judging people on their crew

If someone's crew tag is HACK or MODZ or something like that, i'm not really trying to play with them. And any crew name that's racist or crude or has Trump in the name definitely makes a bad first impression on me, which is usually confirmed shortly thereafter by their actions. The other day, I was in a lobby that included two people in a crew with the lovely name of "The *expletive deleted* (think cat) Pounders". I assumed they weren't the friendly type, and I wasn't a bit surprised when I noticed that they were mercilessly griefing anyone attempting to do work and abusing other players (and their moms) on the mic.

Also, if i'm racing and see a crew tag of RACE or something like that, or NODO, I immediately judge them as being my biggest challenger in the race.

Nah, some of them are just always stoned scumbags, thinking they are cool when avoiding DNFs in Futos and Ratloaders :sigh:

Ha! Thats definitely true sometimes. They're also the ones most likely to quit when they realize they might not win this one.

Well I mean you are putting a target on your back with being in a crew that has LGBT on it. Knowing full well how people react in a free-roam lobby. LOL. Some crew tags are just asking to get trolled.

Same goes with anyone with a political or religious crew tag.

No fw3 hosting... The man had a series running dude, c'mon...

Only playing about...

It's a tribute to him, lol...

No, it's not a tribute.

Last night was embarrassing on the forum, with several people jumping on the hate wagon.

There were several threads, including this one, that were posted, recurrently, to mock our "judging" threads.

A shame when unoriginal, uncreative people dump on others for providing them free content to discuss.

I'm gonna step away for a while and let my butthurt soothe. Cheers and thanks to anyone who's enjoyed my threads.

I do agree these kinds of threads have run its course. It's time to stop. Hoping this thread gets locked because it needs to be.

Agreed fw3, unfortunately some just have to ride others coat tails... Maybe a step back in order to come back stronger is in order...

My post above, and many of mine lately are to try to restore some faith in my conversation, I get i pissed people off, and fair criticism of that has been accepted, but I just want to help and contribute to things here, it's a cool place for me to chat to others as keen as me on GTA..

The Mrs. HATES IT!!! Lol...

Giving OP the benefit of the doubt, I don't know if he meant this thread as mockery. The question posed here is as legitimate as the clothes, cars, and levels topics. But yeah, it could been done without the "likes and views" comment. And he could have credited you and vnus for inspiring it before continuing what you guys started.

My crew is Wolf Ops (full name Wolf Operations) and I made it. It's a paramilitary force and we're rocking 25 members. So that should tell you I'm a soldier that roams around in a matte black Merryweather Mesa (non hostile lobby) or a Insurgent (same colour, hostile lobby) picking off high levels trying to pick off low levels. It's a tradition, really.

Side note: fw3, I'm pretty sure this is a legitimate "judging" thread. It doesn't mean to mock you as it is an actual question. However, the author may have forgot to credit you guys, so ask him if he can add you guys to the original post in credits.

TL:DR...

I judge based on behaviour first.

Anyhow, I rarely judge based on crews, I have only tried dipping my toes in to all that once or twice, personally, it just didn't work out, But I don't judge per say... I fully respect and appreciate it when someone does find the right fit, the game opens up more for teams to flourish, grief is easier to avoid, and the car colours are a cool thing many enjoy... I get it, just not for me... I prefer to play at my pace, and prefer to control the issues that can come from the more open crews etc. After too much bad, I gave it up... The good thing about this game, no matter how I play, there are like-minded guys/gals out there, just gotta sieve through much sh*t... But, to me, an underused part of GTA by me...

I joined IGN, did a on call job, got my trophy, and promptly left! Full of modded accounts too, I'd never consider a large, open crew, if I did go into crews again. The one I did join other than the trophy hunt one, was just a small crew... I left soon.

I was attacked by someone from the outer group that hung with us, and wouldn't accept that. nor did I accept being milked for my 3 years of knowledge for some noobs to plan to drop me asap after heisting... I do judge those guys, not the crew thing, just them personally. They belittled the situation, even got others I never joined to add in and caused me to overreact in a bad way, making things much worse, calling out my children (on this site in public) and stirring the pot, (I accepted many times my faults with my reaction, deal with it) and the few that went silent on me, well, no respect, your silence was CONDONEMENT of this all, f*ck that, there was a snake, I'm not doing names, he knows who it was, and since then, my trust for most anyone in this game had diminished...

Flat out rejected some forum users here trying to add me since too, a harsh judgment on my part, I fully accept, but after that sh*t, I wanted time away, been lone wolf since, though...

