RDR2 Next Official Update

When do you think we'll get the next update?

 

I'm thinking it'll be this month for a few reasons.

 

The game is supposedly coming out in Fall 2017 (R* obviously has their record of delaying games due to polishing them), however based on that it's only 4/5 months away now until a possible release.

 

The last game came out on May 18th 2010, R* had a habit of updating previous games like Max Payne 3 and GTA V on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Newswire.

 

I hope I'm correct in speculating we'll see the next update 2 weeks on Thursday, the 18th May 2017.

 

Hopefully with plenty more initial details, images and a date for Trailer 2.

Impossible to say. Knowing R*, their announcements seemingly come out of nowhere. I recall hearing that the game was "definitely" delayed to 2018, so we probably wont hear anything until mid/late 2017.

 

Or perhaps they'll announce something at E3, but doesn't R* have a track record of not showing up to E3?

RDR2 is pretty much delayed .. Rockstar likes to delay their games a lot, that's why they mostly turn out incredible

 

They don't really like showing up to E3 a lot because of E3 2000 or 2001 for Gta 3 because everyone was more interested in State Of Emergency , but that was 16-17 years ago who knows maybe they'll show up or maybe they won't ... So i guess we'll just have to see when the time comes.

There's several milestones we could hope for.

 

18th May is the anniversary week of the RDR2 announcements as well as the release anniversary of RDR1. It'd be fitting to have something then. The week after that is the Take Two earnings call as well, and a few weeks after that we have E3.

 

But the story so far is that a lot of dates and times have seemed appropriate for Rockstar to announce something...and it still hasn't happened yet

Well i wonder why every game is delayed nowadays ... because we want finished & decent games that's why. Not some unfinished garbage lol.

If it's pretty much delayed, then why not announce it already? We are almost one season away from the release window of the game and yet it's still slated for Fall release. I think that if a delay is already set, then an announcement has to be made before T2's conference call and it wouldn't make sense to come a week or two after E3 to announce it. In July then? August? Tell me about looking like an asshole when the game was supposed to be two or three months away from release by then. Things are odd, yes, but the chance is still there anytime from now until E3 is finished.

Lets just say world on the street in the games industry. Sometimes its right and sometimes its wrong.

I don't think anyone will be surprised to learn this is supposed to be an insanely ambitious game though.

Nope. Rockstar has a deal with Sony - they got promotion priority and PS4 will get content updates faster than Xbox. If they will be at E3, then on Sony's conference, not Microsoft.

Its more likely we'll get a proper feature length trailer before E3 from Rockstar themselves (Rockstar rarely do E3, the GTAV remaster announced at E3 2014 wasn't an outright new game) and then possibly Sony having something small and exclusive to announce and talk about at E3.

 

Its about time we did hear something about RDR2. I'd be very surprised at this point if the game is coming out this year. Its almost June and there's still no marketing push. And we all know how Rockstar like their epic marketing.
