silly_nate
I'm not familiar with weapons at all so if this is a silly question, I'm sorry So I was playing GTAV a few weeks ago and I was curious to know why the assault shotgun doesn't fire explosive rounds like it did in TBoGT... so I checked the GTA wiki and I got really confused... So does anyone know why the returning shotguns are named differently? Pump sg in IV is called sawed off sg in V Combat sg in IV is called pump sg in V Sawed off sg in IV is called double barrel sg in V Assault sg in IV is called sweeper sg in V Automatic sg in IV is called assault sg in V I'd post pics but I don't have time rightnow this is just something that's been on my mind for a while so I figured I'd come ask the experts oh yeah I just remembered... Combat pistol in IV was a desert eagle but in V it looks like a 9mm... jaljax
jaljax
Sounds confusing alright, they probably started calling them that because they're different guns ? I never actually paid any attention to the weapons in IV Or V because if I seen a weapon I'm one of those people that just go and pick them up lol. But that shotgun that was in TBoGT was was probably one of my favorite weapons simply because it shot explosives. They probably changed the name or its probably a different gun. Rockstar likes to change the name of some weapons and change a few things on them in different games in the series. silly_nate

Sentinel Actual
None of the weapons from IV are in V. They're different models and function differently. The Assault Shotgun in IV is an AA-12, in V it's a UTS-15/AA-12 hybrid. It doesn't fire explosive shells in V but it does fire faster. The pump shotgun in IV is a poor airsoft imitation of an Ithaca Stakeout, carrying 8 shells instead of 4. In V it's a Mossberg 590 with an custom stock. The sawed off shotgun in IV is an double barrel sawed off. In V its a cut-down Mossberg 500 that also holds 8 shells instead of 3 (which it should logically hold). The sawed-off shotgun that is added later is instead called a Double Barrel Shotgun. Automatic Shotgun in IV is an Cobray Street Sweeper. In V it's a shorter Armsel Protecta but is called the Sweeper Shotgun instead because that name fits its role better. The Combat Shotgun in IV fired semi-auto and was a Remington 1100. The Pump Shotgun in V is not the same gun. Basically, none of the shotguns or weapons in IV return.