I'm slowly allowing myself to add people, I want to, but it's hard to, as I will not tolerate these things, no-one should to be fair, always happy to help, never look for a cheap shot either, but I won't be taken the piss out of. Just yesterday, I helped a new buddy sell his cargo, he shot me 3 times after the job as a thank you while I went to make coffee, (my son noticed, and dropped me to story, thankfully) some people just can't resist it, these players soon go, I want patient players, respectful players, not weasels looking to score anytime I'm not looking, weak bitches!...

I wholeheartedly agree that crews/friends etc. IS the best way to play this game, the party chat feature on PS4 is awesome, even solo, to not have to listen to the idiots in freeroam, and not have to spend time muting it all... And, of course, we as crews/groups can communicate tactics without the others hearing, IMO, a major flaw on old gen DM's etc. Really annoyed me that when on mic, the opponents could hear us, lol...

That said, if I join a competitive job, say a race, and it's me vs. 3 or 4 crewmates... I'm getting the f*ck out!!!

These types really grind my gears, they will race hard while I'm chasing, but the second I pass them, they kick me... Too many times, forget it... Pussies!

That leaves a bad taste for sure, to know I owned them c*nts, to get booted is just such a pathetic response man...

Peace.

Dude, that's the most douchebagery thing I've heard someone do on this forum. I'm sorry for you lol. I understand why you go lone wolf. But sometime open up to other people, maybe not people on this forum but people you meet in the game, real life, etc. Edited by PwnageSoldier

GTA-Biker

I usually respect members of biker crews, especially if they seem to know what they're doing (looking like actual bikers you could see in real life, riding tastefully customized bikes, organizing Online bike meets and hanging out with other Online biker crews...).

I'm neutral towards most other types of crews.

Oh yeah. Those f*cks ruined GTA 4 for me. I'll ruin GTA 5 for them.

So... much... SALT!

Agreed. Biker gangs can be fun. But then there's those biker gangs that don't even use motorcycles and dress like animals. Those kiddies are easy targets for me.

Off topic - why don't we just make a master thread where we talk about judging people on; well, everything!

The modder/cheater crews - report every member in it and find a new lobby, or taunt them into thinking they are amateurs so I can record alll the evidence to send to R* support

If someone's crew tag is HACK or MODZ or something like that, i'm not really trying to play with them.

Actually completely forgot about those.

Kind of makes finding modders easier a lot of the time, provided someone isn't a member of a crew like that ironically.

The fact that people can stroll around proudly proclaiming that really puts things into perspective.

It's not like it wasn't easy spotting a modder before, what with their above-2000 level and glitched outfit, but seeing a regular character with a normal level toting a "MODZ" tag is just silly.

Not really unless they are in a crew called the Psycho Killers or something then I shall judge. This is my crew emblem on my car, not sure if it looks friendly or not but the basis of my biker crew is to help members out with supply missions for their MC businesses. I guess you cant really know what a crew is about until you look them up on social club.

Seems like some people take crews way too seriously. For me it's just a way of having more people to invite when you're starting a mission or race, so the best crew is the one with the most members. That's why I joined IGN, because it has 3.7m members so more potential invitees.

Can't say I've noticed any worse behavior from IGN members than other crews. It's probably just because there are so many members and you notice at the crew people are in when they give you a hard time.

@ PwnageSoldier... I appreciate the kind words dude...

I agree, and with players I meet in-game, I either am talking to them in open sessions or on jobs and see them, and they see me, in action, so that always helps... At the time, I just reached out to too many players, trying to take on too much with it all, and I am newish to all this 'social media'... I never played online before and don't use other social websites either, hence my poor etiquette on here sometimes... I just got too big and messy, petty from both sides too, and spiralled, but it served me well.

I learned well, to be more patient, less expectant and open minded too, I'm more sceptical on certain things too... Taking a break helped.

Now, it's smiles all the way, I learned to enjoy GTA as an outcast, I embraced it, I wear the 'The Loneliest Robot in Great Britain' T-shirt proudly...

Anyone that can enhance my game is most welcome, but I'm having fun with or without ya... ;)

Also guys, to add to m judgements... If I see NODO, I do brace myself for a proper race, especially on old gen when it was better run.

The amount of people in GTA who are dressed up as "The Joker" is staggering.

Though, the "HAHA" clans always remind me of that old Black Ops emblem everyone who was too uncreative to make a good emblem overused.

You're post seems really presumptuous on people in crew being one way or another.

In my experience people join crew for

1)role playing

2)being in a theme or purpose crew like heist crews

3)for the emblem or color

4)to join a community of folk to play video games with and maybe make friends. Like my crew

And then you got your trolls who join crew to cause choas for the crew lol.

