and so run the game on pretty low settings. Recently I was fiddling with a few graphics settings and changed a few things. Since then I have had long black screens whenever I respawn either in free mode or in a race. To clarify, it takes me much longer than it should to respawn and I only get a black screen. I also get this when entering buildings such as my office and warehouse and when starting missions. I've browsed this forum and contacted rockstar support and got no reply so I'd really appreciate anyone who's had this problem before or could give any advice.

Try to delete 'Settings.xml' from the GTA save file in 'My Documents'. That will reset your entire settings to basic, including graphics settings, the next time you log in.