I agree about most IGN crew members as psychopathic and anti social but it makes sense as their crew is over a million and is a luck of the draw.

these judge threads are dumb and rude

OT: i kill anyone not in a crew for a start bc at this point people not in crews are probably fascists or something equally wrong and so i feel its justified and everything

big crews/pop crews are just SCUM, pure and simple, crew over 50 players is most likely filled with vile anti social addicts and stuff so tbh i think they needa stop and join a...

small crew (: small crews are good news, under 50 your crew is nifty, anyone in a small crew i see online i send money to and try and help out because i can tell they are wholesome people with family values and liberal ideologies in regards to the poor, and basically if you wanna help the poor youre alright with me so yeah

I only judge a crews with every member toting outrageous k/ds or ridiculous looking glitched outfits.

As far as my crew Dead Presidents (shameless plug), our code of honor is simple, don't get caught in Murrieta Heights buying sh*t, using our paint booth, robbing our stores, or picking up our prostitutes. We mind our business, as simple as that sounds, yet someone always sees a large group of us chilling as decides to bring their nosey hacking asses our way. Never fails.

I actually enjoy the "Judging People..." series. This should become a regular thing like the Elimination Games. Aaaaand seems I missed the party last night? What's this hate about? Come on. It's great threads. There's true potential for having a proper community chart of opinions here.

Clothes? Yeah, I judge them.
Guns? Don't use minigun or RPG unless needed. I judge them too.
Cars? Less so as all cars have something to offer but sure, I judge.
Crew? I JUDGE THE f*ck OUT OF THAT.

Say you're shopping for a new outfit cause R* keeps removing the fun ones like the police outfit, right, and you hear a *beep beep* but not any *beep beep* but one filled with try-hard skills (oxymoron, I know) and teenage giddy laughter. So naturally you spam all the buttons to exit the pants menu and start running towards the door to get your gun out only to see the door blocked off by a chrome Kuruma with one guy in it. Okay, so this guy wants to stir some sh*t. Okay. He'll block you in forcing you to suicide and then you can really kick his ass or he can kill you and you'll spawn and kick his ass as well. It's GTA, nothing is real personal.

Now scrap that thought. We're back in the pants menu. Lovely cargo shorts, by the way! Now you hear *beep beep* - actually, you don't - it's the start of the Star Spangled Spanner and there's that chrome Kuruma blocked the door but on each side of the car is 3 Abe Lincoln look-a-like pointing miniguns whirling towards the door so naturally you crap your new cargo shorts and get a swift death. Spawning back you see they're not only buddies but they got the same crew tag (along the lines of DEAD, W33D, POOP, MLGG cause they're real pros, or anything that could have dubstep playing on it). The issue isn't the fact your shopping session ended shortly but rather the gangbang of bullets you got from a team of rebel swats.

I take bigger offense at a group attack than a single guy no matter what his crew tag is. Extra hurting points if that group has the same crew. IGN/MP3/RDR crew? Sure, they're the "casual" of this game: join up a popular group for easy matchmaking or to fit in. Tell yourself whatever you want but you're still sleeping with the enemy. The crews that focus on MLG or killing, though? They're the ones that really gets under your skin.

tl;dr - I judge crews if they're grouped up together. 1 vs 1 me when I'm not shopping for pants goddamnit.

And as for myself? Well, I'm in a two man biker club with a half finished emblem for like a year now. I switch to the Van Society tag for car meets/events but other than that I'm a pure ghost so I pass under the radar most of the time. Except when another MC is in there looking for kills. They'll kill me and take a pic of my half-finished logo. I'm just imaging them getting happy with the kill, whip out their phone, zoom in on my back vest and say, "what the f*ck?" looool.

Out of curiosity, how would you judge me based on my crew emblem? It is my forum avatar.

Honestly? I'd tell you all about this cat I used to own when I was a kid who would piss on the bird cage when the bird inside wouldn't shut up. I figure it would be very tame GTA banter and you'd be creeped out by it or laugh along. That cat was an asshole. Emblem looks good, though. ;)

...making things much worse, calling out my children (on this site in public) and stirring the pot,

Wow, that's such a low thing to do. If I ever feel angry to the point of attacking someone I'll most likely insult their character or playstyle. To judge their personal life, as far as calling out family members? Disgraceful. People like that need to be outed and tell others about their motives. Personal experience can help others from getting stuck in a sh*tty crew like that. I think it sucks you're still playing with players like that (the cargo guy) when you seem like a genuinely nice person to play with. You really need to look into the forum crews here or get trusting buddies together and start one up yourself. It makes a world of a difference to game with people who have your back, who do take offense when someone takes advantage of you and will help you out whenever you need to.
